I don't exactly think that if Akshara had done the same thing Naitik would NOT have forgiven her and that Naitik would have degraded her. Let's not forget till this day NO ONE in his family knows that Rituraj ka Rishta had come for Akshara. I know that the two situations are different but what I mean to say is that if Naitik had wanted at the time of his wedding he could have told his family about that incident especially his mom, and everybody's (especially Gayatri's) perception of Akshara might have been very different today. I mean Akshara never did anything wrong but people would have perceived her to be wrong, just like with Naitik everyone is making their own assumptions without knowing the truth.
Naitik has always wanted complete honesty in his and Akshara's relationship that is the reason for all his outbursts that have happened in the past. Even with the Nandini issue had Akshara NOT lied and been honest with him he would have reacted differently. Even with this Sneha issue we can argue about who right and who's wrong but one thing we can't argue is the fact that Naitik never lied to Akshara, whenever he met Sneha or did anything he always told her the truth.
As far as Naitik being degraded in front of everyone, well we all know that it is coming because from the looks of things Sneha's mom is definitely not going to stay quite. Let's see who actually takes his side. I hope someone at least takes his side.
