CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

SAMEER

"Nanu... Maa... Aap log yahaan kya kar rahe hai?" We all were surprised to see them sitting with Mr Vijay Mittal. We entered his beautiful mansion. I & Naina bent forward to take blessings from Nanu & Maa, then turned towards Mr Vijay Mittal. Naina was surprised when I pulled her down to take his blessings too.

"Jeete raho Sameer, Naina..." I held her by her shoulder & introduced again, "Naina... Tum yeh toh jaanti ho ki yeh Mr Vijay Mittal hai, aur yeh bhi ki yeh Nanu ke acche dost hai, par ek baat hai jo maine tumhe kal nahi bataayi thi. Aur wohh yeh hai ki Vijay uncle hi mere mentor hai, jinhone mujhe business ke saare tactics sikhaaye. Nanu ne mujhe Maheshwari Industries ki kamaan thamaayi, raasta dikhaaya, par udnaa mujhe Vijay uncle ne sikhaaya, kya sahi hai, kya galat, iski pehchaan inhone karvaayi. Aaj main jo bhi hun wohh inn dono ki wajah se hi hun Naina."

Naina was stunned to hear that & she looked up at him with more respect. Vijay uncle moved forward & blessed him again, "Maine bhale hi tumhe udnaa sikhaaya ho, par tumne bhi kuch kam mehnat nahi ki hai Maheshwari Industries ko itne ooncke mukaam tak laane mein. Main bohot khush hun tumhaari yeh udaan dekhkar, bas aise hi udte rehna aur tarakki karte rehna."

We hugged each other & then took blessings from her wife, Mrs Rekha Mittal. She blessed us wholeheartedly. Maa, aunty & the girls went to the kitchen to bring breakfast to the table while we kept discussing about work. When we settled on the dining table for the meal, Vijay uncle asked, "Sameer beta... tumne kal ke announcement ke baare mein kya socha hai?"

I looked at Nanu, "Hum pehle Nanu se discuss karna chaahte hai, fir hi kuch decide karenge." Vijay uncle peered at Nanu, "Maanna padega... Aaj bhi Sameer aapse hi sab decisions poochkar karta hai. Accha hai, warna aajkal ke bacchon ko kahaan kisise poochne ki padi hai, wohi karte hai jo unhe thik lage, jo unke faayde ka ho."

Nanu agreed, "Sahi kahaa Vijay... Bhale aaj Sameer hamari Maheshwari Industries sambhaalta hai, par har ek decision mujhse salaah lekar hi karta hai, par aaj main yeh faisla Sameer par chodta hun. Main chaahta hun ki ab wohhh aage badhe, apne faisle khud le. Aur fir main toh hun hi unki madad karne ke liye."

"Nanu... bhale main kitna hi bada kyon naa ho jaaun par rahunga toh aapka baccha hi naa? Toh aap bhool hi jao ki main aapki raay ke bina koi decision lunga. Toh bataaiye, kya hume Vijay uncle ki partnership ke liye participate karna chahiye?"

He looked lovingly at me, "Mera baccha aaj tak kisi cheez mein haara nahi hai, toh main yahi kahunga ki participate karo aur khudko iss kaabil banao ki tum Vijay ke business mein partner ban sako. Isse accha mauka tumhe kabhi nahi milega Sameer. Tumhe tumhare mentor ke saamne khud ko prove karna hai aur uss laayak banna hai ki itni badi responsibility sambhaal sako. Main aur mera aashirwaad toh hamesha tumhare saath hi hai aur hamesha rahenge. Toh barkhurdaar, deri kis baat ki hai?"

I smiled amidst tears & nodded. Naina held my hand below the table & squeezed it lightly. "Vijay uncle hum aaj hi hamari company ka naam register kar dete hai." He looked elated with the news & somewhere I could see Nanu & Maa happy too. We finished our breakfast with lots of laughter & fun.

"Sameer... Hume batao toh sahii, aakhir wohhh puranawaala khadoos Sameer Maheshwari kaise aur kahaan gaayab ho gaya? Aakhir aisa kya hua ki aaj tum Naina se thodi der ke liye bhi dur nahi reh paate? Tumhari maa hume yahi bataa rahi thi thodi der pehle.", Rekha aunty asked in a teasing way. "Haannn... haannn... batao batao... zara hum bhi toh sune aakhir hamara Sameer itna badal kaise gaya?", Vijay uncle continued the teasing.

I saw Naina turning beetroot in mere seconds while my own best friends sniggered. Nanu & Maa coughed hiding their laughter. I didn't know how & from where to start. But I knew I had to tell them as they always treated me like their own son, as they didn't any have kids of their own.

Taking a deep breath, I narrated my own love story to the most precious people of my life. Though my friends & family knew about certain things but even they weren't aware of everything. They too heard my each & every word & were surprised to hear the whole thing. I gazed at Naina & she too added her part wherever she felt it was needed.

