Anya I don't think Karthik had Shubham's matter or not sharing things in his mind when he said Alas You could have understood me in the promo.
I guess what he meant was his repentance! His way of repentance!
Karthik mistreated Suwarna for 20 plus years and was very mean to her.
May be by giving pain to himself he is doing his own brand of repentance!
Karthik feels guilty for being the reason of Shubham being kept away from Goyenka villa since his birth and thats what made him what he was and the tragic end that he met.
Though it was Suwarna;s fault it was her decision but when Shubham died may be Karthik held himself responsible for Shubham's loneliness for his pains. And According to him Naira left him alone in his bewilderment while she did not.
Naira did understand him that's why she return back with Natik but he did not let her in ?
And in the recent episode too it was well projected when Naiara asked him during party preps ''Kisi se discuss karna chahte ho--(she meant Suwarna, I loved Shivangi's voice modulation and the scene)
She understood his concern for Suwarna but she was agonized seeing she being absent from his concern list while in past she had been his major priority (When he said to Manish he can't take Niara's name and hurt Suwarna) , and she was overwhelmed when he understood her passion for dance and wanted to fix her leg and talked to the surgeon)
Suwarna is making Karthik pay for all the rudeness. And Karthik is like I was the reason that you had to keep your son away and ultimately he left you forever now I give you a chance to be the reason to keep me away from my wife.
I gave you pain and in turn you can give me agony!
But it was all between Suwarna and Karthik. It was not Niara's fault that Karthik misunderstood Suwarna for so may years.
Even if he yelled at Niara to save her from Suwarna's wrath for the time being he should have taken her in confidence after discussing his state of mind, his demons with her.
If Karthik was guilty or agonized for Suwarna's loss so was Niara!
It was Karthik's fault because he made Niara a total stranger by calling Shubham 'His brother' Suwarna 'His mother' and then he went on to yell that someone else too can die in 'My family' and bla bla...
He never let her explain though Niara waited for him to revert back when calm.
When he did not she had no choice but to go far from him to breathe.
I am in team Niara because I did not expect this from him. He did let her down. He made her lose it to Suwarna when he broke her confidence that he would come back to her.
