A lot has changed in terms of how girl child is being perceived and how parents let kids to decide their profession. However, you will still find parents (literate/illiterate, rich/poor) having the same mindset.. So it changes from person to person.. My parents came from a small city but gave me wings to fly.. Never kept any distance between me and my brother.. My mother's mindset came from her parents who didnt find any diff between boy and a girl. My dadi had the mindset of boys v/s girls but father never had..
Ya there are changes but not completely, may be dowry also plays a role where parents can't afford the education for a girl child if they are middle class family/porr family.
