One with a cute smile managed to woe the audience within few months of his entry into the television industry. Displaying his brilliant acting skills, Karan Mehra went onto get his first break in television with Rajan Shahi's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. His chemistry with Hina Khan is appreciated by all section of television viewers and his personality makes all the young girls go gaga over him. In a candid interview with Masala Blitz, Karan Mehra speaks about his experience till date and also on his future plans.
Karan has been working with director kut's production house for the past few months. On his experience working in this industry, Karan said, "It has been a nice experience and I have enjoyed my time working for Yeh rishta. I consider myself lucky to have got my break with Director Kut and star plus. It has been really nice journey in the past couple of months and I love my work." Everyone dreams of becoming big one day. So, what about Karan? "I was already into modeling and wanted to get into bollywood. Only then I auditioned for Yeh Rishta and grabbed the role of Naitik. I aspire to become a bollywood actor one day", says the ever smiling actor.
The actor is now working with many seniors in the industry who already have established their place. When asked about his rapport with his co-stars, Karan said, "We have a very cordial relationship and its fun working with them. I feel honored to work with my co-stars." Apart from other co-stars, Karan shares an excellent chemistry with Hina Khan. "Hina is quiet a good actor. It's great fun working with her and she is a good friend of mine. It's nice to share space with her onscreen", quips Karan.
Most of the youngsters these days prefer love marriage but Yeh Rishta is all about love after marriage. When asked Karan what is his choice, he quipped, "Personally I believe in arranged marriage. Our parents have had arranged marriage because of which people like you and me are here. It's good when two families meet and decide about our marriage which is also the base of our show. Two people trying to understand each other after marriage and establishing a relationship is equally exciting."
Naitik in Yeh Rishta kya kehlata hain comes up with brilliant ideas to pacify Akshara aka Hina. So, would Karan also climb the pipeline to meet his love? "Naitik consults his sisters and friend to pacify Akshara. Though I have never climbed a pipeline, if at any moment of my life I have to do so for my love, I would definitely climb one (Laughs). After all, life is all about love", concludes the actor.
Karan before getting into acting was a director. "I always wanted to learn what goes behind the camera. To work as an actor, one has to understand the expectation of a director which is why I entered direction. But right now, I want to focus my career on acting. I will think of going back to direction in the future", quipped the actor when asked if he would pursue his career as a director.
What are your hobbies?
I sketch whenever I get time and I like to take my dog out for walk. I do watch movies and chill out. In the morning I do take my time out for gym as I have to keep myself fit.
Your future plans.
I am now dedicated to Yeh Rishta and will carry on with the show until viewers like seeing me onscreen. As of now I have no plans for any other show but I would focus on bollywood in the coming days. Side by side I am also doing modeling also as it's my passion.
Few days back a flying bee informed us about your girl friend. Would you like to comment something on the same?
Well, it's just a rumor (Laughs). I have couple of known people with me who are also from the same industry and we just know each other. Just few days back I was talking to someone known to me who asked me about my girl friend and I cleared that I am not in relationship. If any day I get into relationship, I will definitely let everyone know about it.
