You guys are amazing and I came to learn so many things I don't know before.. I have seen all episodes but never thought in that depth and now since eyou have decoded some points I get to understand more.
This serial is seriously very thoughtful not just a simple love story like in movie. They are showing how people are in real. And directors , writers all are superb. I am so proud at times of watching this show which has so many things and those who miss it I really feel should once try and see the subtleties of show. You connect with this serial to whom you belong.
I certainly can relate to siddhant's rambling of his school days , about how everyone was mean to him and his inferiority complex , but he didn't not scramble to it but had very much impact on him to became rich.
Many faces these thing in school. But when they grow up many understand how hard it was for their parents to send them to such a prestigious school.
Here siddhant is not thankful to his father which shows he still has to grow up.

Veda... lovely post..I read your post with interest..Since I am not a person given to reading symbolism except at a very elemental level...I had not seen these aspects yet even without reading the narrative in the way it is shown at a symbolic level...the narrative does tie up pretty much in the way you have explained the conflict.

I am summarising the way I read YPN at a broad level...

At one level YPN explores the impact of class differences on the love and at another level ( I am assuming this from what has been said so far) can relationships surmount these differences? How important are means to the end? Prabhakar mentioned two important things which form the fulcrum of this story ( as I see it)

1) Sid is more like Prabhakar than KK. Means matter as much as ends if not more ( remember the criminality point that Prabhakar highlighted to KK in this regard...among their last conversations)
2) Prabhakar saw in Anu the ability to respond to her conscience at all times to become the guiding voice.

Read the above two in conjunction and lovely possibilities emerge for this tale...

My issue with the tale is largely the 2nd point..it is not very evident except in lazy frames.
Other than that... I don't look at everyday conversations between the two with too much interest.

I feel the murder mystery investigation is a pathway of discovery for these two...for Anu...of what makes Sid so... and for Sid... where he stands visa vis his quest for excellence... what is that motivates him...

Hi Khushboo ,
Indeed the serial is full of insight! Very well written series! Enjoy the subtlety! Nothing is OTT!

Hi Rekha,
Thank u for the kind words!
Always good to hear ur perspective as well. Was excited to see u around!

I agree with all ur observations! The series highlighted class differences but by matter of choice. Though Sid /Prabhakar are quintessential middle class, it is by choice that Prabhakar has led that lifestyle. He never struggled for material wealth! KK offered him tangible reinforcement for his contribution, but Prabhakar refused. He is idealistic. Sid on the other hand is capitalist. I feel the class differences are correlated with religious/spiritual aspects generally. The makers are weaving the story beautifully with these aspects.
The state and religion should not be mixed, but is always mixed. I feel more conflicts on our way, with the political ambition of KK and role of China .
We have seen conflicts in the domain- Spiritual, Idealistic vs Capitalist and now maybe Democracy vs Communism.

1. Sid is like KK - PseudoTruth.
Sid= Prabhakar will be proved.
Yes, the awesome conversation between KK and Prabhakar about buisness gains and the 'mansha' or the intent.Prabhakar had said that the difference between a buisness man and a criminal was the intent with which the profits were made even if a buisness man used Saam, daam, dand , bhed to earn profits!

2. Anu and Sid's journey is indeed thru the murder mystery! I feel post Amit Diwan party these two, e specifically Sid has clarity in his feelings for Anu. The hazy picture Is getting ready to emerge with clarity!

I don't think the murder mystery Is ending anytime soon!

Thank you!
True- First episode- Sid's intro he was shown with the Janeu!
Young Siddhant says he is Brahmin - hence is vegetarian !
One should be a vegetarian to go towards Brahmatva..and not be a Brahmin to be a vegetarian!
Don't u think so?

I wasn't sure of this one, had to look up- this is what I found-
Krishna- Lord Krishna
Kant- Beloved
Krishnkant- Krishna beloved god child.
