MishKu or Akshu-Aaru

Ever since season 3 started, I couldn't help but draw comparisons between this storyline and yeh rishtey hai pyaar ke.

• Two sisters at war with each other
• Two brothers dealing with parentage and family dynamics
• Misunderstanding between families - Mishti rejected Kunal, his ego got hurt. Kuhu wanted Kunal but his Rishta and ego were aimed at Mishti
• The brothers have this undying love for each other, like Abhi and Neil
• soul connection between Mishbir and Abhira (also Abir and Abhimanyu's name's are similar)

I'm not saying they're the same, but the parallels are there! With the makers being the same, I expected the story to follow similar developments but alas. With Mishti and Kuhu (for the most part, their relationship was understandable and their behaviour was human) I believed the story more. But with Aarohi, her behaviour already seems out-of-touch with reality. The Maheshwari's weren't stupid - despite the girl's pretense they understood the hostility between them and intervened when needed. But the Goenka's wait too long and the overall family dynamics are confusing me.

I'm also biased. I find Abir much more sensible and endearing than Abhi whose more exaggerated nowdays. I wasn't the biggest Mishti fan but I like that she wasn't a Mahaanta ki devi, tho she wasn't conditioned like Akshu so that might explain it.

Both stories went haywire tho so I'm not saying either is objectively better

MishKu had better dynamics than Akshu-Aru. Their fights/disagreements were more believable and understandable. Kuhu was not a full-on vamp 🤢 atleast till the surrogacy track (i was a kuhu and kuhunal fan(.

Here Aru has not been given much room to grow. I wish they would coz she could be interesting.

(I never liked Mishti but her character was strong. Akshu is too much of a pushover.)

Abir is a more balanced character than Abhimanyu who’s spiraling out of control weirdly- from a sane, good-hearted, principled doctor to a… irrational person who makes decisions without thinking and creates a mess involving everyone.

(I love Hc but I’d easily pick Abir over Abhi - anyday).

Same. I love Harshad and I see them trying to bring out Aditya Hood shades in him (CAUSE HE ROCKS THEM) but they're not doing them consistently which is the problem for me. A commonality between Abhi and Akshu is they're both (in a way) emotionally stunted in their childhood.

I have only seen bits and pieces of Yeh Rishtey Hai Pyaar Ke. And from what I saw it had a better plot line in the beginning. Abhir was a much more sensible lead. I liked that Mishti wasn't a push over and her problems with Kuhu seemed reasonable. Kuhu was grey until the surrogacy track.

If we look at season 1 of YRKKH and 2 of YRKKH and YRHPK what is the one thing in common??? The Maheshwari family 😆 the sensible family that guides their children.

I think that is the thing everyone has been commenting on the forum. The original families Maheshwaris or Singhanias gave proper foundations to their children and were able to step in to stop the nonsense before it became out of control.

But season 3 families seems a bit lost. You have the Goenkas that created the situation in the household that allowed Aorhi to dominate and Akshara to be trapped voiceless. Birls are more separated in the sense they allow their children to do as they please. We see how Abhi just gets away with things and his behavior when he is angry. They are lucky that he is a good person at heart and is not doing bad things.

Speaking of YRHPK, we might give the Singhania’s a bit too much credit. The sensible ones were truly Natik Akshara and Naksh. Like they way the kicked out Mishti was odd. I get her mom remarrying and forgetting about her but Devyani and Bhabhimaa could’ve taken care of her. And Naksh Natik Kartik could’ve fought for mishti to stay too

Oh, I forgot about that. I vaguely recall the reason. It was a but messed up Mishti's dad tried to kill Naitik. But at the time the actors realy wanted to leave the show so the creatives found a way to make their exit.

The parents wanted to leave but that didn’t mean send Mishti to the Maheswari’s (even tho that decision ended up well for her)

I think part of it is we don’t know much about Abhimanyu’s background. It’s been four months or so and we know he has deep rooted issues with his father but I think the fandom is having a hard time believing that’s because of how Harsh treated him Mom. Abhimanyu seems like the apple of the Birla family with all the traits (except stubbornness) that they wanted in the offspring. Yet he feels so alone and so broken. He says he wants to run away from family but he’s so connected to Neil and his Maa that it makes the audience wonder what exactly happened. But those layers aren’t coming apart. There’s a lot of theories going around to understand Abhimanyu but the makers haven’t given us enough ground to build theories off of anything more than guesses.

If I had to choose b/w Mishbir and Abhira, IDK who I would choose. If I keep all the family drama aside, I'd choose Abhira because they're chemistry is unbelievable (keeping in mind Pranali is still in her debut phase and the age-gap) but in context of the story I'd lean towards Mishbir.

But I guess, I just wanted Aaru-Akshu to be more like MishKu; two characters who had the fandom divided evenly and rightfully so. Here, there is a bit of a divide with the Aarohi supporters coming out, but everyone sees Aarohi's rise as Abhimanyu's downfall which I find underwhelming because I think they should exist complementary to each other. They're both flawed and I don't want either to be justified via comparison. I want Abhi and Aaru supporters to look at their leads independently. I don't want Abhi fans to be like at least he didnt do what Aaru did and vice versa cause that's just not my style.

I have seen only bits and pieces of yrhpk, and there was only one reason.. the ott mother of boys , I can't stand her. Sathiya ki sasu ma. Other than that , I didn't particularly like mishti kuhu or abir... . But I believe kuhu was better than arohi. Mishti was better than akshu but akshu is growing ...abir may be better but abhimanyu is also growing and he will reach the abir stage.
