Let me tell you a secret ...As a kid me and sis also thought it as balloon ... 😆... once my sis and me opened almirah when my mom was not home and we took it out ..Tried to even blow it...🤢...Not until I got married I knew what it was and why my parents kept it safe in almirah... That was such an epic...😆

But here sameer is there to answer each of Naina's questions ...( Again my hard wish why didn't I had a sameer in my life)😉 ...

You made quite good post on their growing up and growing age...Curiosity of growing up is so big when u are there...And now we just laugh it out...😆

Bahut mast tha.. balloon had got me laughing though.. kya kya naam rakhte hai re baba..

Sameer talking to him even when he knew what he was talking about irked Naina.. but Sameer ne usse bahut achhese sab samjha diya.. About STD's was hat's off! Reality achhese likhi hai ... all in all a really nice os.. and last line was like a cherry on top! Keep writing !

I was kind of waiting for this one...and the first paragraph had me in splits🤣

The balloon thing really cracked me up... But wat surprised me later was that if Naina knew about condoms how come she never understood the balloon reference in the shop... Coz she definitely is not bholi bhali😆... The way she talked about the bistar pr koodna left me wondering how much knowledge Sam has given to her. ..and how come he was so late in enlightening her about the different uses of condoms🤣

I loved the way Sam kept on ignoring the whole scene in the shop...lest Naina start her questions and he's the next one to be embarrassed...

Loving the different topics coming up from u minu... Please keep writing them

P.s is the os still set in the 1990s??

How do you keep doing this time and again?! Minu, once again you have picked a topic which was considered such a taboo and tackled it so head on and yet in a lighthearted manner.

Birth control was a topic that not even a lot of educated couples talked about prior to marriage. Few of my girlfriends found themselves pregnant immediately in a couple of months following her wedding because of this irrespective of whether they wanted to start a family at that point or not. I vividly remember buying my first packet of condoms for my best friend on her wedding day from a chemist near the marriage hall as she and her husband had not talked about it either... and I was unmarried at that point! Good old memories..

Coming back to your story... loved how you set the stage for introducing the topic. Naina's mindset and chi chis were very realistic considering the time and her upbringing. But, the fact that she is willing to even address the topic in some way with Sameer is an indication of her comfort level and willingness to talk about a lot of things with him.

Sameer is a character depicted ahead of his times and has a very level headed approach to lot of things. Really liked how he talked about things in a matter of fact manner.. after all he was just sharing some facts of life. Though I think talking about flavours was the naughty side of Sameer ;) itna info in one go was not required!! Par Naina bhi Kuch kaam nahi nikali ;) vanilla is always associated with innocence.. but in this context definitely not innocent!

Your description of the village, fields and the bus journey was all perfect.
