Since the show is in HAHK era, what are your memories associated with the movie?
I remember one Nanaji of our area had watched it 20+ times and used to do uho uho. 😆
Another cousin brother had watched all 4 consecutive shows. 🤪
There was in news that a lady had postponed operation to watch HAHK.

Please share your anecdotes!

I remember the market was flooded with Madhruri's costumes rip offs...the green and white sharara of joote le lo...and the purple sari of didi tera dewar...though I personally thought Madhuri wore horrendous costumes in that movie😆😆...she was able to pull it off because of her tremendous beauty and charm⭐️
One of my friends was so besotted with her ki poochhna mat..while describing her in the movie he used to say...Madhuri looks so beautiful..so beautiful..mujhe darr hai ki kahin aur thoda sundar lagi...toh she will start looking ugly🤣

BTW Nice thread Ross...change from your usual update...kal ka episode left you speechless kya..with all the OTT drama😃

Oh it has one of the best memories of my childhood..
I still watch reruns of the film and know the dialogues and bg music by heart..
Songs to Jaise need Mein she bhi utha ke pooch lo..
In fact my kids have also seen it along with ,e so many times now..
And they too like watching the film and have started recognizing songs from this film.

Well as said above the costumes were flooded in the market..
Even salman's brown suit was flooded..

Tuffy has become a household name..
Uhoo uhoo the standard way to call people.. and in reply an aha was a must..

The tradition of joote churayi started from this film..
Grand family weddings were incomplete without the playing of the songs mayini mayi, joote dedo and lo chali main

I still remember and we still have a picture in salman's car which was kept outside the theatre (it was playing in Liberty theatre in mumbai..one of the best theatres in those days)

I had seen the film thrice in the theatre..which was a big privilege in those days..
The audio cassete was handled with extreme care..

Well still there are so many memories that I can't pen them all down..

Like the post Ross.

Nice thread Ross.

I don't know why, i didn't see hahk in theatre. It was airing on tv for the first time and one of my uncle was taking all the kids(my cousins) to Chota Chetan. I stayed back at home to watch hahk and till now I have not seen that chota chetan movie 😆

Recently I watched hahk before the promo aired

One of my cousin sister got engaged during that period. Her sasuraal wale had got a similar looking dress as madhuri's green and white sharara. And her younger sister along with groom's younger brother had danced to the joote lo paise do song in the function Hall.
Though the groom's family was very forward thinking, my family has always been the Orthodox types. All the elders in my family were very angry at the girl for dancing khullam khulla 😆
It was a very serious situation, but now looking back it makes me laugh so much.
I had just started middle school then.

Hey Ross what a good post.Whenever i watch or hear anything of this movie reminds me of the time me & my mother were crazy of this film.I watched it myself 5 times in hall in that year. Its reminds me of my teenage year & school life.Nostalgic.But yes the cloths of Madhuri were not that good but everywhere one can see those designs.

Hi Ross, different thread for a change. Itna bakwas tha kya episode? Engagement hui ki nahi? What do you suggest, epi dekhun ki skip kar du.

Coming to HAHK it was a cult film. Anyone from 90s have definitely watched it several times. I think that it was first movie with so many songs. Every 10 mins there was a song but all the songs were so good. madhuris dresses became a hit. Tuffy was cute. I had friends who could recite all the dialogues byheart. Songs were played at all the chai ki tapris and even in houses. Even i had the cassette and played it so often on walkman. I think if i am right that was the first movie with no rivalry, villians and no fight sequences. It was a sweet simple love story.

Very nostalgic thread Ross.

Happy New year Ross
Good u didn't make a post on yesterday's episode ...it wasn't worth it ...
Maheshwari's ke cheapness ko Rakesh ka atom bomb hi khamosh kar sakta hai

Coming to HAHK ...the movie released just after I got married
My husband works for a bank ,and I remember the entire staff with their spouses had watched it together
There was an old couple saying ,it's a total remake of Sachin starrer Nadiya ke paar ,and how that movie was much better ...

The movie was simply outstanding
I am guilty of watching it at least 20+ times...

Every function in any house had these songs playing on top volume
The audio cassette was 35/ RS ..and we proudly displayed it on top shelf

Huge comparisons as to how sridevi dominated anil Kapoor in Mr.India and now Madhuri dominating Salman...

I can go on and on ...
It's my all time favorite movie
