Are fans being a bit too harsh ? Or is the criticism fair ? (Edited)

Hello everyone.
Came across a Twitter thread which has forced me to ask the question framed within the title of this post.

Here's the link-

There are points on which I disagree with the concerned person. But some of his/her points do make a lot of sense. Particularly the ones regarding yesterday's episode and Naina's monotonous portrayal of being jealous.

The points may be uncomfortable for a lot of fans but I think it deserves a fair discussion without bashing each other.

Would like to know the opinion of my fellow mates here.

Edited: Had made a small error while posting the link. Have made the requisite corrections.

I am glad some one made this post. I wanted to check with people if just me , who felt the CVs were going ahead with a track with out having an idea what exactly they are showing. If Delhi track destroyed Sameer's character which they had beautifully built during Pooja Di's wedding track , then I felt this college track is going to destroy Naina's character.

Honestly , I found the plot very kiddish and have to say editing is absolutely horrible. The only thing that is sustaining is the hot and happening chemistry between Sameer and Naina along with the rest of the crews acting skills and VO.

Even in that chocolate scene, watch carefully and you will notice they have done a childish job of editing multiple shots...no one noticed is primarily because of the chemistry between the two.

The flow from one scene to the other is not there and the plot is loosely rather carelessly woven with out giving much thought to the correctness of an act. It also lacks even basic logic that should be there during an OTT scene.

Too many bloopers too.

Feels sad to see that the quality of the show has dipped. For me the story has lost is beauty, even then I watch this show just for all the actors ...I really like all of them especially Naina, Sameer, Munna , Pandit, Swathi, Preethi and the Agarwal house members.

TFS...I read all the comments and all make sense to me. I was absolutely addicted to the show. But now, I don't watch it because I can't wait to see what happens next, but because I'm still a loyal viewer, who's hoping the show would redeem itself soon. There are so many stories n plots that they can put in- add twists, make it interesting. But all they can show is that Sameer is the hottest man on earth and Naina is the ugliest woman on earth. I mean why? I'm actually sick of this. Some random tracks are being added, most of the episodes are fillers- laced with a few Samaina scenes (frankly speaking- I watch it for them and Mundit and Preeti).
Even when Sameer behaved like an arrogant brat, n played with Naina's emotions, we all used to be hooked to the TV- man what editing, what a way of connecting loose ends. But since many months, the direction and the editing have been extremely shabby. Sometimes I feel that SSP is not at all interested in the show now- they seem to be paying more attention to other shows. That's quite sad, because finally I found a very relatable n sensible show on TV that's losing it's charm. Since the Delhi track, they've made zero attempts to shoot up to the top.
I'm very sad, because I used to love the show so much.

Hello Aswathy Di (I hope I spelled your name correctly.Sorry if I didn't).

I'm not sure if you remember me.We both were a part of the same forum before YUDKBH commenced.I'm the same stupid girl who had copied your post(you had written that post with regards to the male lead of that show)and pasted it in the comment section of a Fuze article. That was a huge error and I had joined IF so that I could apologise to you and it was so sweet of you that you had accepted my apology so gracefully. You were the first person I interacted with at IF.I have a lot of respect for you ever since that incident because it taught me an important lesson about how wrong plagiarism is.

Coming back to YUDKBH. I agree with the points raised by you. The Delhi track was needless to say the least. It kick-started the downfall and its been a cascading effect since. Naina's present behavior too dosen't inspire much confidence. "Jealous Naina" is no longer fun to watch. The editing has been in shambles since ages.

Yes,college life is fun and the writers can show that. But I want an element of seriousness in the plot as well.As you said, its coming across as "kiddish". As that person (who made the Twitter thread) has said, the story lacks substance. That's the best way to describe it.

Btw,I guess we both know which other show that person was talking about😉..isn't it ? That show was brilliant but as he/she rightly said, one character's overnight redemption had ruined it 😭

Glad to have interacted with you after so long :-)

I totally resonate with your feelings.

@Bold-Summed it up perfectly. That's my biggest gripe. You're right,is that the only thing left to show! So much more to explore but we are oscillating between "handsome boy and ugly girl" since ages..

Anyways, hoping for a revival is all that we can do though chances are very bleak.

Yesterday i was watching some previous episodes... Rakhi tying wala... My god... Those episodes were so nice.. each and every expressions were worth watching and each expression had some message to convey... The activities in classroom.. everything... Nowadays even dialogues are delivered without showing the person who is delivering them... Like the dialogue Hema told pandit after the cassette stealing episode... Even Sameer gave a chocolate to Naina saying a gift for someone you love... That was also not shown...
These are my thoughts...

Agree to most of the points in that post ...sameer is the smartest guy ok fine ... naina jealous after seeing all madhu makki's ...this is been pointed out like too many times ...looks like c.v's are more obsessed with this ...poor editing...the chocolate romance scene left us in a confusion if it was a dream or real ...the director and actors tried to clarify it ...such is the state of editing...
College track has lot of potential if used properly or else the story is already going down the hill ...it will not take long to shut the shop ...it's only because of samundit and Naipreeswa that attracts the viewers...the actors are doing amazing job and they have good actors in the show ...why not made good use of them .

You all got so used to pseudo women empowerment in other tv shows hence the outrage. This show is completely realistic for a 90s setting. Don't expect 2018 ish things from this show. Watch it as it is being portrayed.
