Akshara's Column: Naitik's support eases my tensions

Hello readers, as you are aware, our family is going through difficult times. Daddaji is still angry at Naitik and me and the situation at home is at a standstill.

This week too, we were not allowed to interact with the rest of the family. As Naitik and I are not used to these situations, the fights had started to spill into our relationship also. Finally we decided to be each other's support rather than wallowing in self pity. My mom came home and incidentally found out about the division in the house. Though my entire family now knows about the problems at my in-laws' place, I have asked them not to do anything. I hope with time, Naitik and I will be able to soften Daddaji and hope that he forgives us.

Meanwhile, Naitik and I decided to make things easier for us by helping each other to cope with the situation. I got emotional when Naitik and I were having dinner alone. He explained to me that he feels sad when he sees me cry. I realised that I should support Naitik and be strong for his sake. Everyday, every chore is tough for me as I can't help Gayatri Maa and Bhabhi Maa nor take their help. Naitik has been supportive as he helped me in purchasing household items and also helped me in bargaining! His behaviour touched my heart and gave me a reason to smile in these sad times. I feel really lucky that I have such a loving husband like Naitik. When he heard me talking to Varsha about Hrithik's latest film, he suggested that we go out to watch a movie. Naitik helped me in the kitchen by cutting vegetables before we left for the film and next morning, he helped me by preparing breakfast.

Here are some tips on how husbands can help their wives in small ways:

Give your wife a break from cooking by preparing breakfast, lunch or dinner. It need not be a grand or elaborate meal. Even something simple will suffice, as I am sure she will appreciate the effort you put in.

Occasionally, accompany her for shopping, even if you do not enjoy it. She will love to know your opinion and it will help you to understand each other better.

Everyone loves appreciation. Compliment her about small little things that she does for you. This will make her feel loved and special.

Take out sometime from your daily routine to discuss problems or issues that she is facing and try to find solutions together.

If you have kids, do not entrust the entire responsibility of the kids on your wife. Share the responsibility of the kids as this would be a great help for her.

Plan some small surprises for her from time to time to show that you value her.

Lastly make sure that you spend enough time together. Maybe just taking a stroll in the park together, going out for a movie or just relaxing at home together.

Ayesha - hey hi, i m ayesha, n my mom loves ur serial..!!! what i think akshara should go n tell her parents about the split n then make d 2 families talk n akshara's father should kneel down. n a 3rd person may it be dadaji's frnd shld make him realise d mistk he has done. Its not like u can't borrow money n ll. u can all borrow money from ur loved ones in case of emergency..!! and akshara n natik r nt rong dey r rite..!! infact natik's mom should support akshara sit alone n speak to her. She shld nt break d relationship like dis.!!! that is my suggession rest is upto the serial makers. thanksssss
