So I've been out sick with a massive fever which is why I've been severely MIA, but did y'all miss me 😆 KIDDING 😆 I'll talk about today's episode first and then get into the wildly successful episode yesterday. Are the CVs reading our incredible discussions on the forum and getting their shit together? One can only hope 😆
We meet KK sitting with Nanda, and his two sons and Sri's wife. The matter at hand is the loan that Nanda's bank has given KK and Kartik is fighting back. Kartik's bhabhi asks him what's the necessary reason for him speaking to Nanda that way. KK tells Kartik to calm down and speaks to Nanda. KK promises that within a week he will have the money that Nanda requires, even if it means selling his own stock. KK and Nanda smile over their deal and Sri's wife drops her father off before passing a look to Sri. It seems contention exists, she wants Sri to defend her father and yet Sri won't budge in front of his own father. Trouble brewing is possible for the future of Sri and his wife. It seems she's not happy with his complacent nature, but Sri really has no ambition to overstep his father's bounds. He is comfortable just where he is and she is evidently not.
Kartik argues that he won't let KK sell any of his stocks, but KK tells him to learn how to be calm. The next morning, Anushka asks Sri where the airline deal files are and he relays that they're with Sid. She of course grimaces at the thought of having to see him again.
Sidhanth and Sweety Ji are bromancing and working hard 😆 Can I just say for the umpteenth how much I am glad that Sweety Ji exists, he at times is the only silver lining. Sidhanth gets a call saying Anu wants the files. Sid again says that Anu is jealous of him and Sweety Ji again tells him that's impossible, to which Sidhanth asks Sweety Ji if he's on Anu's side 😆. Sidhanth you're dumb 😆
Kartik seems lost in his own thoughts with Sri, Nita and Sri's wife. Kartik is upset at the thought of how much trouble KK's in and he snaps at his family for being inconsiderate and ungrateful. Nita is almost unwavering in her faith in KK. He's a phoenix, I've seen him rise from the ashes. Incredible. KK is such a force to be reckoned with. He falls two steps behind and works thrice as hard to ensure his next move brings him at the least a thousand steps forward. This is a major loss yes, but it's not the end of the world, it is not the ashes, and thus he will rise far above the expectations of those around him. I like him, if only for the shrewd and calculated way his mind works. KK is an incredible businessman and it shows.
Anushka and Prabhakar are shown working hard, and they actually hit the jackpot with a clue. Anushka is able to unscramble the word SHARK from the acronym of names involed in the deal. Nita calls Anushka in the midst of this and finds that she's with Prabhakar. Nita is upset at the thought of this, but Sri cool as ever says its a good thing if she learns a little from Prabhakar. Sidhanth comes home and Gayatri tells him that his father hasn't eaten yet. Gayatri gets slightly mad because Sidhanth ate outside 😆 Sidhanth finds Prabhakar hard at work but with the files Anu had asked for. Sidhanth says 'lagta koi important kaam chal raha hai', Sidhanth asks his father if he can be of any help, to which Prabhakar denies his help. Sidhanth's face falls here when Prabhakar says that one should always do their own work. Even when he doesn't mean to, Prabhakar creates a divide with his son. Sidhanth is willing to help, he is willing ot be there but such a swift rejection will obviously only hurt Sidhanth.
Anushka is in Sidhanth's room, having used his washroom, and starts to roam around, finding a picture of them from years ago. Sidhanth watches her in silence from behind a pillar near his door. These two are so interconnected it's incredible. She looks at his motivation wall, stacked with pictures, motivational quotes, and ideas to live by. Then comes across the table she knows he used to stash chocolates. And finally a flashback! These two young ones are so charming, Anu steals chocolates and talks about the other secrets he's stashed. Present day Anu walks over to the sandook and Sidhanth watches her before making his presence known. 'Dekh lo dekh lo kuch chooth na jaye'. She immediately closes the sandook in embarrassment. Up until that moment, Sidhanth was content with watching her discover his room, and in essence discover parts of him. If he was so adverse to his privacy being violated he would have stopped her up front, but he wasn't. He wanted Anu to see the changes in his room and in him, he wanted her to see those parts of him, the glimpses of him.
Sidhanth asks Anu if she's learning how to be a lawyer or a spy from his father. When she says no to the spy bit, he asks if something of hers has been left behind with him. She says no and he relays that even if something had been left behind, he'd be the first to return it 😆 I think what's so charming about the interactions these two have is the cryptic way they speak to one another. I've spoken at length about this before, but they speak in a way that only merely scratches the surface. Bas upar upar ki baatein. But the meaning behind those words are deeper than the ocean's darkest trenches. There is so much in this one exchange. What have you left behind with Sidhanth, Anu? Is it your heart? Your affection? Your hardened trust? And if it were either of those things, would Sidhanth really relinquish them that easily? Sidhanth's been trying, inadvertently, up until this point to seek even the slightest bit of her approval.
