Was it a blooper ?? Chachi serving water to Tauji!! 😉 How did she manage to get that for him?? 😆 Happens, I guess!!

I loved todays episode. Because I know how it used to be those days. It was more of a hush hush thing. NEVER TO BE DISCUSSED WITH MEN!! 🤣 and when girls attained their menarche there were functions too... 😳 in some parts of our country. They celebrate it like wedding ..I was invited few years back for one of my colleague's daughters one such function...its an old custom to tell the world that the girl has reached "THE AGE" which also means marriageable age 😉

I have heard my mom saying that during her younger days when they used stay in a joint family with their grandparents , there used to be a separate room that the ladies of the house used during that week of their month. Every woman would have their few pairs of dresses , glass , plate etc ..basically all essentials ,in that room. So that week they will be staying in that room. The whole idea was to give rest to women during that time but later it was looked upon like a taboo.

I really liked the way Naina tried to put some sense into her chachi and I hope she succeeds in it. Either Naina should make chachi understand that these are just good old theories which didn't make sense OR I want to see Naina and Sameer having a heart to heart discussion about it and Sameer coming to her rescue.
It shouldn't be like ... they just introduce the topic and not have something meaningful come out of it.

Ditto!!
This is exactly what I said in the LU.
If this topic is being repeated with the FL it better serve a purpose of bringing the leads to discuss and trying to make Chachi give up a bit of the orthodox belief associated with it. If S is going to be the savior by bringing food, I would hate it if the help is taken under the garb of Chachi having high fever and Naina not knowing how to cook authentic Marwari food (which makes sense). I would want them to discuss the real reason.

My brother and I have had endless arguments/discussions on this, ours being an orthodox family. Me being the youngest after 3 brothers, We were able to change my Mom's thinking so I didn't have to go through what you have written.

Agreed with all your points regarding handling this topic and for sure including Main Leads in or else this whole track will go haywire.
I have seen girls sitting in one corner for those 3 days. But it seems as if girls have committed some crime. Never came across as rest for them. I recently came to know that it's been celebrated in some parts of our country.

Not sure if they will approach it with the leads since they did it with shefali and Arjun. Chachi and Naina's had a different view of how periods were perceived at home. Shef-Arjun's was from a couple'' point of view.
Agree with you wholeheartedly.in my Nani's place they used to follow exactly what was shown. With my mom, it is not to visit the temple since we are ''not clean'. I get into intense discussions with her and still we don't see eye to eye regarding this.

Yes , my sis used to argue with my mom about this whenever she says "not clean hence don't touch me , about to go to temple".. 😆 Another thing is we can touch pickle jars, milk etc.

Thankfully a lot of it is changing as we have more educated women. They have a lot more logical approach to it. The thing is educated people will question the blind belief which is good...and todays kids don't fear questioning the system if they think its stupid .

Nice post. Chachi naina talk was bang on. Chachijis words about God it just went through my heart. Even i question that why always more pain and restrictions to women. This whole life on earth should be thankful to these natural processes. But whenever there is a talk about periods there come some impurity associated with it. Even now some people think like that. But fortunately it became less hard than before. I dont know whether we will get a samaina convo on this. But i really want them to talk about it.

There were very strict rules at my home.. 1st two days no touching anything...be it bed, taps, any person, cupboards etc. On third day had to take a head bath after which were allowed to touch few things but still no entry to Kitchen or temple. On 4th day after head bath we're allowed to enter kitchen but can't touch few things in kitchen. 6th day onwards free to do anything. I even remember washing my utensils.
In Summers we were given a jug full of water and a glass. So that we can drink water when needed. Maybe Bela Chachi used that water to serve tauji.

I loved that this point is taken up and shown how people used to think. I have experienced that and I hated it. I had arguments with mom and friends. But there is no logical reasoning to not touching and cooking. Mom has given up many things but still follows certain ones. She is a science graduate and agrees to what I am saying but still doesnt want to change one thing which is doing pooja during that time or vising temple. I still dont know whats the reason behind it and why it is being followed. Naina saying that logical reasoning was needed and if she is able to convince chachi to break that then I would be happy. If not how the embarrasing situation is avoided would come up in today's episode. What I dont like is the pace at which it is being dealt with. Its bit slow. The same thing can be shown in little time and in a logical manner. Hope thats being taken care off. But taking up these real life situation is a welcome change and highly appreciated.
