well regarding the other points, I being a creative person have different viewpoint regarding prerogative of a writer, their moral responsibilities and the way they do it, and/or forcing them to b the flag bearer of a social change.
By the way, since i or my peers or friends have never been at receiving end or otherwise, I wanna know how u tackled this issue of eve teasing? How did u convince that person that he was wrong? And what ground level things u did to ensure tht this behaviour is not repeated with other girls in your neighbourhood?

First of all, girls here start facing eve teasing when they don't even know what does it actually mean. And mind you, most of the times, Eve teasing is not limited to passing stupid, sexual alone. Girls are touched, groped and what not. But yeah passing lewd comments on girls passing by is normal for boys.
Anyway, I had the same issue. I first faced it when I couldn't even comprehend what the guys were up to. I won't deny, I was scared like hell. I ran away. But this kept happening again and again and I was always scared. Walking all alone on a deserted road or travelling by public transport is an open invitation for guys.
So I couldn't take it anymore and I started responding. When people passed comments, I gave them befitting replies; I even slapped a guy once.
I think you can not make guys here understand that what they are doing is wrong. They think it's very normal. And when girls don't respond, they get even more confidence that they can do anything.
The only thing wrong on our part is that we get scared and we keep mum.
If I ever come across a girl being eve teased, I always stand up in her defence. I always advice my friends and my sisters not to remain silent, either respond or complain about it to the p olice but not remain silent. That's what I have been doing on my part.
😊 I dont know about others but despite the fact that my parents are so open minded, I could never share these things with them. I won't say they were at fault but yes parents should at least once talk to their girls about all this so that they don't ever feel uncomfortable sharing.
Self defence is the only thing you can vouch for. Even public don't respond now a days if you ask for help. This is the kind of mess we are into
