Part 16

The night was earily quiet.

Akshara was at Naitik's room in the farmhouse, waiting for him...these days they spend as much time as possible with each other...as soon as they both get an off from the hospital...and the picture perfect place for them was Naitik's farmhouse...where he had shifted since a few days now since the hospital was closer from his farmhouse...

Naitik came in a little later, tired from his night shift...as he opened the door, he saw Akshara sitting there, looking up at him with a wide smile on her face...

That immediately brought a smile on his face too but he asked her anyway, "Tum yaha kya kar rahi ho?"

Akshara grinned... "Kal tumhara off hai na?"

Naitik nodded.

"Aur main ne kal chutti li hain..."

"Aur...??" Naitik asked...thinking about what she could have planned.

"Hum ek din ke liye Mount Abu ja rahe hain..." Akshara grinned at him. It was always Naitik springing surprises on her...this time she wanted to do something for him.

They were doctors...so it was pretty rare for them to enjoy a possible holiday...even if they had, their timings didn't always match...so she inquired and on the day of Naitik's off, she took a leave too...to plan this trip...

Naitik didn't reply at first...he analysed the positives and negatives of it all in his head but when he saw the hopeful look on Akshara's face, he simply had to nod his head. "Thank you..." he said as he came closer to her and planted a kiss on her forehead.

He anyway needed a holiday too.

And if it is with her, he didn't really care about other things that much.

When Akshara and Naitik reached their hotel, Akshara quickly changed into her new clothes and landed straight at Naitik's room...they had planned to quickly sightsee the place as they were there for just a day...Naitik was tired from the journey but he had heard that Mount Abu was beautiful and he wanted to see it for a long time anyway, so they set off right after freshing up...

They spend the entire day together...sightseeing, taking pictures, chitchatting...when they arrived back at the hotel, it was night. Naitik escorted Akshara back till her room...as he was standing outside the door...Akshara turned to face him, a little uneasy..

"Kya hua?" he asked her, knowing she wanted to tell him something.

"Um Naitik...thori der ke liye hum tumhare room main chale?" she said that keeping her eyes fixed on the ground.

Naitik was confused, before nodding.

The two of them walked at his room in silence...

"So kaho..kya kehna chahti thi tum?" Naitik asked her as he put the key on the lock and turned the door open.

Akshara didn't reply but stepped on his room.

The room was dimly lighted. As Naitik waited for his eyes to get adjusted to the light, he saw walls over walls were hung up with his pictures...right from his childhood, to his teenage, to their collage life, till he turned a doctor...

"Kaisa laga? Maine karwaya," Akshara told him from behind.

Naitik had a feeling his whole life was captured on the wall...memories, happiness, sadness..every small thing that happened in his life was on the wall.

He turned around to face her. She was standing with a hopeful expression on his face...

It was her simplicity that made her fall in love with him in the first place, na? It was a simple surprise but a very precious one for him. She knew that.

He came up to her and cupped her face in his hands, before kissing her... "That was beautiful..." he told her softly.

He could feel her lips curve into a smile.

"Waise tumhe mere ye sari pictures mile kaha se?" he asked still holding her in the same position.

"Tumne apne firmhouse ki almari main rakhe huye drawers khabhi check kiye?" she answered him.

He smiled as let her go. Akshara grinned at him, before walking over and sitting on the small couch beside the bed.

This was one of her ways of telling him she wanted to talk, so he joined beside her...

Akshara had questions for every single picture hanging on the wall, except for the ones where she was present...He told her everything...his childhood, his growing up years and all the time, he couldn't help but think how he forgot to tell her all these...

After a while, the room got quiet...they both were tired and the silence felt good between them...before Akshara broke it.

It was raining outside and the open windows made Akshara shiver. Naitik went to close the windows and came back to see Akshara sitting cross-legged, smiling at him...

He knew she is the only woman he could ever be with and at that moment, he felt what he didn't feel for a long time, an intense need to be with her.

He came up to her and lightly took her hand in his, kissing the top of it...

"Tumhe pata hai...i always felt you are very different," he said as he pulled her a little more closer to him. "A child in a woman," he told her in her ear and she giggled.

"But I love you a lot..." he said lightly kissing her forehead and buried his face in her shoulders, planting a kiss on her neck too.

"Naitik..." Akshara called him out softly.

"Hmm..." his face was still buried in her.

"Mujhe mere room main nahin choro ge?" she said quietly as she drew circles on his back.

He looked up, smiled at her...and holding her hand in his, he nodded.

They could still not get so close...he knew that...Akshara always would end up stopping him or he would stop himself...because both of them knew from the family they came from and he would end up respecting her more every time she would stop him.

He got up from the couch and held out his hand for her.

He walked her over her room in complete silence.

"Thank you..." she smiled at him as she opened the door and stepped inside.

"Akshara..." Naitik called after her.

"Hmm..." she turned around to face him.

He quickly stepped inside her room. Akshara stared at him in confusion. But he simply put her hand on his and dragging her by her shoulders led her to the small mirror stationed beside the bed. "Us ladki ko dekh rahi ho?" he said as he let his head fall back on her shoulders again.

Akshara nodded lightly.

"I am going to marry her one day...very soon," he said as he placed a kiss on her neck again.

Two days later

Akshara and Naitik were in the car together...tired and on the way home after a night shift at the hospital...these days, whenever Akshara and Naitik's shift ended together, Naitik would drop Akshara home... only a few people in her home about her relation with Naitik but no one had much problem with Naitik dropping her off at odd times...because by now most of her family members knew Naitik was a guy they could trust their daughter with...and it was also safer that her travelling alone...

It was around five in the morning with the streets nearly deserted...both of them were peacefully quiet...

As Naitik drove towards Akshara's house, Akshara turned over to play on the radio that was playing a gentle and soothing music...Akshara didn't even realize when her exhaustion took over and she fell asleep on the car...

Naitik didn't notice that until he turned over to ask her something...she looked like an angel, he silently thought as a smile spread on his face...he wanted to stare at her as long as he could but he immediately turned his attention to the road...

After about another fifteen minutes, he was at her home...as far as Naitik knew, half of her family was out to Hrishikesh for a relative's wedding...only her brother and her sister-in-law were at home and Naitik figured they must be sleeping...he looked over at Akshara, with an intention to wake her up...but when he looked at her sleeping so peacefully, he smiled to himself and got out of the car...he opened the door to Akshara's car and scooped her up in his arms, being careful not to wake her...he opened the door of her house slowly, careful not to make a noise...Akshara's house door was always open whenever she had a late night shift...

As Naitik brought her up in her room, she quickly put her back on her bed, lightly removing few locks of her hair that kept coming on her face and giving her kiss on her forehead, turned back to go when he heard her voice...

"Naitik?"

He turned around...

He knew, for a fact, Akshara woke up just now...

"Tum mujhe upar kyu le aye...I mean ghar main sab..."

Naitik didn't know what to reply to that...so he simply kept playing with his fingers...

Akshara smiled. "Thanks..."

He looked up at her, confused at first, then smiled back. "Your welcome," he finally said...

Akshara nodded as Naitik slowly left her room...

She thought back at what Naitik had told her in Mount Abu...pulling the blankets up to her face, she knew that day would surely come...sooner or later...

Finally, i updated exactly after a month...sorry for the break...I went through a writer's block...anyway part 16 is here and i would be waiting for all your reviews because personally i am not that much happy with this chapter...i guess i could have written better than this...so will wait for some feedback to come in ;)
