Karan Mehra — this Punjabi munda is much popular with his character name Naitik fromYeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

During the 10 years he's spent in tinseltown, he tried his hands on assistant direction, fashion designing, modelling, TVCs before zeroing on acting! Currently, he's busy juggling two stints — his daily soap and Nach Baliye 5, where he's matching steps with his wife Nisha Rawal.

We ask him how much he relates with the role of Naitik, which he's donning for four years now.

Karan shares, "Never thought of taking up a TV soap, but then may be it was destined and it was after dating Nisha for two years, I took upYeh Rishta... Actually, it was she who suggested me to take up TV soaps. Earlier, I couldn't relate much with the character of Naitik. But now, over the years and over 1000 episodes, I've transformed many of my own characteristics in this role. And, since Naitik is becoming more and more mature and caring episode after episode — I find him close to my heart." He goes on to add, "It's been my producer Rajan Shahi, who believed that I could carry this role conveniently. And, Naitik has brought me all fame, money and love."
