There is still some scripting like the segments they have and the games they will play so the show cannot be 100% unscripted.
Like this Sunday's episode Pranali is going to be hanging upside down doing a version of the upside down tree confession scene between Abhimanyu and Akshara. No way that was impromptu. The show staff would have had to prepared for it and she and Harshad would have known this would be happening. What she says upside down is most likely scripted too unless she can improv and make up lines on the spot. That is the potential "real" part as well as their reactions before the stunt and after the stunt.
The announcers have their cues to move segments along and potentially ask certain leading questions to get the casts that are attending to respond and play along.
I suspect they do give people free reign and encourage them to do and say as they please during these segments. Those that can do comedic improv just start saying things and the other actors who can improv too will play along. Hence there are props hidden behind the buzzer desks for the casts to use for fun when dancing or potentially taunting each other regarding who is going to win. In the script it probably says whomever wins goes up front to dance. But you have the freedom to go to the opposing team's side and taunt them or invite them to dance with you. So whom they dance with or how they dance is left up to the actors so that part feels "real".
If you are funny and entertaining enough you will get more screen time and those that are quiet will get edited out.
One thing is for sure Gaurav and Sumbul are naturally entertaining individuals. I am lucky my friend translates the episodes for me since Hulu does not have subs for the show.
I enjoyed the first episode and the second one wasn't so bad because Gaurav was entertaining. Hoping the third will be entertaining as Sumbul will be there and Pranali and her along with Harshad and Fahmaan have good fun chemistry.
