Now I think thy wer way ahead of it's time.. if they bring back now thy wud definitely click..👍🏼
Vi!
Powder!! What an amazing show it was. And Rishta.com was one of my most favourite ones. I rarely could identify with FLs of any show except, Isha Mirchandani (Shruti Seth). And Rohan Mehra was probably the only ML whom I could like in spite of being a rascal. He was a loveable rascal. :-D
While I did like the taking of Mahi Way, I never did understood or identify with her. But it was fun for sure.
I did try to watch a couple of episodes of Beyadh. I have to be honest, I do not like Kushal Punjabi or Jennifer Winget (I never saw the other lady before and her screeching voice put me off instantly). It was watched in the hope of something interesting and the hope vanished fast.
I am a sucker for dark stuff. But Beyadh was trying to be dark (and plot holes were too many). I sometimes wonder if they do not have a budget for a continuity director.
Now coming back to your original point, I agree with the part of story being a bit hey ware. Here I will agree with what Jane said. It seem the new track is channel trying to ride on the existing buzz around the new film. (For all we know the cast of the film might appear to make a promotion of their film and so the track is being shown. It is not unheard of.)
I did like the strong characterization which was shown in the initial episodes. I did feel some of it was lost in a few recent episodes. I still feel Mukhi ji is going strong. (I really am curious who was the one who chalked this one character.) Aru IS a bit lost.
As for the story, it is said that all stories are about a journey. You leave from a point (may it be a real place or journey in life), and reach another and that becomes a story.
(There is also one more quite which says all stories are either a stranger coming to a new place or a person leaving for a strange place.) We had both in this case. But so far none of it is used very well.
I have to say initial episodes did show some good writing both in terms of characters and some interesting plot lines. (Dialogues were good too, a lot of them still are)
But the focus is a bit lost. I am not sure what is the reason. And I am definitely not going to give up on this unless they kill the characters too. But so far characters have not gone down the drain.
I agree, Aru has suddenly lost her brains. (It seems water tank ke paani me beh gaye) :-D
When I was learning script writing, it was a course for film script writing but our teacher (who was a veteran script writer), kept one day for how to write for documentary films and one for how to write for Hindi serials. (It was not expected that he teaches us that).
He told us, whatever I taught you about character development, story arcs, plot point, remember all that and then flush it down the toilet along with your logic and self respect and then write a soap. :-D
(I heard things have changed a lot for the industry since 2006 but I still hear a few horror stories from a few industry friends)