It was way past lunchtime that we finished telling our beautiful tale. "Bhai waahhhh... Sameer... main toh bohot khush hun ki tumko Naina mil gayi aur Naina... hamara Sameer jitna bahaar se kathor dikhta hai na, utna hi dil se ekdum naram aur saaf hai. Kisi ko jaanbujhkar hurt nahi karta. Par ek baat hai agar kisine iske apno ko taklif dene ki yaa hurt karne ki koshish bhi ki naa toh fir Sameer kisiki nahi sunta.", Vijay uncle warned.

Rekha aunty caressed her face lovingly, "Naina... Tum bohot lucky ho jo tumhe Sameer jaisa jeevan saathi mila. Main jitna usse jaanti hun, usse yeh keh sakti hun ki Sameer tumhe har wohh khushi dega jiski tum hakkdar ho, bohot pyaar karega tumse. Humne toh usse bachpan se hi dekha hai, samjha hai. Aur ab Sameer se sab sunne ke baad, hume yakeen hai ki tum bhi usse itna hi pyaar karti ho aur hamesha usse khush rakhogi. Bas kabhi hamare Sameer ka saath mat chodna. Bohot mushkil daur se guzra hai hamara baccha."

"Aunty... main Sameer se bohot pyaar karti hun aur aap sabse promise karti hun ki main Sameer ka saath kabhi nahi chodungi, uske har sukh aur dukh mein saath rahungi. Main kisiko bhi shikaayat ka mauka nahi dungi. I promise." She said the last line gazing at me which held a promise of togetherness till eternity. I saw her misty eyes which only reflected love & respect.

Nanu & Maa informed them about our upcoming marriage which would take place in the next few months & they were ecstatic. By the time we left their home, it was evening & we rushed to pack our belongings as we had late night flight. Nanu & Maa decided to stay with them for few more days & would come back with them.

Once we were done packing, we ordered for some snacks before we left towards the airport. It was early morning when we reached home, all exhausted. The next few days were busy in office as we started preparations to make presentation to win the partnership of Mittal Empire. Nanu & Maa were back too.

The days passed by & everyone gave their best to add their outputs to the most important presentation. We being one of the best manufacturers of the cloth industry & also being a part of the renowned brand, we made sure that we launch our own boutiques in all the hotels of the Mittal Empire.

Munna & Pandit took care of launching new designs while Naina & I took care of the price to be quoted for the tender & the main presentation itself. Preeti & Swati helped us with all the information that we needed to make the presentation. We worked till late nights for three weeks continuously to make the best of the best offer.

There was still one week left to submit our proposal. It was Sunday & we decided to get some rest that day so that we could get back to work with fresh minds the next day. Munna, Pandit, Swati & Preeti had come to our place for lunch. It was after a long time that we were together & having some family time.

"Bacchon... Agar tumhe koi help chahiye ho toh bataa dena." "Nanu... Aap chinta mat kijiye, sab almost ho hi gaya hai. Bas thoda final touches dene hai. Do teen din mein wohh bhi ho jaayega.", I said while relishing the lunch made by Maa & Naina. "Waise Nanu... Jab sab ready ho jaayega toh kya aap usse ek baar dekh lenge? Aapki raay bohot maayne rakhti hai hamare liye.", Naina asked hesitantly.

"Arey Naina... yeh bhi koi poochne ki baat hai? Tum jab kahogi, main office aa jaunga. Bas jab proposal ready ho jaaye toh mujhe bataa dena, main fauran aa jaunga. Waise bhi ghar pe bore hi ho raha hun." My heart swelled in pride after hearing Naina. After lunch, we had left to our rooms to rest for a short nap.

In the evening we decided to go for a movie to refresh our minds. Nanu & Maa had to visit some relative for an engagement & so they didn't join us. We reached the mall & we booked the tickets for the movie, 'Andhadhun' starring Ayushmaan Khurana. All of us enjoyed the movie after a longtime.

Once we came out of the multiplex, we decided to have dinner in the same mall. We were about to enter into a restaurant when suddenly Kartik & Sunaina appeared in front of us from nowhere. I wasn't shocked to see them there as I was used to their presence everywhere now.

"Hey Sameer... kaise ho? Bohot din baad mile na?", Sunaina asked sweetly looking at Naina & my friends. "Main toh bohot mazze mein hun.", I replied skipping the other question altogether. Kartik understood & replied, "Arey Sunaina... Tum nahi jaanti, Sameer accha presentation banane mein busy hai, isliye nahi dikha itne din se. Par aaj inn sabko yahaan dekhkar lagta hai ki inka proposal ready ho gaya hai, warna yahaan aise ghoomte hue nahi milte. Kyun Sameer???"

His direct question about the proposal put me on high alert. I don't know why but I wasn't getting a good feeling about this. There was definitely something that I wasn't able to see, but what??? I just smiled in response, "Mere peeche detectives toh nahi lagaaye na tumne, jo mere har pal ki khabar hai tumhare paas???"

