I like Vedika and completely agree with her stand... - Page 2

Unlike Kartik and Naira, Vedika as a character has no history with the viewers. On top of that, she has been give neither an interesting backstory nor any charm (unlike, say, Liza who is a bindaas tattoo parlor owner with some moral blind spots but a heart of gold).

The way Vedika is written, first she was a simpering doormat making eyes at a rich good-looking man, who never displayed any romantic interest in her, and then married him despite knowing he still pines for his dead wife. And now she’s a desperate sautan doing her best to separate a child from his father by emotionally blackmailing his mother, for her sole selfish benefit.

Forget for a moment what was done to her by Kartik or Goenkas or whoever - I’d like someone to point out one single likable or actively positive trait in Vedika. I think most of us don’t like her because we can’t identify with her character or actions at all. And I think this is exactly what the writers want because otherwise why would people still root for Kaira Milan given how badly those two have behaved in this track.

@TM, great and a much needed post. I agree with every single thing you said. Amongst the three here , Vedika has suffered the most and that too only because of Kaira's stupidity , indecisiveness , immaturity and selfishness. They don't care or pay heed to the consequences of their actions on other people. They don't understand marriage . They don't respect marriage . They just believe in playing marriage-divorce-marriage-divorce like merry go rounds , it has now become a toxic and vicious cycle for the two of them , from which they've neither intention nor will power to get out. Hope karma gets them sooner rather than later , for playing with other's people's lives , hopes, dreams , expectations and ruining them effectively.

Let's not even talk about how Naira dealt with Kartik's accusation 5 years back. No mature , sensible modern girl will do it. Never. That girl is a walking disaster , for herself and for others. Running away is in fact her absolute favorite thing in the world. She's been doing it at the drop of a hat since childhood.

Both Kartik and Naira are unfit to be called leads , yet they enjoy the full perk of being leads, namely we-must-support-them-since-they're-the-leads and whoever comes between them must be the bitch.

It's one thing to disapprove of Kartik and his family using another person for their own selfish purposes and of Naira for interfering in an already messy situation she helped create, instead of leaving Kartik to sort out his issues. But I'm having trouble understanding how someone like Vedika, who has shown no common sense, integrity, intelligence or independence in any of her actions can be considered likable?

Vedika being written as an actual person with her own life would've circumvented a lot of the shade currently being thrown at her. All it would've taken is for the writers to make Vedika someone with whom Kartik developed a genuinely warm (even if not romantic) connection over time - maybe Vansh's school teacher. Their marriage could've been convincingly shown as an attempt on his part to move forward with someone he likes and admires. If this was the case, Naira/Kairav's return would've truly made Vedika into an innocent victim of circumstances. My point is, the dislike the character is getting is not just because of her being the third angle. She could not have been written to be more boring, helpless, and annoying!

I find it is absolutely disgusting to have a regressive character like Vedika on TV in 2019. A woman who panics so much at the thought of using her education and resources (she still has her father's property!) to stand on her own two feet that she wants to entrap a man into a marriage he clearly doesn't want? And what kind of sad desperate woman would try to commit suicide after that quarrel? If she can't handle that little temper tantrum, even if Naira goes away, she's going to end up at the bottom of a cliff or whatever when she has to face a full-wattage Kartik Goenka blow up!

Agreed. Vedika is coming across as a gold-digger who shows no empathy for her so-called husband or his child. All she wants is her own selfish intentions to be fulfilled, be it by chasing Naira away by wishing the child ill, or attempting suicide. Inspite of knowing the legality of the marriage, she is eyeing someone else’s husband, and wants him by hook or crook.

The MORAL OF THE story... Kaira khud immature hai n apni galat decisions ka blame dusro pe daal ke sympathy collect karte hai...

Phir wahi sympathy ki umeed Vedika me ki to usme galat Kya hai... Kyunki Shaadi ke watq Kartik knew that uski wife zinda hai... Phir bhi usne akar Shaadi Kar li n introducd Vedika to Naira as his wife... Vedika kaha galat hai...

But they didn't even take a week's effort to find Naira or use their resources to trace her specially when her body was not found... What's Vedika s fault in dat...

So I just say Vedika is not completely correct but not wrong either... Coz she did what naira should hv done years back !!!!!

Most of the things i want to say have already been said by others.

But here is my view as a loyal fan of kaira...their chemistry , acting of mohsin and shivangi.

Vedika ( pankhuri ) didn't come out as a bad character at first. I kind of liked pankhuri ...but then she first of all as an actress made a mockery of yrrkh and kaira fans. I dont know if you are aware of what and how she and a newcomer made a good laugh by mocking fans when they said things like kaira milan. The video was taken down and because of that i was disgusted.

Second talking about vedika.... she doesnt deserves this all in my opinion...but the treatment she gets from both singhanias and goenkas...is that deserving ? She doesnt connect with viewers because

1. She pretended to be a woman she is not . Being very bechari infront of every goenka and saying how she feels guilty for coming in between of kaira. And as soon as she is alone with naira...she taunts her...that she came in between... so that is a double face for me.

2. Kaira are immature...faulty...bad... whatever you think of them. They are pure plain idiots. But vedika is none of that. She is wicked. Now let me tell you how... kaira have never selfishly thought about their relationship ... not during any track they have thought about themselves . Both of them naira is like i will let you do this to me because you love your family... and kartik is like i know i cant live without you but still for kirti or for swrna i will sacrifice you.