Anushka leaves and Sidhanth begins to undress and freshen up in his washroom when he see's Anu's ring on the bathroom counter. Another flashback, wherein Sidhanth tells Anu that if she leaves something in his washroom again he won't return it and he's not her servant. Present Sid comes out and immediately sees Anu, and hides the ring he's holding of hers. He berates her for not knocking before walking unannounced into his room, as he is obviously without a shirt on 😆. She goes to his washroom to look for her ring and doesn't seem to find it, here she remembers the same fb and is seen telling Sid that just because he won't tell her doesn't mean she doesn't know he has her ring. Anushka walks out of the washroom and looks almost imploringly at Sidhanth. Sidhanth asks 'kya hua' and they both remember Anushka grabbing her ring forcefully from his palm. But so much has changed now and his grip on her ring is tight. Anushka looks so uncertain and Sidhanth almost looks as if he's ready for her to grab it, but Anushka walks away and Sidhanth looks upset, pocketing her ring.
Ah, the push and pull is back! What a beautiful and simple scene. Such an easy premise but iso meaningful. It's only a matter of Anu forgetting her ring in Sidhanth's washroom, but with the correct use of a fb we become aware that this is a habit of hers. And such a small, relatable one, because trust me when I say that I lose every ring on my finger when I go to wash my hands in washrooms 😆 But with Anushka it's so much more because Sidhanth's previous presence in her life meant that she never had to worry about losing anything. He was attentive and focused solely on her. He watched after her and protected her, even in the little things of losing a ring. When she walks out of his washroom knowing full well Sidhanth has her ring, she looks so unsure of herself and even more uncertain of him. The divide between the past and present was so clear and so well done in this scene.
Had it been seven years before she would have rushed in to get her ring back from him and he would have laughed when she ran away. But Anushka doesn't move forward even when it seems like Sidhanth is silently wondering and hoping that she will. When his grip tightens on the ring you can see the small hope in his eyes at her movement, but the second she walks away from him his hold loosens. The tension leaves his body and stares after her in something akin to disappointment. It's in these moments that they share that one wonders what if Anushka had moved forward. What if either one of them had made the first move, what would it have changed? What would it have opened up?
These two know each other so well, but consistently their bias and hurt prevent their judgment from being clear. It's in the small almost perfectly detailed moments where their knowledge of the other is starkingly true, but in the bigger moments surrounded by reality's chaos, this knowing gets lost and their respective defences go shooting up.
KK is shown speaking in Mandarin to a potential deal partner in the middle of the night and tells Nita that he has been learning two months to speak those four lines. KK tells Nita that he has reached the heights he has not tostop, but to continue to thrive forward. Nita asks him if that's true than how has he so quickly forgotten about the airlines deal. We know he hasn't. His gusto, his fervent nature and his even more overzealous and ambitious side, is showing us that he's working thrice as hard to not let the pain of that failed deal get to him.
Kartik is seen getting drunk as a maniac and claims if Prabhakar or Sidhanth come before him now, he'll shoot them. And he pulls out an actual gun. Okay so Kartik is obviously off his rocker. He claims that he won't wait for the right time, he'll make it happen on his own time. UH OKAY PAL you need to take a chill pill? Please take several seats I'm not here for this OTT nonsense. Kartik is becoming quickly unhinged and he's a lot more complex and intelligent than that. He's capable of playing politics well, so we really don't need this unnecessary drama.
Sidhanth wakes up in the middle of the night and pulls the airline deals files from Prabhakar and Gayatri's room. He begins to work on them quietly and just as Anushka had, he comes across the SHARK acronym in the words. He feels so proud of himself but then questions why Prabhakar has been working so hard on this. Come now Sidhanth, if you'd lost something as big as that deal would you not work through every avenue to figure out what went wrong? Losing doesn't settle well with either of the Sinha boys it seems.
Precap - Sidhanth is seen walking into Anushka's office and seems to be pulling stuff out of his pocket, quite possibly her ring 😆 He obviously wants to do it before she arrives so that she believes he has nothing to do with it but Anushka walks up to her office and sees Sidhanth there. Uh oh 😆
As with yesterday's episodes, today's SidKa interactions are becoming just as they were when we initially met them. The push and pull, the back and forth, the soft eyes, the obvious remnants of something existing but not quite. They are able to bring such a small moment with such meaning and strength, that it's impossible to not want these two crazies to get their shit together 😆 In yesterday's episode Sidhanth had told Anu 'na tum badli ho na hum' but the small moment he allowed her to see the glimpses of him, were quite possibly to show her just how true that is. He wanted her to see the things unchanged, the things that have remained the same even when they haven't. Why? Why is it so important for Sidhanth to continue to speak about that? Is it the fear that if things have changed, that if Anu has changed, then what they had before can no longer exist in the same way? But then in the same breath he has spoken at length about how he has changed and is no longer the boy Anu knew, the one who could be used. Sidhanth tohra sa confused hai 😆 Make up your mind my man. Because regardless of the changes, you and Anu will happen. It won't be in the same way it existed in the past, with the lighthearted and easy going friendship that hid something more. Instead it will be the existence of a soft, mature and steadfast love. These two are capable of giving each other the world and creating their own small one within it. It's only a matter of time!