He just chuckled, "Ho bhi sakta hai?" His reply wasn't what I had expected him to say which made my intuitions strong this time. Naina's hold on my arm tightened the same way as if feeling my inner turmoil. "Well... Sameer Maheshwari... Iss baar tum mujhse haar jaaoge, main hi yeh partnership jitunga, tumhe aur tumhare dosto ko haraaunga. Tum sab milkar bhi mujhse jeet nahi paaoge. Mittal Empire ka partner toh main hi banunga. Dekh lena..."

I wanted to punch him straight on his face, somehow I controlled my anger & smiled, "Wohh toh hum ek hafte baad dekh hi lenge Kartik. All the best... And excuse us. You see we are here to enjoy family time. So, excuse me..." Everyone gave them fake smiles & entered the restaurant. Though my mood was spoiled, but I couldn't let it show on my face.

We settled down & ordered dinner. Forgetting all about Kartik & his talks, we concentrated on the meal & relished it as each one of us was famished. We ordered for icecream at the end & then left towards our homes. When we reached home, Nanu & Maa had already retired to their rooms.

I freshened up & without wasting anytime, I rushed towards the terrace. It was after a long time that we were here. When I reached, her fragrance hit me first & I stood at the door gazing at her. She turned & looked straight at me, her face glowing under the moonlight. I walked towards her slowly while her eyes stayed glued on me.

When I reached her, she got up & rushed in my arms. I took her in my arms pressing her more towards me. She gave in & murmured, "I missed you..." I chuckled, "Hum kuch der pehle tak saath hi the Naina..." She didn't say anything for a while, "I missed your touch Sameer. Hum saath toh the par the toh durr hi naa. Hum aaj terrace pe bhi teen hafte baad aa rahe hai. Kitna miss kiya hai maine iss jagah ko aur khaaskar yeh."

Before I could understand anything, she had claimed my lips desperately. I groaned & tightened my hold, taking full control of the kiss. Her hands wrapped around my neck while I moved my hands from her waist to her back slowly. She shuddered in my arms feeling my movements. When we came up for air, I saw her swollen lips & I couldn't resist anymore. I claimed her lips again in a rough kiss letting my control snap. This time when we couldn't breathe anymore, I moved my lips towards her jaw & neck, giving her open mouth kisses. She shivered in my arms & moaned loudly fueling my desires.

Her hands from my neck moved towards my back & slowly under my t-shirt. I groaned feeling her hands on my bareback. I turned her swiftly & my hands wrapped around her stomach. We were panting heavily. I moved my hands under her t-shirt this time & my lips trailed from her neck to her shoulder slowly.

"I missed you too Naina..." My hands burning when it started its adventures upwards. I heard her sharp intake of breath at my action. I looked at her closed eyes & her soft smile, giving me her acceptance to my explorations. I knew I had to stop before it was too late to withdraw. I slowly brought down my hands & stopped at her navel. I saw the mark that I had given her in Goa had faded.

Without waiting anymore, I ducked my head & bit on her shoulder. She yelped again & I sucked her skin to sooth her pain. I whispered, "Jab jab yeh mark jaayega, main dusra de diya karunga, taaki tumhe yaad rahe that you are mine, you belong to me Naina..." She turned & hugged me tightly, "I'm all yours Sameer. I love you..."

She sat on the swing & I slept on her lap. Her fingers weaved through my hair & I was home. "Sameer... Mujhe kuch poochna hai?" "Tumhe kab se meri permission leni ki zarurat pad gayi Naina? Jo bhi poochna hai tum mujhse pooch sakti ho, uske liye kabhi permission lene ki koi zaraurat nahi hai tumhe, samjhi???"

She blinked, "Tumhe Kartik ka behavior kuch alag aur ajeeb nahi lagaa? Matlab confidence hona acchi baat hoti hai, par Kartik kuch jyada hi over confident hai ki usse wohh partnership mil jaayegi. Tumhe kya lagta hai Sameer?"

I agreed with her, "Haaannnn Naina... mujhe iss baar alag hi intuitions aa rahe hai usse related, as if wohh kuch plan kar raha hai hamare khilaaf. I don't know why but something is definitely wrong. I'm not getting good vibes about all this." "Haannn Sameer. Uske behavior mein kuch toh alag tha aaj."

I closed my eyes & thought about it, & then suddenly something clicked. Both of us looked at each other at the same time, "Kya tum wohi soch rahe ho jo main soch rahi hun Sameer???", she asked. "Tum kya soch rahi ho?", I asked & she told me about it & she had rightly guessed, we were thinking the same.

"Toh ab kya karna hai Sameer?" "Wohi jo sahi hai. Jo chal raha hai usse chalne do." I told her my plan & she sat there motionless, "Are you sure Sameer, hume yeh karna chahiye?", she asked hesitantly. "Naina... we don't have any other choice. Risk toh lena padega, warna hum sab kuch kho denge. Hamara kaam thoda badh jaayega par hume yeh karna hoga Naina. Yeh partnership hamare liye aur hamari company ke liye bohot important hai."

