Part 15

Naitik sat on the opposite side of Akshara. He glanced around to see some people staring at him. Intern and doctor together, not a good combination for other people. He tried to avoid their staring eyes and looked at Akshara. "Kaho…"

She looked at him awkwardly, suddenly at a loss of words.

After not getting any answer from her, Naitik got up. "Tum kuch kaho gi bhi?"

Akshara nodded and Naitik dropped on his chair again, looking at her expectantly.

"Tum shayad mujhse naraz ho is waqt," she began. Naitik nodded his head in a no but Akshara didn't look at that. "Naitik us waqt what I really needed was…."

"Time…" Naitik finished her sentence for her. He understood that. He always understood that. But now when he looks back to what he was doing for this many days, he felt guilty. Maybe he simply forgot why she did what she did.

Akshara nodded. "I didn't want to break up," she said in a hoarse voice.

"Mujhe pata hain Akshara."

The two of them were quite for a while.

"Tum mujhe ab ye kyu bata rahi ho?" Naitik finally broke the silence.

Akshara didn't react at his question before getting something out from her bag and placed it on the table. A ring.

Naitik gulped. The ring he had given her when he proposed to her. She still had it. But why would she return it to him now? He looked at her confusedly.

"Tumhe yaad hai?"

He nodded lightly.

Akshara got up, smiled at him and walked out of the door. Naitik was confused. He glanced at few of the people still staring at them, sighed and putting the ring on his shirt pocket, followed after her.

Akshara had exited the main hospital and was on the main road. She heard him coming after her but she didn't turn around.

"Kya hua?" He said as he came over her.

She had started crying. "Sab kuch…." She turned to face him slowly. "Maine sab kuch garbar kar diya..." she said quietly. "Tum hamesha mere paas the…main kuch bolne se pehle tum sab samajh jate the….you were a part of my life….aur maine usse utha ke pekh diya…I am sorry…." Her voice cracked because she had started crying freely now.

"That is past, right?" Akshara looked up at Naitik who had a fragile smile on his face. "Akshara…wo waqt shayad hamare liye nahi tha….aur us par hamara shayad koi control bhi nahi tha…I was acting like a jerk few days back myself," he forced himself to laugh a little… "But that was because of you….Akshara…you used to complete me…tum aj bhi karti ho…aur shayad hamesha karogi….aur just like that…mera is pe bhi koi control nahi hai…."

"You still love me…" Akshara stated quietly more to herself than to Naitik…. "Kyu?"

Naitik was baffled at her sudden question. "Because you were the only one for me…" he said finally.

"Aur tum mere liye…" Akshara said, looking at the ground with a light smile on her face.

Naitik stared at her for a while before smiling himself. There was no point hiding it any longer. He loved the girl standing before him. And now when he got a chance to be with her again, he was not going to lose it. But would she want the same? He has to try.

His hands slid in his coat pocket. The ring that he had kept there just before coming to her. He pulled it out. Akshara saw it. He waited for a few minutes for her reaction, afraid that she might stop him. But she was simply looking at him and the ring that he was holding in his hand. Was this the moment? To get her back? He knew the answer. He walked closely up to her. When he was close enough to her, his lightly held up her hand, holding the ring in his other finger.

Akshara was simply frozen to the spot. She was completely aware of what Naitik was going to do and she was letting him do that. Because that is what she wanted him to do. But after everything, she was still afraid.

Naitik slid the ring on her finger and cupped her face with hands, gently removing her tears, before adding, "I love you..."

She was not afraid anymore. This was the moment and she is not going to let it go. She smiled at him, before hugging him and saying… "I love you too…."

Life is going to be perfect again.

It was a few days that they were back together.

Life was back to normal. Their friends knew it all and were happy for them.

Naitik and Akshara were at Naitik's farm house. The place where Naitik had given Akshara her very first surprise. Akshara were sitting on the same window sill they were sitting four years ago but Akshara could feel like it happened just a day ago when Naitik and she were together…and today they were again together. She smiled widely at that thought.

She heard the door of the room open but she didn't turn around. And then she felt him sitting beside her, offering her a cup of coffee. The only thing he was capable of making. She took it with a smile, before placing her head on his shoulder.

"Tumhe pata nahin how much I wanted this moment again…" she said.

Naitik playfully smudged her. "Aaj bhi sab kuch maine kiya…"

Akshara blushed but then her face grew serious. "Naitik…" she said while slowly raising her head from his shoulder. "Tumhe kya lagta hai aj hum kaha hote agar humare beech koi break up nahi hota?"

Naitik shook his head. "Soch kar koi faida nahi hai Akshara….ab ye sare baatein matter nahi karti…ab matter karta hai ki hum dono is waqt saath hai…" He said while lightly kissing her forehead.

Akshara smiled at him.

"Umm Akshara…mujhe tumhe ek baat kehni thi…"

Akshara nodded at him.

"Tumne us din jis ladki ko dekha mere saath….that was Antara….meri tab ki girlfriend..now ex," he said nervously. He got her after a very long time and he had no wish to lose her now…but the guy that he was…he found it important for her to know.

Akshara simply nodded, "I guessed that."

Naitik looked at her, not quite expecting such a reaction from her.

Seeing Naitik like that, she smiled. "Tum hi ne to kaha...is waqt sirf yehi matter karta hai ke hum wapas saath hai…nothing else…"

Naitik just looked at her while Akshara put her head back on his shoulder.

Sorry I had planned to make this chapter longer than most of my chapters...but couldn't do it...anyway Naksh are back together...!! :D I promise the next chapter will be more fun-filled after all the heavy drama...! And an advanced Eid Mubarak to all my readers!! 😃
