I think there was a big reason behind it all

the way naitik behaved all those days was too bad

he knew he was wrong cursing RR & akshi & spoiling his own marriage

& it was only becoz of RR's first step that naitik realised how akshi is only his & no RR can come between them. Akshi had shown great maturity by not listening to RR & proving that there was no problem between husband & wife

& this helped even Naitik to show maturity & say sorry for his bad behaviour