She agreed, "Thik hai Sameer. Let's do this." "Naina... Yaad rakhna yeh baat kisiko pataa nahi chalni chahiye, hamare doston ko bhi nahi." She looked stunned for a moment but then agreed. "Naina... Aisa nahi hai ki main unn par bharosa nahi karta, par abhi ke liye let's just keep them away from this. Agar unhe pataa chal gaya, toh wohh shant nahi baithenge. And for now, even we aren't sure about it." "Tum sahi keh rahe ho Sameer. Hum dono sab manage kar lenge. We sat there for some more time discussing our plan in detail & then left to our rooms.

The next day arrived soon for us & we again got busier in doing the extra work we were planning for. Kamya entered our cabin to deliver our lunch & coffees with snacks at intervals. The days passed soon & the final day arrived when we were going to submit our proposal to Mr Vijay Mittal.

There were six more companies who had participated including Kartik's. All of us were given an hour to present our proposals & submit our quotations. We were the last one to go inside the cabin for that. Once all the companies were done with their proposals, Mr Vijal Mittal came outside to announce, "Thanks to all of you for your active participation. Hum iske results kal subah declare karenge. Thanks again everyone, kal subah dus baje yahi milenge."

Saying that, he disappeared inside his cabin. All of us left his office premises. We were walking towards our car in the parking lot, when someone called from behind, "Sameer..." I turned to look at Kartik who was walking with a smirk on his face. I so wished to wipe that smirk from his face but I remained quiet & smiled, "Bolo Kartik? Kuch kaam hai tumhe?"

"Arey nahi... Main toh yeh baatane aaya tha ki kal shaam ko maine mere jeetne ki khushi mein ek badi party organize ki hai mere ghar pe, toh tum Naina aur apne friends ke saath zaroor aana. I will be waiting for you..." "Waahhhh Kartik... Maanna padega... Results declare hone se pehle hi tumne khud ko winner maan liya. Not bad huh."

"Sameer... Sameer... Sameer... Maine kahaa tha naa tumse ki yeh partnership meri hi hogi aur kal subah tum khud wohh sunoge." Naina stepped ahead, "Kartik... Tumhe nahi lagta ki tum kuch jyada hi overconfident ho? Confidence hona acchi baat hai par over confidence hamesha insaan ko le doobta hai. I'm sure tumne yeh sunaa hoga kabhi na kabhi."

He smiled, "Tum dono chaahe jo bhi samjo, mera confidence ya overconfidence, jeetne waala toh main hi hun. Tum kal acche se dekh lena Sameer." We smiled, "Thik hai Kartik. Hum kal sunn bhi lenge aur dekh bhi lenge." I turned to Naina, "Chale sweetheart..." She looped her hand in my arm & we walked towards our car.

Once we settled in the car, Naina spoke, "Sameer... I hope humne jo kiya hai wohh sahi hai. Ab kal subah tak wait karna padega." "Naina... Humne jo kiya hai wohh sahi hai aur hume iska natijhaa kal hi pata chalega. Chalo ab yeh sab baatein chod dete hai aur thodi pet pooja kar lete hai, mujhe bohot bhook lagi hai."

She squinted her eyes at me, "Abhi thodi der pehle hi toh sandwich khaaya tha. Waapis itni jaldi bhook lag gayi?" I pouted & rubbed my stomach, "Haannnn..." She laughed out & were drove to the nearest restaurant & ordered snacks.

When we reached home, we saw our friends waiting for us with Nanu & Maa. "Arey Sameer... Naina... tum dono aa gaye? Aao yahaan baitho, main abhi coffee banaa kar laati hun.", Maa walked towards the kitchen & we settled beside Nanu. Once Maa was back, Nanu asked, "Sameer... Ab batao. Kaisa hua presentation?"

I & Naina shared a look & then I told them what we both had done at the last minute. Everyone was stunned after I finished speaking. "I'm sorry... Humne aap sabko iss mein involve nahi kiya. Hum koi bhi risk nahi lena chaahte the." I looked at my friends, "Main tum sab par apne aap se bhi jyada vishwas karta hun par humne jo bhi kiya usmein hum tum logon ko problem mein nahi daalna chaahte the."

Naina continued, "Hume lagaa ki agar tum logon ko involve karenge toh tumhara kaam bhi badh jaayega aur koi aur chaukanna bhi ho jaayega, jo hum bilkul nahi chaahte the. Please hume maaf kar dena, humne bohot badi baat aap sab se chupaayi hai." Before our friends could say anything, Nanu interrupted, "Sameer... Naina... Tum dono ne jo bhi kiya usse main sehmat hun. Bas kal ka intezaar hai, dekhte hai Vijay Mittal kal kya decision leta hai."

"Sameer... hum tum dono se naaraaz hain par hum yeh bhi samajte hai ki tumne yeh sab kyun kiya. Accha hi hua ki tumne hume kuch nahi bataaya warna sach mein hum kuch gadbad zaroor kar dete. Aur tumhara accha khaasa plan chaupat ho jaata.", Munna said with a smile.

