You always have a thing called remote control. If you do not like the track/story/show which is going on on TV, you can switch it off or change the channel.

Why do that based on some rumours? It takes a second to change the channel.

Why do things on assumption? Quit the show if you do not like the show, not because you believed something which you do not know is true or not.
