yes manish is grey character and right if not agreeging for akshu , he has his point which are valid to and extent but then going ahead and getting an innocent insulted and arrested was too much.
he wanted to talk yes he was adamanet yes abhi was impulsive but manish was immature.

but yes his viewpoint of not agreeing for mareiage make sense but hope this viewpoint came in fore when he agreed for arohi rishta or for thta matter when swarna jinxed the abhira rishta.

as an elder he could have thought of clarifying with abhi as he was the one who got rishta anwways they are gone now but to me at this point all are right and all are wrong

If we see all tracks Manish actually did things to protect his grandkids. That generation gap is an issue coz kids are unable to share what's in their heart like they do to their parents.

Initially he wasn't happy with Abhi and Aarohi alliance too. But the way he is showing anger is okay coz he wanted to keep his grand daughters happy and society questioning their character is something which is unbearable for parents or grandparents.

The problem is what he did in recent episodes... Calling cop was too much coz Abhi will listen too him and there is no doubt in that.

Past few days with the comments that going on and on about Bade papa i wanted to know what he did do to get so much scold from all of us. Disclamir : before i start this let me tell you all this manish Goenka i am talking about is only about season 3. I am not connecting him with season 2.

This whole page evolves with the fact why Manish Goenka aka bade papa refuses to accept abhi.

Manish Goenka is known as the head of a very rich family in udhaipur The Goenka's who own a diamond business. The one lost his dear son, his daughter in law (Naira) whom he accepted as his daughter and his another daughter in law (sirat) the mother of his three grandchildren.

In the age where he needs to enjoy his moments and make memories with his grandchildren and tell stories to them he has to take the responsiblity of their upbringing. He brings all the four kids Vansh, Kairav, Akshara and Aarohi with all the freedom he could give them. He let them choose the career they wished and as years passed when both his granddaughters came of marriage age he asked their opinion over marriage. Both the girls said they needed time. He agreed to that too. Yet as the elder their stood his responsiblity to fulfill to find a good and decent guy to both the girls. In his search his wife Swarna showed him a guy of good character and from a good family Dr. Abhimanyu Birla. He was so happy and excited when he met the guy to fix his alliance with akshara.

So we all know what happened since start of this story. Abhi loved akshu but it was mistaken that he liked aarohi by all. Akshu know who this yet in her confusion pulled all the elders go ahead with that confusion in a way agreeing to abhi and aarohi alliance that exploded on 1st tilak day.

When both the families decided not to meet each other again they yet met for abhi molestation case. Another fiasco in which bade papa didnt let akshu to be involved worrying for her name and reputation that day he saw Birlas specially Harsh openly insulting his granddaughter. He was angry when she left to court without his knowledge yet agreed when she gave her valid reasons.

Then comes the biggest explosion Abhi coming to Goenka house and demanding to marry aarohi. Manish agreed. Why did he do it? He knew it was a marriage meant for doom yet he agreed to it.

Because for the first time he saw his youngest granddaughter aarohi really happy and he couldn't oppose it. He even said the same to Kaiarv that he agreed so aarohi can be happy.

There is nothing he could do with this girl aarohi even when he said no she went behind his back with AG and did the alliance.

Let this man be a born egoistic, man of pride but there is one thing we need to agree over here that no matter what he loves all his grandkids equally. He wants them nothing more than to be happy. During 1st tilak it was akshu who made them agree to alliance by agreeing to aarohi illusionary love and manish went behind his kids choice. Then when aarohi went behind his back and agreed for the 2nd tilak he still went behind his kids happiness than what he saw in front of his eyes. At the end what did all these kids do one stole money from home and the other ran away with her sister fiance.

Why Manish can't accept abhi for akshu ?

Manish is a 70 year old man who takes care of his grandkids. He knows how his grandkids are. Kairav is a responsible grown man who had taken the place of his son and his sisters father place at a very young age. To him his sister is a bachi at times he calls her beta. Then there is aarohi to us she is the vamp in the story but to them she is the grandkid and sister who is a selfish, self-centered, I don't care type of person or as akshara once described aarohi is smart but when it comes to love she is behind us all. Then there is akshu a meek, silent girl who took everyones wrath, suffers in silence and gave only love to them in return.

Bade papa knew what akshu is. The one who can suffer any type of pain and keep silent. At the same time he knew Birlas are all mad house who knows only to shout, yell, demand and order all the day around. He had seen how they praised aarohi. He had seen how they had insulted akshu every now and then. The only word he heard from Harsh till this day is iss ladki or uss ladki not akshu or akshara. Why would he even want to give akshu to a house that he knew would not respect her the way aarohi is respected or given importance to.