"Ab toh kal subah ka hum sabko besabri se intezaar rahega. Tum dono ne jo bhi kiya hai wohh sahi tha. Ab dekhte hai Kartik Singhania ka kal kya natijhaa nikalta hai.", Pandit chuckled. I & Naina sighed in relief that no one was angry that we kept away such a big thing from them.

NAINA...

I was relieved that our friends weren't upset with us after we had kept such important plan away from them. Now we all were waiting for the next day when the results would be out. While dinner, I saw Sameer a little tensed. I needed to talk to him but that would have to wait till we get some alone time on terrace.

Once Maa & Nanu retired to their rooms, I pulled Sameer towards the terrace. As usual, I sat down on the swing & he slept on my lap. He was more quiet tonight. "Sameer... tum itna chup kyun ho? Kya soch rahe ho?" He met my eyes, "Naina... mujhe Vijay uncle ka phone aaya tha, unhone jo mujhse kahaa uske baad yeh pataa chal gaya ki hamara shak sahi tha."

My hands froze in his hair & he continued, "Naina... Hamari company mein aisa koi hai jisne hamara presentation churaaya aur Kartik ko de diya. Vijay uncle ne mujhe bataaya ki humne unhe jo purana presentation bheja tha, Kartik ka presentation same hi hai, sab kuch same hai Naina... Iska matlab samajti ho tum?"

When he didn't hear anything from me, he got up from my lap & pulled me in his arms. My trance broke & I realized that I got tongue tied hearing his words. "Naina... Humne jo bhi kiya thik hi kiya tha. Bas ab mujhe yeh jaanna hai ki wohh kaun hai jisne hamara presentation Kartik ko leak kiya. Aur wohh jo koi bhi ho, usse main chodunga nahi. Hamari company mein rehkar humse cheating kar raha hai, hamari information Kartik ko bataa raha hai."

Finally finding my voice, I spoke, "Mujhe ab bhi yakeen nahi ho raha ki koi hamara presentation aise leak kar sakta hai. Sameer... hume jald se jald uska pataa lagaana hoga, agar usne hamare company ki saari details Kartik tak pohoncha di toh hume aage chalkar bohot nuksaan ho sakta hai."

He hummed in response, "Main jaanta hun Naina aur issi baat ka ab mujhe bhi thoda tension ho raha hai. Wohh jo koi bhi ho, hume pataa lagaana hoga aur isiliye maine aur Vijay uncle ne kuch socha hai. Aur isme mujhe tumhari aur hamare friends ke help lagegi."

I kissed him softly on his cheek, "Yeh bhi koi kehni ki baat hai kya? Main hamesha tumhara saath dungi Sameer. Aur hamare friends bhi hamesha hamare saath hi khade rahenge. Bas hume yeh dhyaan rakhna hoga ki hum koi bhi baat office mein nahi karenge. Jo bhi plan banana ho wohh yahin ghar mein karna hoga, taaki kisiko hamare plan ki zara bhi bhanak naa lage."

Sameer touched his forehead to mine, "Jaisa tum kaho Mrs Maheshwari..." Before I could say anything, he kissed me passionately making me forget all the worries for a while. When we came up for air, I saw the desire in his eyes which turned me into jelly within seconds.

"Sameer..." I whispered huskily. He groaned, "Naina... Please aisa mat karo tum. Main... main... khudko control nahi kar paaunga, fir mat kehna kuch." I loved the way he was stuttering which broke my resistance & I claimed his lips. My hands went around his neck & he tightened his hold on my waist.

This time when we came up to breathe, I hid my face in his chest & hugged him tightly, controlling my own urges. When we both calmed down, he whispered, "Chalo Naina... Late ho gaya hai. Hume sona chahiye, kal jaldi bhi toh uthna hai na."

I didn't leave him & asked hesitantly, "Kya hum aaj raat ek saath so sakte hai?" I don't know why I felt the need to be close to him tonight & couldn't stop myself from asking this. He whispered hoarsely, "Tumhare iraade kuch nek nahi lag rahe mujhe Mrs Maheshwari. Kya karne ka iraada hai huh?"

I sensed his teasing & played along, "Haaa iraade toh bikul bhi nek nahi hai Mr Maheshwari. Aur mere iraade kya hai wohh toh room mein chalne ke baad hi pataa chalenge." He raised his eyebrows, "Acchaa ji..." I copied his expressions, "Haaannnn ji..."

He picked me up in his arms & I shrieked, "Yeh... yeh tum ka kar rahe ho? Mujhe abhi ke abhi neeche utaaro." He didn't comply & started walking downstairs towards his room. "Ab tumhe main hamare kamre mein hi neeche utaarunga." I knew he won't listen to me anymore till we reached his room. I moved closer & hid my face in his neck.

I felt his shiver when I peppered some kisses on his neck, his hold tightened & he walked briskly towards his room. Once in the room, he closed the door with his leg & walked towards the bed. He put me down & came on me pushing me more into the mattress. "Sameer... tum..."

