Part 9
Akshara was sitting in her living room, waiting for Naitik. He had promised to come at her home that night'.to tutor her. Every time Akshara thought about it, a smile came to her face. Her parents weren't at home though Akshara informed them about Naitik coming over to teach her. She didn't give many details and her mother was certainly not amused by it. But her father trusted her and calmed her mother down. They were gone to her nani's place'.though the rest of her family was still there. But for some reason, she was glad her mother wasn't home and she felt a little bit guilty for thinking that.
The doorbell rang. Bhola went to open the door. Naitik. He came in and looked for her. As soon as he saw her, he was bowled. Naitik always thought Akshara was beautiful but ever since they confessed, Naitik could feel himself falling more and more into her beauty. Even if she was dressed simply, she could be the most beautiful women he had seen.
Akshara introduced him to the rest of her family, her chacha-chachi, dadi and everyone combined before they headed upstairs to Akshara's room. This was the first time Naitik had come in her house. As soon as Akshara shut the door, she turned back at him. He grinned at her.
"You are looking really beautiful," he said.
She suppressed a smile, "Tum bhi bure nahi lag rahe ho."
His face grew serious, "Main humesha accha lagta hu."
Akshara giggled. "Yeah I know."
Naitik furrowed for a while before pointing at the books on her table. Akshara followed his gaze and frowned. Naitik smiled at that.
"Atleast I am better at Maths than you."
Akshara rolled her eyes at him.
Naitik sat on a chair. While Akshara was busy sorting out her books, Naitik leaned back on the chair and looked at Akshara.
"Kuch kehna tha?" Akshara asked him.
"Hmm'."
Akshara looked at him expectantly.
"I couldn't meet your parents today."
Akshara's eyes widen. They were still very early in their relationship. These things come later. Naitik caught the unsure look on her face and smiled.
"Don't worry. Main unse humare bare main baath nahi karta. I just wanted to know your family the way you know mine."
Akshara's face relaxed. The thought how beautifully she had gelled with his family made her very happy. And the thought he wanted to know her family was even more comforting. She sat next to him, putting a smile across her face. The smile he had grown to love. She pulled his hands on hers before dumping her Math book on it. Naitik groaned and Akshara couldn't help laughing. Then Naitik's face adapted a mischievous grin.
"Koi baat nahi. Let's get to work."
The two of them worked on their math for a while. Naitik was quite good at making her understand the sums. They were done within an hour. While teaching her, Naitik noticed the little things in her. About how she kept biting her lips every time she couldn't understand a sum and how she kept playing with the ends of her hair most of the time that evening. Little things that made her more special.
They were done much before they thought they would be and Akshara had to admit he taught her better than she thought.
"Tum itni bhi dumb nahi ho," Naitik playfully told her after they were done.
Akshara could feel blush coming into her cheeks before she hit him lightly on the shoulder.
"Main dumb nahi hu...it's just that math is boring..."
Naitik laughed a, "It's just that you are lazy," he paused to catch her look. She didn't say anything because...it was true.
Naitik slowly headed towards the door of her room before turning back at her.
"Umm'Akshara?" Naitik called her.
Akshara turned to look at him.
He smiled at her before placing a peck on her cheeks. Then he pulled open the door and disappeared before she even had a chance to say anything else.

"Ghar main aur koi nahi hai?" Naitik asked as he made himself comfortable in Rashmi's couch.
Rashmi nodded in a no before turning back at him.
"So plan kya hai?"
Naitik smiled at his best friend. "Nothing. I am tutoring her."
Rashmi's eyes widen. "Kaun se subject main?"
"Math," he grinned at her.
"Very romantic, Romeo," she gave him a thumbs up before rolling her eyes.
"Actually, aur ek cheese bhi hai'."
Rashmi turned back at him. "Kya?"
"Varsha se baat kar raha tha us din. Usne kaha Akshara ka birthday araha he."
Rashmi smiled. "And you want to do something?"
Naitik nodded. "Birthday ke din nahi...uske ek din pehle?"
Rashmi raised her eyebrows in confusion.
"I don't want her to disappear on the day of her birthday," Naitik reminded her lightly.
Rashmi giggled. "I don't remember the last time tum kisi ko lekar itne romantic the."
Naitik smiled wider when Rashmi suddenly seemed to remember something. "Tum kya Akshara ko date par le ja na chahte ho?"
"Main just uss ke liye kuch special kar na chahta hu."
"Matlab date?"
Naitik frowned. A date. Well if spending some time with her alone in a special setting is called date, then maybe it is. But they already had that.
"Rashmi we already had a date few days back," he reminded her about the restaurant incident.
Rashmi nodded' "Par is baar, tum zyada special banana is date ko."

The University classes had resumed after their short vacation. At their lunch break, Naitik was waiting for Akshara at her locker room. Rashmi had told him to ask her out as soon as he could. Akshara came a little later and he was more than happy to see she came alone instead with Varsha. She saw him.
"Hi..." he said as she came over.
"Hi."
"Mujhe tumse baat karni thi," he suddenly felt awkward.
"Bolo'"
"Wo main soch raha tha'if you are free this weekend?"
Akshara suddenly felt nervous. They met alone couple of times since they confessed. But Naitik himself looked a little nervous which made her nervous. She nodded her head.
"Great. Umm'.main soch raha tha..hum kahi bahar jate'I mean all friends."
Akshara nodded at him again, a little confused.
"Ok then," Naitik said, excited.
Rashmi had given Naitik a complete plan. All of the six friends would go out together somewhere first and then Naitik would take Akshara wherever he wanted. And then after they spent enough time they could just join them back again. Rashmi decided it would be a much better excuse to even say at home. Naitik decided it would be a nice surprise for Akshara if he told her on the day itself and catch her unaware. So he didn't say anything more to Akshara then, smiled at her and disappeared down the corridor. This birthday of hers will not be only special to her but also to him.
****I just wanted to remind you guys that since this story is a little different than the show...most of you must be finding the characters little different from the show too...but i guess i had to do it...otherwise i couldn't laid down the story the way i wanted... 😊
