After my last post, I'll try my best to keep this short...😆 A few things I liked on Thursday and Friday...On Thursday, I loved the mother - son scene the most. This was my single biggest takeaway. So since Mundit's departure (maybe about 3-4 months leap) Vishaka has kept her promise and grown into a Mama bear for Sameer. Even though Sameer has not completely opened up to her, as in he has not confessed about Naina, but we can see he has become more forthcoming with her. Their conversation was very normal and casual, no signs of any underlying tension that used to be there earlier. Vishaka stopped him and questioned him which was progression and he just answered without getting angry and even went on to convince her to let him work. Good to see Vishaka understood his POV, and gave her blessing, shows she has started treating him as an adult and giving importance to his thoughts and opinions. It was a treat to see Sameer easily smile and also give her a quick hug... her emotional support seems to have given him a lot of confidence.
Most importantly I liked his calmness when he faced daadi. He looked to Vishaka and took his cues from her. 👏 He knew, almost expected daadi to do a kaand... and she did. But again loved how Vishaka immediately stood by him like his shield and urged him to go ahead with his plans. It almost appeared that he had stopped retorting to daadi directly and it also looked like daadi was certainly getting flustered by this cool and calm approach from Sameer. This entire scene warmed my heart.
On Friday, a few scenes stood out...
First Naina's dream... looks like she always dreams of Sameer when she feels low. She remembers how he used to manao her... but in her mind they are now physically more closer. AFter the dream, it was her dream team egging her on. I feel Mundit will somehow convince principal to give Naina a chance to show her skills even if Kumud has kicked her out. The last scene where she hears and senses Sameer on the radio was good. She can't be sure but she feels the voice was just like his. 😳 It was so endearing to see her put in so much effort with so much conviction... but again all those letters and constant words of love from Sameer have given Naina strength. Where a long distance relationship can clearly undermine one's conviction, in this case it has increased multifold for both of them.. 👏
Then the entire radio station scene was good... I actually liked no-nonsense Mehta. He could become a very good mentor for Sameer, if he just dropped his prejudice...lets see... but it also looks like Amrita's father will mentor his too. 😃 I hope Sameer learns more than just reciting poems and playing instruments... it will be nice if CVs show him learning how broadcast is done... or learning office things like typing.
What I liked most was Sameer's attitude. In the past, we have seen how Sameer would get flustered, angry and defensive when his privileged background was mentioned and he would act like a rebel. All his life he has faced the prejudice of being unworthy and unskilled, and dismissed at first sight... tolerated for his background, but clearly made aware of it... a sort of reverse partial treatment. But this time, he was different... yes he did get angry when Mehta accused him of being unworthy and using his contact. But he remained calm and found his way out of the situation through his actions.
Yes, it was odd that he performed on air on his first day... but I also strongly believe that when it came to creative arts, sometimes being in the right place and right time is all it takes. There are people who struggle to get noticed all their life and then there are some like Sameer... who take chance in their hands and end up standing out. I believe its all about being in the right place at the right time with the chance to showcase your talent to the right person. 😃 Luckily for Sameer, Mehta's taunts acted as a simulator and woke up his true talents. For once Sameer channeled his anger and disappointment in a constructive manner. That is character growth for me... that is what Nanu would've done, shut people up with his actions. 👏
Anywhoo... I hope we see more radio station scenes with SAmeer learning a lot of things there... and we saw Naina was also working hard to reach her goal. 😛
