This show is clearly obsessed with joint families from the moment it began. But WHY? I ask why is it glorifying such a regressive mentality which is why in India boys are preferred over girls and so many girls are killed before they are even born. Why is it always that the joint family is with the guy's family? Why can't they show a progressive and refreshing change for once that there is nothing wrong in living with the girl's parents.
In this show, it was COMPLETELY UNREALISTIC that Naira wanted to live in a joint family, especially with a old-fashioned, backwards member in the family like dadi who thinks that girls and bahus have no value in the family, who herself said that they are daughter in laws and not daughters. And what is up with this always asking for permission to do everything?? Naira is an adult who can take decisions by herself. Instead, they show her asking dadi for every small thing. Who in their RIGHT MIND would leave their cut little home with their husband, where both of them can live privately and independently for a jail like goenka family's house. If they want to show the going back, at least make it worth living there, instead of showing utter stupidity.
In America, if you look at mormon families, they value family and relationships at the utmost level. However, couples always stay separately with the kids until the kids are ready to be married. But does that mean that the grandparents can never see their children or grandchildren? No. Of course not. They take time out from their lives to spend special moments with the family, while the couples have their own privacy. They are considered one of the most happiest groups of people and there has to be a reason for that. There is a reason why there is always so much drama in Indian families. Because so many people have to stay together in one roof and because of that, the mind goes to trivial matters instead of focusing on important stuff.
In today's day and age, when so many people are watching this show, makers should show progressive things and how this backwards mentality is NOT OKAY and how Indian society should CHANGE IT'S VIEWS. Instead, from the show, they are releasing the hidden message that it is okay to treat daughter in laws like how they are treated in India, you need to have sons in the family (not one family is the show has solely daughters in the house), no matter what joint families are the way to go 🤢, even if the husband wants to stay separately for whatever reason, the dumb wife brings him back to the family circus to live, Instead of focusing on their relationship and their life and growing together as a couple, instead they have to focus on family drama and have other backwards and regressive people make big issues over trivial things because they have nothing better to do because of their lack of education. WOW! WHAT AMAZING CONTENT 🥱
And for anyone supporters of regressive content that will try and be over smart asking me why I watch the show if I don't support this stupid mentality, the answer is, I don't. However, a few members of my family do and it is on in my house enough for me to know what it going on.
