My fundamental issue with karva (apart from the fact that he is married for pete's sake), is that i don't even find any basis for the relationship except.. he was in a horrible marriage... and she came along as a comic relief saying kiddish things

which again i don't get.. the whole thing about OMG how do you rich people live???? (she's known anu for YEARS)

Me too... no basis...

I have been wanting to vent out , and here I go! And it is as per what is shown till date and NOT as per what could have been, if the show wasn't rushed.

One's fault, do not become another's cover/defence!

While there is no debate that Nupur has her ills, it does not become Karthik's reason to whatever he is shown to be doing! I do not expect a cleanse-Nupur project, but, ignore-Nupur is not the answer too.

A hunt for a friend, a father-figure, a confidante

The truth as I see is, post PSs death, the mother was mourning and Sid was too engrossed in his revenge (may rightly be so, that's a discussion aside this topic), that the conversations at Sinha household reduced considerably; no, not stopped. But certainly reduced. And Purva found a friend in Karthik, and did not realise the ways of the world. They had shown that a hug to her dad/bro, she immediately apologises, before being told its OK; she is not going to know the difference between a friend and a partner.

Infatuation is not the same as love

This doesn't need to be described. But, being attracted, being in awe, being pampered, being given time doesn't equate to love.

Blabbering is not communication

At the first instance of knowing Nupur fights with Karthik, Purva proclaims her love. This is not communicating her feelings; this is blabbering at the spur of the moment. This is not the kind of foundation that could take the weight of a relationship. Random words even before formed as concrete thoughts, when spelt out, will just spell doom.

Married life is a give & take

Any marriage, in the initial days goes through lot of turbulence; even in love marriages. As knowing a person and living with the person are totally different things. Miniscule benefit of doubt is that Nupur is not given a chance (other than an odd scenario here and there). And Karthik was busy playing i-am-the-victim.

Separation is key

A much ignored, but a pertinent point, globally is - marriages are done as per rituals and legally. So, a marriage does not end only because of breaking of hearts, dissent of the involved etc; it has to be ended legally. Easily forgotten, but very key to a ethical/civilized society.

Out of frying pan into the fire

This sense of urgency in Karva's situation, where she is just maybe out of her teens and with Karthik who is not even out of his marriage, progressing this any further will not be an epic love; but an epic mistake!

Need of the hour

Purva doesn't need a slap or two! But the support system for her to talk; the shoulder she might be missing. And what Karthik needs is a jolt to reality from his lala land created by running away from issues.

I so loved what Peaches said in this thread. What Purva needs is counselling and a focus on her studies/career. What Karthik needs is a reality-check & mellowing down. They do not need each other at this stage!

Nupur Kartik marriage was for a Reddy Srivastavas buisness merger. KK was eyeing the banking buisness of the Srivastavas! The marriage got arranged and Kartik agreed because at that time he was listening to his appa! Nupur turned out to be strong headed, self centered, do what I want to kinds. Kartik always was hot headed. Their differences arose right from the time they went on honeymoon. Kartik said she was constantly on the phone with her friends or something like that. Both should have worked on their marriages! Whatever attempts were made were feeble! Kartik trying to justify break up saying even if Purva was not there, Nupur and he would have broken up! The onus of maintaining Nupur Kartik relationship was entirely theirs not Purva's.
Purva- No harm in loving anyone! The problem comes when the expectation comes that they love u back! I don't think at any point Purva was trying to impose her feelings! She has always been shown simple, sensible with no complexities. I wasn't surprised to see Gayatri react the way she did. Mother venting out frustration. After a point, Siddhant sould have been the mature one of the lot and counseled his sister just like Prabhakar would have done it! If Siddhant can be objective about his relationship with Anu ( keeps the KK issue aside), the least he could have done was stop Gayatri from physically hitting Purva..taken her aside and spoken to her!