Before I could say anything, he claimed my lips hungrily pouring all the love & desire he felt for me. I responded with the same intensity forgetting that the door wasn't locked, the main lights were still on & the windows of his room were still open. My hands automatically moved inside his shirt & he removed it in a swift move.

My heartbeats accelerated when I saw his bare chest after a long time. My hands trembled when I started moving my hands on his bare chest. I could clearly feel that he was breathing heavily & was controlling himself. His hands were fisted on my sides. I looked into his deep chocolaty eyes which were darkening with my small assaults.

I held his gaze & moved my hands from his bare chest to his bare back, pulling him to me. Because of the sudden pull, his full body weight came on me, crushing me below him. I could sense his growing hardness. Before he could move away, I wrapped my hands around his back & whispered, "Stay..."

I felt him shudder hearing my words & he gave in. "Naina... Tum jaanti ho na, tum kya kar rahi ho?" I kissed his neck & whispered, "Haaannnn... Jaanti hun." His eyes locked with mine & then he descended to my lips, taking me in for a passionate kiss, my hands frantically moved over his bare back & he rolled me over to his side without breaking the kiss.

My skin burnt under his touch. His fingers trailed its journey from my lower back & moved upwards. I sensed his hesitation but after a while, his hands moved upwards on my bare back & stopped, "Naina... tumne... tumne... kuch nahi pehna andar???" All the breath whooshed out from my lungs when I heard his question.

When I didn't reply, he whispered again, "Naina... I Love You. Bas ab uss waqt ka intezaar hai jab sahi maayne mein tum meri biwi banogi, Mrs Naina Sameer Maheshwari banogi. Uske baad hum dono ke beech koi dooriyaan nahi hogi. Samajh rahi ho na?" I looked at his hooded eyes & nodded, "I Love You too Sameer... Main bhi intezaar karungi uss din ka..."

Moving his hands out from my kurta, he kissed my forehead, "Ab so jao... Warna main sach mein tumhe poori raat sone nahi dunga." I chuckled at his not so innocent threat & murmured, "Goodnight..." I snuggled more into him & he wished back, "Goodnight Jaan..."

When next morning I opened my eyes, I saw him already looking at me with a serene smile on his face. I looked around at the clock to see that it was already six in the morning. I tried to get up but he tightened his hold on my waist, "Aise thodi jaane dunga tumhe? Pehle meri good morning kiss do aur fir tum iss kamre se baahar jaa sakti ho."

I pleaded, "Sameer... dekho kisi bhi waqt Maa aati hi hongi, please mujhe jaane do. Tumhari morning waali kiss udhaar rahi." He thought for a while, "Thik hai... Par fir tumhe mujhe kiss ka interest bhi dena hoga." I scrunched my nose, "Yeh kiss ka interest kya hota hai? Maine toh pehle aisa kabhi kuch nahi suna Sameer."

He chuckled, "Tumne nahi suna kyunki yeh maine abhi ekdum fresh banaaya hai. Jaise log loan par interest lete hai, waise hi tumhari udhaar waali kiss par bhi interest lagega madam. Tumhe mujhe ek udhaar morning waali kiss par ek aur kiss as interest deni hogi. Bolo manzoor hai? Agar tumhe manzoor hai, tabhi main tumhe hamare kamre se jaane dunga."

I chuckled, "Sameer... Tum na poore ke poore paagal ho gaye ho." He pulled me on him & whispered, "Haannn... Paagal toh ho gaya hun par sirf aur sirf tumhare pyaar mein." I blushed sensing his blazing gaze on me & spoke, "Thik hai... Baad mein le lena. Par abhi toh jaane do na please..."

He left me reluctantly & I moved away from him but not before giving him a quick peck on his lips. He groaned aloud & I ran away from his room towards mine to get ready for the day. When I reached downstairs at the dining table, I saw our friends too had joined us for breakfast. Sameer shared what he had told me last night with everyone on the table.

Everyone seemed tensed after hearing him. Munna asked, "Sameer... tujhe kisi par shak hai kya?" Sameer thought for a while, "Nahi Munna... Ab tak mujhe kisi par shak nahi hai, par hume ab aage har ek kadam sambhaalkar uthaana hoga. Waise maine aur Vijay uncle ne ek plan socha hai jisse hume wohh cheater ka pataa lag sakta hai. Bas aaj Mittal Empire ka result announce ho jaaye toh aage ki planning karne mein aasaani hogi."

After finishing our breakfast, we left towards the Mittal Empire's office. We asked our friends to be with us during the announcement & they had joined us too. When we reached the conference hall, we saw Sunaina too had accompanied Kartik today. She smiled sweetly at us & took her seat next to him.

The conference hall seemed too huge to accommodate more than hundred people at a time. We settled down & waited for Vijay Mittal's arrival. At sharp 10, he entered the hall with his board members & took his place on the small stage ahead of us.

"Good morning everyone. I'm very much happy that each one of you gave your best presentations yesterday. But as you know that I had to choose the best one amongst you all, I had to see all the presentations again after you all left to be sure of my decision. After reviewing the presentations & the tenders that you all submitted, I have come to a conclusion..."