His heart might have only one question at this moment. Who will take care of his grand daughter and assure her happiness in his absence. He is a grandfather not a father who is going to stay with her for another 20 or so years. The two people who needed to give him one was abhi who turned from a loveable guy to an idhar udhar. Let's be honest over here abhi went to ak then jumped to ar then back to ak any elder would tend to think which girl he will jump next. Then there is harsh as an elder all he did till date is insult akshu. Even before he knew akshu as the girl his son loves he insulted her profession subtly in front of all.

As an elder all he needs is another elders acceptance from birla side. Will he get that. Who will assure akshara's happiness in birla house. Like he said marriage in India happens between families not between two people.

Then on Sankranti day whole society insult them as the eloped couple. Akshu was insulted for eloping with her sister fiancee. Abhi he defended her but did that clear akshu name no it only damaged her name more. Abhi had never cared for society if on that day if he had said what happened ( electric wire accident) everyone would shut their mouth. But no he only declared his love as if no one knows. Bade papa have to intervene and ask sorry when he wasn't at any fault. Abhi way of defending akshu didn't work well that day it's a worry any elder will have.

Does that make him a great man. No he is a grey character with his own flaws.

The day abhi entered his home for 2nd tilak being the elder to all who knew this marriage was wrong could have stopped but he went ahead with it in the name of aarohi happiness.

Then their comes akshara. She had been her bade papa's pride always yet she made him to bend his head in front of society at a very wrong time by eloping. As an elder he is hurt over her silence and more than that if it was aarohi he may have not reacted this extreme as aarohi never cared over such things more than herself. But akshara doing something like this is like a dream to him that he couldn't still come out.

SISTERS EQUATION :

Next comes the biggest problem over this story. The equation between akshara and aarohi. I don't know what to say over this but it is what they have shown.

Time and again it was shown how even the family elders can't control aarohi, she didnt even listen to her grandpa no for the wedding.

The first ever episode started with aarohi fighting with a just arrived akshu even when manish went to scold aarohi it was akshu who stopped him by shaking her head. Then comes the wedding day when manish said akshu went away but we knew she would return home. That statement clearly states what the naira kids are doing for aarohi. Akshu left home in the name of studies and none had an idea over it.

Then in the first episode aarohi shouts at akshu when Manish is about to condemn her over it akshu shakes head to stop him. He kept quiet to not escalate the issue.

Then their is a fact that aarohi had blackmailed, threatened and did all emotional drama to akshu behind close doors which the old akshu never breathed to anyone.

Does that make him a great man. No he is a grey character with his own flaws.

When the girls said they need time instead of understanding and leaving it he went in his old age way of searching a good guy despite kairav opposing him.

He never sat and spoke with akshu before first tilak even when abhi asked to get her opinion.

He didn't try to clear the confusion as an elder during 1st tilak and went with the flow.

He again had a chance to talk with akshu during molestation case yet he let it slide.

The day abhi entered his home for 2nd tilak being the elder to all who knew this marriage was wrong could have stopped but he went ahead with it in the name of aarohi happiness.

So their we all go all of them in this show are famous for being a grey character with their own speciality in making kaands.

P. S : I know that's a long and boring post yet do bear with me.

Oh how I love this and I do accept he loves all his grandchildren and probably Akshu the most as she is his pride that she broke.. I also feel post his heart attack we might see Akshu being distant but caring and Bade papa trying to make amends

I have no complaints or angst towards Manish Goenka. He is what he is and he needs to be the way he is for the Sati to Parvati transformation. For me, it's as simple as that.

Akshara's thought process and approach will be different with Birlas at this point of time because she technically doesn't have any haq to say anything to any of them. Irrespective of what mess the young gen have made thus far, and yes, they have made a lot of mess, she has now accepted Abhi and her love for him completely. 100%. There is no going back for her. He has shown her what she means to him and she has come to realize what it is to be on the receiving end of all that crazy love he has for her and how how it feels once she lets go of the leash on her own feelings w.r.t her Abhi. In short, she knows that they are both two halves of one whole.

So her own family being the reason for him getting hurt is intolerable for her. As we've all deduced, soon, she is going to roar in his defense. Manish is the trigger for that final transformation. He needs to be. There is no choice if the makers want that transformation for Akshara. Who else is there in Goenka family who can take Manish's place and become the current "bad guy"? No one. So he is the current Dakshaprajapathi who will soon turn into Himavantha.

I am looking forward to bike talks and bike rides of Manish and Abhi as much as I want to see how Akshara bonds with Harsh.

me too I am really waiting and I wish this is Akshara distancing herself at the goenkas like how karthik did and going about still caring and Manish actually reaching out to Abhimanyu for that. Akshara will not stop until she makes Bade papa respect her Abhi and should not as well. SHe has her own passive aggression that she uses

I doubt that. He MIGHT back off out of guilt if bade papa's health deteriorates but I doubt she'd let him stay away long. As spshastr stated in the previous page, Akshara has her own brand of passive aggression. She will neither let bade papa slide nor let go of Abhi.
