Naina in the initial episodes was a 16 year old sweet innocent girl whose world was very small. Her family members and one or two friends in school and her studies that's all. According to her all her family members and friends are very good. According to her there is only two characteristics for humans, either good or bad, like black and white, no in between.
But after meeting Sameer Maheshwari she learned that not all bad people are so bad and not all good people are so good. There are good traits in some people who behaves as bad initially. Same way she learned that her family members are not always right. It is human to do mistakes but a genuine person must apologize and rectify it and should not repeat it in future.
By the time she joined VJN she learned how to keep hers and Sameer's love alive even after staying physically so far from each other. She continued to keep that fire alive even when her hero was running away from her and she was clueless of his behavior. She forced him to come out of his shell and accept his happiness, their love back to his life. For the first time in her life she felt insecure about her looks and capabilities which came out during fresher's competition. Just for the happiness of Sameer she did so much which is against her family rules and society's restrictions. Some of them are bike ride and watching movie at theater.
Her life took a strong blow on her 18th birthday. At one end she was guilty for going out so far with Sameer by telling lies to her family. On top of that she got arrested by police and got so late in reaching back home. The scene that welcomed her at home literally made her numb like a dead body. Her father was about to hang and at that point she was thinking that it is all because of her. But later when she realized that it was because of the issues created by her brother and his girlfriend then a different kind of fear started gripping her. She had dreams of her beloved Chachaji at the place of her father trying to commit suicide by knowing hers and Sameer's love story. She trembled by the thought of to whom she should support. If she supports Sameer then she may lose Chachiji or if she takes a stand with her family then Sameer will get badly humiliated in front of everyone. Whatever courage that she has gathered in that 2-2.5 years, all lost in that one night. She got succumbed to her fear and decided to move away from Sameer so that she can save him from further damage. She just closed all doors and windows of her mind and just concentrated on her studies.
But fate had other plans. Disaster started attacking her again in the form of marriage alliance. This incident helped her to see the true color of her family members. Who cares about her in the true sense and who is not. That's why when Naina of PVKM considered all her family members as good but now she just care about only Chacha chachi and Preethi. Because only these three loves her in true sense. During this course she also realized how much Sameer and she loves each other. It is to that extent that both will be in self destruction mode if they are not together. At last when she got her Chachiji's blessing for their love story she was relieved of a burden.
From there her love and commitment for Sameer steadily increased. But in between she was getting very heavy lessons of life. She learned that her best friend of 10 years can cheat her for a college election. She learned that people can become so bad that they just don't care about the dignity of a girl. Just because she lost in college elections a girl can behave so cheaply that she can leave Naina half naked in college premises. She learned that people can go to that extent to malign hers and Sameer's image by shutting both of them together in principal's office. The worst for her was when Karthik hugged her forcefully in front of her family and friends and entire college. She learned that some people are not trustworthy at all. There are people who are completely black shaded.
So this is the Naina at present, who started her journey as an innocent child who never experienced so many diverse and harsh incidents in her life to now who had gone through so many incidents that she thinks about every issue practically and how much it will affect their future. Because life made her to think rationally.
Where as Sameer had experienced much more harshness in his life from young age onwards. For that first time in his life he is experiencing soft emotions like love and care. That's why he is becoming more and more emotional now a days.
This is like Naina is going uphill on experiencing harshness of life and Sameer in going downhill of that same harshness of life. They are in their meeting point now. That's why they are able to understand each other more and more compared to earlier days.
Now the question is can we get that innocent Naina back. My answer is NO. We lost that Naina in the course of life. Same like we lost our childhood innocence while growing up same like that Naina also lost her innocence as she grew up. But her love and commitment to Sameer has grew up and she has started seeing their future seriously.
