Even preeti and bela see naina as not good looking. Preeti put ubtan, did gungan of naina being topper yesterday instead of saying my sister is good looking.
Only rakesh knows her worth as topper. Somewhere though rakesh wants to get her married off to some lower middle class guy because he is against dahej pratha and stuff, his reasons for getting naina are different from taiji's reasons.
Rakesh is misogynist no doubt but somewhere he also recognizes naina's merit and thinks it will be difficult to get a groom for her if she studies more. It was a common concern back then

Putting an ubtan on Naina doesn't mean Preeti thinks Naina not beautiful ,it is done by everyone in special occasion,in that era and this era too

I ws very pissed yesterday when O Bai called her chhipkali... I mean seriously...😡 how cud u degrade a person to such an extent...the reason for all this humiliation frm her is because she can't digest the fact that Naina is getting such a rich boy n very prosperous family for marriage...

For Maheshwaris...what to say...they hav not even properly met her or talked to her n r forming opinions abt her that she is chant n very sharp just on the basis of her looks... Naina is nt at all bad looking n above all she has a heart of gold which they will probably know after the marriage...Sameer fell in love with her heart not her looks n now he sees her as the most beAUTIFUL girl n that what matters fo Naina

Sameer is equally involved in this affair. How easily every one is blaming naina. Ladki hain toh Sara dosh usika hain. Sameer ko koi kuch Nahin Kehta. People are so vicious. Without knowing a person you criticize and insult someone is not acceptable.

In the 90 and today, a girl is judged for her looks, purity of character and family status and a boy is judged for his earning capacity. A boys looks and character matter little. If a boy is wayward they think getting him married will sort out the problem. The wife must then bring the husband into line. If he doesn't come in line then the wife is blamed for failing to impress her husband.
Girls with brains are always considered as a threat. It happened in the 90s and continues to happen today both in families and in the workplace.

Much as we move towards equity between the sexes, society still puts the glass ceiling for girls with brains.

So true, the struggle of a girl still continues even after so much of development, there is still no equality between a girl and a boy. This is still a male dominant world. They can't take orders from a women in a wrok place.

We see very few people like anand who supports girls with their education and mainly a girls feelings, which is always goes unnoticed by the family. Their want, their wishes never come into picture. They always sacrifice for their family whether its a mother, wife, sister or daughter.

The situation will only change when people like us and like Anand teach their sons how to appreciate a woman and still maintain their own sense of self worth. We can only hope that the progress made thus far will continue and not allow a slide back. We must keep the fight for equality alive in every area of our lives.

I think sons always knew that and they usually always go for the heart and brain. 😆
It is the parents who need to change their mentality and the society ( which is ruled by tayeejee kind of social women) needs to learn that too.

Although I've always seen the older, ugly, unsmart , unmarried guys always search for beautiful girls and they always criticize girls for their looks--------well this is not girl's fault. It is the problem of those guys. Ugly guys will look for a pari , so that he can have erase his flaws. 😆 Girls need to learn replying these jerks properly than hide under makeup and think they have flaws.

Except Preeti, Bela, Anand, no one cares about Naina among the agarwals! Not even Rakesh! He is just worried about his so called izzat & his ego! He doesn't even realise her worth as daughter or topper! If he had ever realised, then he would have never allowed sharad ka rishta to happen as they were about to make her discontinue! He is such an cheap person who doesn't want to spend money for his daughter! He is slightly worried only about Arjun!