He looked around & continued, "I & my team here have liked two presentations & also the prices quoted in their tenders were quite attractive. But we wanted only one winner, so we've decided that both the companies will have to make new presentations & new tender quotations so that we could select one company as our partner. So, the two companies who have qualified for now are..."

Everyone held their breaths to hear the qualifying two companies. "Singhania Companies & Maheshwari Industries.", he announced the names earning loads of applauses from all. He continued, "May I call upon Mr Kartik Singhania & Mr Sameer Maheshwari to join us on the stage please."

Sameer got up happily whereas Kartik's face had lost its color. Both of them moved towards the stage together & then were made to sit next to the other board members. Vijay uncle spoke, "Now... Let's see what presentation these two young gentlemen had made to impress us."

The lights dimmed & the first presentation that was shown was of Singhania Companies which was followed by Maheshwari Industries. I fisted my hands on my lap in anger when I saw that Kartik had no doubt stolen our entire presentation. I saw Sameer who too looked very much furious. His eye caught mine & I gestured him to be calm. He nodded & got back to the screen where our presentation was showcasing.

When the lights were switched on, all the people present there again applauded for the awesome presentations. My Vijay Mittal took the mike again & spoke, "Congratulations Kartik Singhania & Sameer Maheshwari. Aap dono ki companies shortlist hui hai, toh ab main aap dono ko aur do weeks deta hun. Fir se ek presentation aur tender quotation banaaiye aur hume do hafte baad submit kijiye. Iss baar yeh presentation aapko sabke saamne present karna hoga."

There were huge murmurs around the hall & he continued, "Ji Haannn... Aap sab ne sahi suna. Ab se do hafte baad mera birthday hai aur ussi party mein Kartik aur Sameer ko apne presentations sabke saamne dene honge. Jiska bhi presentation aur quotation hume jyada accha aur profitable lagega, ussi company ke saath Mittal Empire judega. Maine last time aap sabko sirf itna kahaa tha ki meri company sirf partnership ke liye open hai par aaj main ek aur announcement karna chaahta hun. Inn dono mein se jo bhi company iss partnership ki haqqdaar hogi, hum uss company ko hamare Mittal Empire ke twenty five percent shares bhi denge aur wohh hamare company ke board of directors ka hissa bhi banenge."

When the murmurs increased, he said, "Maina jaanta hun ki aap sabko lag raha hoga ki maine itna bada decision kaise le liya. Aap sabne inn dono companies ki presentations dekhi aur hum sab bhi bohot impress hue hai, toh ab yeh kehna galat nahi hoga ki jo bhi hamari company ka partner banega, wohh iss kaabil zaroor hoga ki hamare Mittal Empire ka hissa ban sake."

Mr Vijay Mittal turned to Kartik & Sameer, "I wish you both all the very best. Give your best. Ab hum do hafte baad milenge meri birthday party mein, tab tak meri aur hum sabki wishes tum dono ke saath hai..." He again turned to us, "Aap sab tea aur snacks khaa kar jaaiyega. We all will meet soon after two weeks..." He talked with Kartik & Sameer for a while & then they got down from the stage.

Everyone congratulated them for getting shortlisted & getting a once in a lifetime chance to be a part of Mittal Empire. When Sameer joined us, we all hugged him in elation & then proceeded towards the other side of the hall where tea & snacks were being served.

When only few people remained in the hall, Sameer deliberately approached Kartik & Sunaina. I didn't know what Sameer was upto, but yet we tagged him along. "Heyy congratulations Kartik Singhania. So finally, tum shortlist ho hi gaye." Kartik's smiled deterred a little but he hid it away instantly.

Sameer continued, "Aaj raat ki party toh hogi na Kartik? Tum kal keh rahe the na ki partnership jeetne ki khushi mein tum aaj party dene waale ho? Toh hum aaj raat party mein aaye na???" Kartik had lost his voice & Sunaina replied, "Kaunsi party sweetheart? Mujhe toh kisi party ke baare mein kuch pataa hi nahi hai?"

I couldn't keep quiet & walked ahead, "Arey... Aisa kaise ho sakta hai? Tumhare sweetheart ne tumhe aaj ki party ke baare mein bataaya nahi tha? Ohooooo... Not done... Chalo koi nahi, main hi bataa deti hun. Kal Kartik ne humse kahaa tha ki aaj wohh yeh partnership jeet jaayega aur hume uski iss jeet ki khushi mein uske ghar party mein invite kiya tha. Par mujhe yeh samaj nahi aa raha ki tumhare boyfriend ne tumhe kaise yeh sab nahi bataaya??? Sochne ki baat hai, hai na???"

Sunaina fumed in anger & left from there. Kartik glared at me & I continued, "Maine kahaa tha na kal hi ki overconfidence acchi baat nahi hai, par tumne sunaa hi nahi. Khair chodo. Ab hum do hafte baad Mr Vijay Mittal ki party mein hi milenge. Till then, work hard. We will see you soon."

