The episode begins with the Reddys and their petty attitudes. Anushka's bhabhi wears the same dress as Anu and refuses to change 😆 Anu of course tells a small lie about not even liking her dress and goes to change. Upon her departure, her bhabhi tells Sri that she's so glad Anu was the one who bent her will. Which seems to be a running theme in the Reddys, no one is willing to compromise or back down. Except Anushka it seems.
Anu's mom comes to the rescue she brings a beautiful sari and Anu is thrown into a fb with her and Sidhanth. Anushka is practicing how to walk in a sari and continues to mess up. Sidhanth tells her to never wear a sari if she can't walk in one 😆
The Sinhas show up at the party in their classic simplicity and Sidhanth remarks that soon everyone will know who he is, when his sister remarks that their father has walked away because he knows everyone.
OMG guess who shows up! Sweety Ji meri jaan 😆 is at the bar having the time of his life! Why did no one tell me he was going to be there! He calls to Sidhanth from the bar and Sidhanth ignores him to stay with his family for the time being. Their ishaaro ishaaro mein waali communication is so cute and the sign of a strong + steadfast partnership.
Sidhanth ki nazar tik nahi rahi and his sister asks if he's looking for someone 😆 which he classicaly evades.
Srikanth shows up to speak to the Sinhas and calls for Sidhanth as the star of the party. He whisks away Sidhanth to introduce him to his friends. But the moment is interrupted and Sidhanth runs to Sweety Ji. I love these two so much! Sweety Ji talks about how he showed up at 8 on the dot to get his 'free ki daaru'.
Purva and her mom pass the time and she asks her mother who she knows at the party. This was a cute scene and a perfect segue into different scenes/character introductions. This episode was very good at establishing the natural relationships and interactions between them. Sri and his mother, Anu and her mother, Purva and Gayatri, Sidhanth+Purva+Gayatri. Each character is shown perfectly in relation to the others, it's a nice balance to some shows that forget their characters exist. 😆 Even the use of Sweety Ji in this episode was very well done.
Anushka shows up looking beautiful as ever and Sidhanth can't look away. Make it any more obvious you're looking at her you fool! He can't help the smile that graces his face and he looks completely at a loss for words. Sidhanth's expressions are so natural and genuine. He's in shock that Anushka can walk in her sari and breaks into laughter. I can't believe this fool. His face that ENTIRE scene was something to behold. Someone please gif/cap this because I need to relive the moment over and over. The pure unadulterated joy on his face when he sees her and the realization that she's now a woman of sari walking caliber was too much for this puppy. I love that he never hides how he's feeling, he never conceals the obvious expressions on his face.
KK introduces Anu to some particulars and Sidhanth continues to ghoor. Anu it seems can feel his stare like an annoying pinprick at her back and looks back at him moment to moment. Sidhanth likens Anu to a jellyfish, while talking with Sweety Ji, beautiful on the outside but when she stings, it kills. Sidhanth, Sidhanth, Sidhanth, when will the sting of your heartbreak let you go. Sidhanth also laments to Sweety Ji about how his father hasn't introduced him to anyone, that all other fathers would push their sons forward with pride, but not Prabhakar Sinha 😆 Sour brat. 😆
The shrewd prosecutor shows up at the party and Sidhanth tells Sweety Ji to keep an eye on him and how he'll keep his nazar on someone else aka Anu. Mahi how many stares for the count can we add post this episode because on Sid's end it was one long continuous stare after another 😆
Srikanth steals Anu from her father and tells her he wants her to join him in thanking Sidhanth. Karthik stops Anu and tells her she's looking gorgeous but as she walks away something in Karthik's stare is unsettling. Sri introduces Sidhanth to his friends with Anu in tow. Anu says she won't be drinking and Sidhanth says he'll take her share, 'aaj to behekne ka haq hai humara' while giving bedroom eyes to Anu. UFFF 😳 Sidhanth this is a family function can you relaX! He may be drinking in spades, but he's drinking in the sight of Anushka more than anything else. Sri asks Sidhanth if he's okay when he grabs for Sid's arm and Sidhanth says 'pyar main dhoka khaya te humne, kal raat suicide karni ki koshish ki thi'. Sidhanth squares up with Anushka and asks her if she's told Prabhakar about his stint. Hawww is this fear I sense from the almighty Sidhanth 😆 But she asks what does he think? And walks away. It seems his dhoka resides in Anushka's offhanded comment to expose him to his father, and the ramifications of that are something he doesn't want to deal with.
The precap is more longing stares from Mahadev ka bhakt Sidhanth jo Mahadev ko chodh kar, puri Anushka ki sharddha main laga hai. 🤣 Anu dances with Kartik and when he spins her away she falls, only to be caught by a ready Sidhanth, who seems to always be ready to catch her. One can't help but draw parallels to the trust fall flashback, he seems to have caught her again. But when will he catch her with no intention of ever letting her go, is the real question 😳
It's interesting how openly obvious Sidhanth made of his wistful gazes at Anushka today. He didn't care who looked, least of all her. He didn't care if anyone noticed. He continued to stare, to gaze with every bit of fulfillment he wished. The moment at the bar where he drinks in the sight of her and says 'aaj to behekne ka haq hai humara', it's like he's laying an open stake of his right to do so. His right to look at her as he wishes, his right to ask her the things he does, the right to fall back behind her to catch her from hitting the ground. He had asked her yesterday 'kiska haq hai humari jaan pe' but Sidhanth has already answered this question for himself. Jitna haq woh jitaa tha hai, he allows for Anushka to do the same.
It is so hard to be in a relationship of indifference with someone you've known for so long. Someone who once held the best parts of you, the most intimate parts of you. How do you go back to being strangers? The answer is you don't. You enter a space that is suspended in time, where you stop or the other does, where you want to start and the other doesn't. It's awkward and uncomfortable, and yet so many of those moments echo and ache of familiarity. Yet some of those moments are new. The way Sidhanth sought after Anushka today, was new. Almost like an awakening of sorts, of his own heart or own desire, he won't realize it until much later. But for now, he catches her in his arms and her stunned eyes can't look away, and I'm going to revel in seeing that moment tomorrow. 😳 I'm also going to need the talented folks on here to come out in droves and gif the heck out of it COOL THNX. 😆
