Enjoyed reading all the comments on the bell ringing - problem solving.

First we need to understand these are teenagers. With my experience with 2 teens I can tell you this is how they are, at least mine are. They will drag an issue with days of sulking and cribbing and suddenly one day they'll laugh and say Oh ma I was being so silly ! That's it... here I would be giving philosophical mini lectures and in the end I don't know if anything went into their head but problem is solved.

Similarly I don't know if Sameer had any realization per se but for now he agrees to Naina's explanation of love vs fear and those positive answers to his earlier examples of why he is manhoos. One day when he reminisces these days he will see that his examples were such silly ones. They may revisit this when N's birthday comes up and how she is always cursed for her mother's death.

Finally, the bell ringing did not get him to realize anything. It was Sameer's way of conveying to Naina that yes I understand that I was being a jerk. Please accept my apology. Her ringing back signifies her accceptance of his apology and him.
The understanding came when she was missing and he was desperately running around looking for her.

You know why we ring the bell at the temple entrance right ? It is to inform the deity of the devotee's arrival and the sound is considered auspicious. I think that is what they tried to convey here.

Thanks appu..okay I will take this teen theory... Bcoz thy r unpredictable😆...but hum to aise nahi the... Hum naina jaise the... Ya Karo to extreme Karo ya nasamajh aaye to bado ki baat man lo..😆 .But ya Sameer tedha hai... Pehle se...😆

I actually like the confrontation logic tho didn't like the sloppy execution..

But bell ringing scene... Yes it was to manao Naina but i feel it came upon abruptly... Sameer ne aisa kuch kiya bhi nahi ke Naina man jaane ka feel aaye... At least thy should have shown the two-tap flashbacks to connect the scene with emotions..

Also if u observe Naina is doing something just before she smiles away... I feel that part is edited out...

I think there was lot more from director to convey the correct feelings but got chopped away in bad editing.😳

But yeah this seems to be the only logical possibility for him ringing the bell... Tho iss se to acchasaath mein sorry bhi bol deta... Things would have been clearer..

We will "assume"that this was his intention...😛😆

Lovely symbolism Minu. 👏 So in this case Sameer ends the inner conflict he was waging with himself... accepts defeat to Naina by embracing her words and love once again in his life. It was a celebration for him to be free of the stifling thoughts that has shrouded him for the last few months.

Appu, what a lovely explanation. 👏 I think we should never forget that these two are still teenagers. They are friends too, so they always have their own way of solving issues... but as its common with most teens, they don't usually go into in depth explanations.

I didn't think the bell ringing came up abruptly because they are at a temple and I expected that they would ring the bell together after they reconciled (which we all expected to happen )

@ bold - Naina did not need Sameer to say or do anything. He did not commit a sin and in her heart she knew that he was being maha bewakoof and afraid of what Dadi said and would come around.

Maybe there was more to show which got chopped off but I think it was ok.

If he just rang the bell Naina and we viewers would think he is going to loudly ask God for forgiveness etc.. But the coded double sound bell ringing was straight away for her. He knows she is the one he had to appease and not God and she doesn't need an explanation. Here she is like the God who also just knows everything and needs no explanation.

Also we already know about their 2 sounds code, whether it was in class or the coke scene so why did we need a fb to connect ?

Isn't it contradictory. At one point we are suppose to think that these are teenagers and can be immature and at the same time we are also expected to think that no explanation needed cause they understand each other well.

Whatever may be the case... I feel cvs have been avoiding meaningful conversations between them for way too long. Not every viewer would be able to understand this approach. Not many would put an effort to deep dive in to understand the symbolism like we are doing here.

At one side they are doing things to improve trp on other making things complicated for majority of viewers to understand and relate.

For me this ending of manhoos phase was the biggest disappointment so far cause I had really high expectations from this.

@Appu.
Agree with you on most of the points but still I feel disconnected. Maybe I have raised the bar of expection for that particular scene. The way manhoos track was stretched like rubber band, the closure was not expected abrupt. It should have been smooth.

The bell runging was for manaoing her, true. But what exactly made him to do so.was it Just her disappearance. What purpose did slap serve? Or was it just for the sake of drama quotient?
His Complicated state of mind and it was not dealt with proper execution, I feel.

Some heart to heart convo would have been better choice rather than telling viewers you know it all and hence assume it.
Sadly, from shaadi track they are abruptly closing tracks after stretching it like rubber band but I have thought they won't repeat it for manhoosiyat? They gave us gradual mother-son bonding and its execution was fine, so why not this one?

Still going strong, Bravo 👏

Mini has given us the symbolism behind the scene. I really Appreciate that as I had no idea about it.

But my problem is the execution. Yes, I agree Sameer didn't realize things by bajaoing that ghanti, rather he was signalling Naina that he indeed has forgotten the manhoos stuff and was asking her to get back together ( that's why he chose to ring the bell twice because that's their trademark). But we didn't have a property back story for that.

First of all, the scene where Naina randomly picked up a cig lying on the road just to show sameer how stubborn she can be was very random. She appeared out of nowhere and picked up the cig. Why? Did she know sameer was there? Were we shown that she knew sameer was watching her? If no, then there was no point of her trying something she hates without even having sameer in the hindsight. Anyway the confrontation that followed was nice. Naina did put up counter arguments about sameer's manhusiyat and that was good. After that we should have gotten a scene where sameer ponders over what all Naina has said. But instead of all this she went missing and everybody was shown trying to find her. Sameer found her and asked her to come along but she didn't budge and that's when Sameer saw that ghanti and started bajaoing it to let her know lo mai maan gaya.

There was absolutely no connection between the scenes. No pondering over, no confrontation, no breakdown, no heart to heart talks.I know they are teenagers and teenagers do fight and patch up randomly. But please see the fact that Sameer wasn't talking properly since the last 6 months. 6 months is not a small thing. Teenagers are not that casual when their jhgda covers a long period of time.

Dadi ka drama, keshav ki nautanki, manhoosiyat everything was shown in such detail then why didn't they ever show Samaina sharing things with each other. We were never shown them talking about serious things. We were always shown cheesy phone calls and no proper conversations. But now We are supposed to assume that Sameer had told her all about his Delhi troubles. Why? I know everything can not be shown, there are limitations but When we can jhelofy every stupid track being shown in detail, why cant we get such scenes where Samaina have proper conversations?

Sameer rang the bell to let us know that maanhoos track is over and Naina rang the bell to let us know that college romance is going to start. The bell has no link with patch up, it was for enlightening us about which track is ending and which track is going to start. 😆