Sameer wrapped his hand around my waist & spoke sweetly, "Mr Kartik Singhania... Do hafte baad milenge, tab tak ke liye saayo naara..." We walked out of the hall towards the parking lot. Many things were running in my mind but I knew this wasn't the place to voice it out. It was better we got home & talk about it.

Once we were seated in the living room of our home, Nanu asked, "Kaisa hua sab?" Sameer narrated all that had happened in the conference hall in detail. "Nanu... Main aapko bataa nahi sakta ki mujhe uss Kartik ka presentation dekhte waqt kitna gussa aa raha tha. Wohh poora ka poora presentation hamara banaaya hua tha. Agar humne sahi time par wohh change nahi kiya hota toh aaj wohh sach mein Mittal Empire ka partner hota."

I too seethed in anger, "Mujhe toh mann kar raha tha ki sabko chilla chilla kar bataun ki wohh presentation bhi humne hi banaaya tha. Kitna gira hua hai na Kartik, usse zara bhi sharam nahi aayi yeh sab karne mein? Koi itna kaise neeche gir sakta hai?" Munna & Pandit too added their displeasure after seeing that our own hard work had been stolen by him & presented to Mr Vijay Mittal.

"Ab aage kya karne ka socha hai Sameer???", Nanu asked tensely. "Pehle toh yeh pataa lagaana hai ki hamara banaaya hua presentation kisne churaaya hai aur kyun? Jo bhi hai wohh hai toh hamari company mein se hi koi. Bas hume hamari aankhen aur kaan khule rakhne hai. Jisne bhi yeh kiya hai wohh ab tak toh chaukanna ho gaya hoga. Hume bas bohot acche se dhyaan dena hoga. Zara bhi shak ho toh ghar aane ke baad hi batana hai, office mein iss baare mein koi baat nahi karega. Hum waise hi behave karenge jaise pehle karte the, sab normal hi hona chahiye. Kisiko bhi bhanak nahi lagni chahiye ki hum uss dhokebaaz ko dhoondh rahe hai kyunki hume nahi pataa ki wohh ek hi hai yaa poori gang."

Everyone agreed & then we decided to keep a close eye on each & everyone in the office. We once more were going to follow the same plan as before of working on two presentations simultaneously. But this time we were better prepared than the first time, we knew what we had to do & how. It was just the matter of two weeks & the culprit would be out in the open.

We stayed home that day & prepared a proper plan so that there would be no confusion while working in the office. Sameer made some calls & arranged for some things on priority basis. This time Munna, Pandit, Swati & Preeti were going to help us in making two presentations. It was decided that the real presentation will be made here at home while the fake one would be done in the office so that no one would see through our plan.

The next day, when we entered the office, everyone congratulated us for getting shortlisted & wished us all the best. Some people even came forward to help us if we needed any help. When we entered in Sameer's cabin, Kamya walked in with six cups of coffees for us & congratulated us. She added, "Sameer Sir, Naina... if you need any help in getting any information just let me know, I will help as much as possible."

We thanked her for the coffees & the help too. Once she left, Sameer called her on the intercom, "Inform all the departmental heads that I've called in an urgent meeting in the conference room in an hour. Tell them to cancel all their schedules till afternoon as this meeting is quite important."

I & our friends kept looking at him after he called for this sudden meeting. Before we could ask, he answered, "Main jo bhi kar raha hun, sab soch samajkar kar raha hun. Tum sab sirf aas paas sab acche se dekh lena. Samjhe tum sab???" We nodded & sat there sipping on our coffee.

In the conference room, Sameer started speaking to all the head of the departments, "Good morning everyone. Thank you so much ki aap sab itne short notice mein yeh meeting attend karne aa gaye. Aap sab ko pataa hoga ki hamari company shortlist hui hai toh main chaahta hun ki aap sab bhi apne inputs aur suggestions mujhe de, jisse hamara presentation best ho aur yeh partnership hume hi mile. Mittal Empire ka hissa banne ke matlab toh samajte hai na aap sab? Kaam ke saath saath sabki responsibilities bhi badh jaayengi. Toh kya aap sab iske liye taiyaar hai? Aur agar nahi toh mujhe abhi bataa dijiye taaki main aapki jagah kisi aur responsible person ko appoint kar saku. Aap samaj rahe honge main aisa kyun bol raha hun, isliye please koi mujhe galat mat samajna."

The departmental heads gave some suggestions, some were really good & some were ok. Rohan, Rudra & Siddharth too gave their suggestions. The meeting extended till the lunch time. Once we were back in the cabin, Sameer closed his eyes. "Chalo... Ek kaam toh ho gaya..." We didn't get the meaning of his words & we all shared a look amongst ourselves.

He opened his eyes & smiled. "Ghar chalke batata hun, kya kaam ho gaya. Ab chalo apne apne kaam par lag jao. Pata hai na kya karna hai???" We all left his cabin & got back to work. This time at least it was a relief that we all were in this together & would find that culprit soon.
