"Giraavi" , a word in Hindi which means a collateral. Aru, used this word to describe her treatment by Mishri.
And while what Mishri did was not forgivable, it will be unfair to lay the blame squarely at the feet of Mishri and Mishri alone.
It WAS true that Dharmi ran away taking so much of money without once thinking about her family which was going to be left to face the music.
And the one who offered the first collateral was Aru's own mother. It was her who suggested this exchange of one daughter for another.
While Mishri lied about Mukhi's consent, Aru's mom was not really keen on Mukhi's consent when she offered this option. She was not really asking for Aru's consent. If someone treated Aru like a commodity, it was her parents.
Mishri did this to make her brother's life , less lonely. But Aru's parents actually used her as collateral (Giraavi) to save their neck.