And what does vedika do ? Have you seen the latest sbs where she says to herself " agar kartik ko pata chal gya ki naira yha se nahi jana chahti thi lekin wo meri wjh se kairav ko door legyi hai toh mera kya hoga " ???

She is like me. Me. Me.. and me. Which is not wrong...but to what extent will you think she is harmless ?

3. She has shown no emotion of understanding any of the goenkas ( kartik ) and singhanias ( bhabhi maa) . I havent seen her thinking about what kartik wants. What or how she is talking to bhabhi maa...or what effect will be of akhil cheating on surekha. No. Nothing. Just her...and her plans...and naira she has always supported kdadi ....or what kirti wants or what kartik wants .

4. She is spineless. She is manipulative. And i am not saying this because of her being a third wheel ...i would have respected her if she talked with kartik instead of telling a mother of a sick child that your sins ( which do not even exist ) will cause harm to your child . What sane women does that ?

5. She pretends to love a person she cares 0 about. She lied to naira. Manipulated kdadi ...made it clear to everyone that as she is kartiks responsibility he will marry her....she forced kartik indirectly ... she has never talked or told him about how she feels or even about how he feels.

6. She is ready to make up with him...and be in his life....even after knowing she is the illegal wife..i dont know if you are regular viewer but before making an opinion i please you to watch all the episodes and then tell about how you feel.

Also about your sympathy....kartik or naira dono ne kisi bhi travk mein apni galtiya kisi pr nhi dali . Swrna ko ehsas kya ek jhtke mein maaf.... kdadi tak ko pata nhi chala ki adhe se zada time unki wjh se misunderstandings hui hai.... vedika ko already sabki sympathy mil rahi hai....

Also ps - naira didnt do it because she loved kartik. She was hurt by him asking that...she was in shock... and just because she didnt do it then doesnt mean vedika has a right too.

Also if you dont know let me tell you that she ( vedika ) will force naira to give divorce after doing that suicide track.... and vedika will be hAppy...acc to rumors then kartiks custody will be given to kartik and then vedika will not like kairav. Yeah she is a good woman.

Also she has shown no interest in welfare or emotional bonding .... soo here it is.

hey in another Starplus show I watched they made the ML ask his so called best friend to marry him when they FL returned with a child after faking her death. And can I be honest ..if they had shown us that here in yrkkh...karthik married to his childhood friend whom he has known for a long time, who he shares his problems with, who he has a great rapport and friendship with, and who he really wants to move on with as he can’t forgive his ex wife....it would have hurt and upset us 100x more. I just wanted to point out to the people on this thread who are saying they like Vedika and agree with her stand that we don't dislike Vedika so much just for coming between Kaira but because she really is an unlikable unrealistic character. Hard to sympathize with this much bad writing and bad acting in one unfortunate package.

It never fails to blow my mind how much indian tv shows recycle plots - what Starplus show is this?

(I also did not know about Pankhuri making fun of the fans or just how nasty Vedika will get in the coming episodes. I haven't been watching this past week or so. It's too bad about Pankhuri - she did a great job in Razia Sultan of portraying both the strength and vulnerability of a woman who is faced with some very tough decisions. I liked her too..but i saw a clip of that video i cant remember the guy but i know how she laughed when kaira milan was talked by the fans. I know how much backlash she got but she did that thing... so i kind of dont know why she even took the role. Was it because yrkkh is a big show... there are millions of fans...or because she found it interesting...i have no idea. But whatever it is...its just made me hate this character.

The newcomer or third party (Vedika) automatically becomes the punching bag for such viewers as all they care about is seeing the leads together no matter how illogical the storyline which has no trace of reality. The situation that Karthik and Naira are in today is the result of their own actions. Both families and Vedika have had to deal with the consequences of this couple's actions.

One can either choose to continue watching and support such content or choose not to watch this show. There is too much bias against Vedika unfortunately because she is seen as the cause of Karthik and Naira not being together when in fact it is their own behavior time and again that has led them to this point today. Even if Vedika leaves that does not mean these two will not have problems. Because there is no growth in their characters they will continue to have misunderstandings and break up once again. That's the plan to reach their goal of 5000 episodes. They may lose some viewers along the way but their hope is that there will still be enough viewers to help gain the trp needed to maintain the show.

Very well said and completely agree! Kaira had problems before Vedika came in and they will continue to have problems even after she leaves. Vedika is just a tool for Kaira and sadly, will be the bad person no matter what. The sad thing is it was Naira who ran away from Karthik and family and hidden the truth about their son and then there's Karthik, who doubted his wife's character, but it is Vedika this.... Vedika that.... is the bad person! Totally unfairness and wrong by the CVs showing this.

She should have directly told him that she has no interest to keep Kairav in her newly married life. She wouldn’t have asked Naira to take Kairav itna door that no connection happens between him and his father.

Vedika behaved so rudely and fought with Kartik in Singhania house .She did not bother to reach her home and fight there. She behaved like an illiterate uncultured woman without doubt.

I saw Kumonika ,Aparna XYZ Who took villainy to new heights but Vedika just toppled all of them and reached the highest place by being personification of a negativity.

I hate her and will continue to do so. My wish.
