Yep. They keep saying Naira ki chotu sherni but Akshu is more like Akshara. Calm and sweet but not easily trampled over. Even Akshara stood up for what is right and the same will happen with Akshu. Naira was much more volatile.

And it does resonate with someone like me who has seen Season 1 and lost interest somewhere after the kids grew up. Akshara went from the comfort of the Maheshwaris to an austere Dadaji, silent Babuji, insecure Gayatri, naive Rashmi and differently abled Nandini. From a less conservative family to a more traditional one.

Akshu went from a problematic albeit still a little traditional family to a highly dysfunctional yet modern working family. The story is similar though - how a little sweetness mixed with a little strength can change family dynamics.

Actually Running away avoiding birlas is the best..this is what shefali does in the name of work. She can't handle the mad gang .Harsh is the one who is same from day1. So changing him is difficult unless manju switches sides. He feels he is king but Manju is his real queen who makes him win..the moment manju keeps him away his downfall starts and slow realisation. Abhi comes from the school of thought - you have to get your hands dirty if you have to wrestle the pig. Harsh doesn’t understand politeness. He misconstrues it as weakness and pushes the victim even more. If not for Abhi’s anger, he would already have thrown Neil out of the Birla house and probably physically abused Manjiri( if he isn’t already doing it). Abhi’s anger and point blank refusal to accept his abuse is the only thing protecting them both.

People keep chanting that Abhi’s anger is the reason behind PB’s behavior with Akshu-Manju. But it is the other way around.

Akshu is of the mind - Don’t wrestle with pigs. You both get filthy and the pig likes it. She’ll be a calming force that reins in Abhi’s anger.

Although at this point - do I even want Abhi to not berate PB? He deserves plates and jootas and chappals and much more. Not love and care and calm understanding.

Abhi and Akshu are at two opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to dealing with conflict, and with time, they will teach each other balance. I do think that Akshu will get deeply scared witnessing these fights, and Abhi will feel bad, so he will start to reel himself in that way.

We don't know the entire backstory, but Harsh and Manjari have been in a toxic marriage from the start it seems. Which is the whole conundrum. What would really be a kick in Harsh’s ego? Clearly it is not care and love, or anger, or the success of a non-doctor Akshara or Shefali. What is his poison? MCPs exist and do much worse than PB does, that is a fact. But IRL I would never advocate a Manjari to stick to a Harsh. Then again, Aarohi and her high handedness would be long buried by me too 😆

Sigh. Abuse is a tough topic to write on. iTV does a really bad job at it. In the end everyone is whitewashed. 20 years of Aarohi’s emotional abuse and 30+ years of PB’s verbal abuse are going to be brushed under the carpet with a meaningless hug and speech.
