I think the character needs a Krishna devotee, submissive but a happy person who has raised a strong son who is dedicated to his mother.

His mom is his friend with whom he shares all his heart's thoughts.

He protects her from his father's wrath but he is a baby infront of her.

I dont see that equation at all.

Instead Pranali is doing the role much better of taming the lion and yet she is like an adorable kitten when it needs to be.

The actors bring their own interpreation and she has no clue how to be a submissive woman yet a strong mom to an Alpha man.

Interesting - see, to me the expressions on the current Manjari look like those on women with abuse-induced PTSD I met when I volunteered at a women's shelter. She's got this fear and sadness behind her eyes. In the scenes with Harsh - her expression and smile open up when she thinks she's caught him in a good mood (like after the HARNISH scenes) but one can see her close up again when he speaks sharply to her.

To me, that portrayal makes sense - Harsh raised his hand to hit her in front of everyone, he's openly rude to her. Who knows what he says or does to her in private...

As for Abhimanyu she makes her face brighten when she looks at him - well maybe not so much in recent episodes but in the early episodes.

Would she have phalaoed all the raita needed to drive this particular plot forward if she'd been a strong mom and happy woman - I'm not sure... The plot needed her to be confused and people-pleasing and wishy-washy.

I also know of woman who are have been abused by their husbands/ fathers but I did not come to know of it till things became public. Then we sit and try to analyse did they ever behave like an abuse victim.

Abt Manjari character- she is emotionally abused by her husband and her sister true.

But she managed to raise 2 boys who love her and put her above everything. Her nephew behaves like her minion. This woman must have some qualities that all the lovely young boys consider her as the mothership.

Mahima is insecure about the fact that her sister has a hold on the men in the family. Also Anand really likes Manjari because he knows she is keeping everyone together.

So this woman is publicly very put together.

The mistake she made of choosing Aarohi is also her overconfidence that her son likes this girl who is a doc. and she doesnt need to ask him any additional question.

This confidence needed a certain passive aggressive character, calm on the outside, she craves for her husband's approval but when it comes to her sons her behaviour is of the one who takes cares of them.

Do you get the vibe from her?

Ok wow, all I said is that's what her expression reminded me of - not that I'm comparing her to them. It's an opinion - take it or leave it.

In fact I do get exactly this vibe from her which is why I made my observation - it's someone falling apart while trying to hold the external shell together. I agree with the rest of what you say. She's a bahu of a rich and powerful family, she needs to hold it together. She always looks a little... tremulous though.

yes Arohi didn't know how it happened. Writer is Zama Habib now. This track is started by Garima amd BV later Saba with utkarsh amd next another person. We can clearly see the disconnect on characters. There is no flow in story at all. Except Abhira in tact. Like you told we can't enjoy Harshads acting because of the plot. When story script are in right spot we can take actors acting too in count to be highlighting the plot. Here it's all like loose raita. Mahima is like ring master. Karishma is horrible to act. Oy her eyes are shown and I was scared whether she hugs Harsh and says marriage will be postponed kya but she is saved. She crossed kv and hugged Manish. So no connect to this Bhai behn at all. One part I liked is Abhis constant dialogues to Ak his love is overpowering that way and all are watching live with folded or rubbing hands. How long can they take HC as grace and his charm as trp factor. Till Abhira unite on their own Confessions this is the condition of story. Nothing can change.

Regarding the writers. I saw in utkarsh tweet he is still in covid isolation. Seeing different writers every week is like the story lost everything it could have given us.

Though I haven't watched much of Season 2. I do feel like even dadi had been made a comedy piece today. Today episode totally looked like they wrote on Sunday and shot on monday.

I want to but I am unable to watch these epis more than once. Maybe once this week gets over I will watch again. I am roaming in Twitter and watching netflix comedies and forcing myself to be detached.
