The role of Varsha has instilled confidence in me

Pooja Joshi who essays the role of Varsha in Director's Kut's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus never wanted to get into acting, but is now happy to bag all the limelight with her long-running show. Pooja who started her journey in television with the role of Sanyojita in Prithviraj Chauhan, is now a household name, courtesy her sweet and positive character of Varsha in Yeh Rishta..

So how is Pooja handling the limelight, we ask her. "It has been four years in the industry, and the journey has been quite amazing. I have grown a lot as an actor and also as an individual. While Varsha is the mature, independent girl, I am the complete opposite. I am not so very mature in real life. I am a shy person, an introvert too. Having said this, Varsha has instilled confidence in me, and I am more outgoing."

"Actually when I started, my mother who used to be an anchor on DD1 and Metro, was my inspiration. She was the one who egged me to try my hand in acting," states Pooja.

Talking about the ambience on the sets of Yeh Rishta, Pooja avers, "I love the atmosphere on the sets. It is fun working with the whole team. When it comes to Hina (Khan) and my equation, we are two different entities. She is an extrovert while I am an introvert. I want to have a long career and aim to entertain viewers with good acting."
