First of all, we must understand that physically, mirrors reflect light and thus reflect the world around us. Spiritually, light has symbolic attachment to illumination, awareness and wisdom etc. Therefore, in terms of spiritual symbolism, mirrors reflect truth. They reflect what is.

In a psychological sense, mirrors symbolize the threshold between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind. By looking into a mirror, one may look towards the depths of their unconsciousness. The image the mirror produces is therefore symbolic and can be made sense of in both conscious and subconscious thought processes.

There have been several instances of Sameer gazing into the mirror and dilly dallying between conscience and his conscious decision about bet.

The mirror however has always shown him a true face which even his true friends could not at some point of time.

He had his first sense of concern for Naina and realization of same by looking at mirror only. And even he realized what a heinous person he is after the bet revelation reflecting on his image.

In order for a Mirror to cast a reflection, it requires Light.Symbolically, Light represents Illumination, Enlightenment, Awareness and Wisdom. Therefore, in order for us to honestly evaluate ourselves and the world we have created around ourselves when using our personal Spiritual Mirror, we must view our current reflection with an Enlightened mind.

Yesterday in the phone call scene though there was darkness all throughout but the moon light and star lights illuminated the room enough the reflect his smiles on the mirror.Though he was complaining about his state before the phone call,he like a wise man consoled his lady love that they are inseparable at hearts no matter how cruelly destiny has distanced them.

His smiles showed how he was at peace finally.

His wisdom, awareness of another aching heart was beautifully reflected on the front-placed mirror.

It is important to remind ourselves, however, that The Mirror simply reflects that which is currently true. As Enlightened Beings we have both the ability and responsibility to change our personal, mental, and Spiritual reflection whenever we "see" something in our Mirror that is not harmonious with who we truly aspire to be.

In this way we are identical to the Egyptian Neters who gaze into their hand-held Mirrors in an Eternal process of self-evaluation, self-improvement, self-change and self-Enlightenment.

Mirror has always been a trigger in Sameer's self-evaluation and self-enlightenment.Excited to see how this reflection on mirror brings out more wisdom, evaluation and enlightenment in him.

This is my POV,do share your opinions as well.😳

Wonderful post.
For a lonely person Mirror is a friend.
Sameer has his friends but they are not with him when he is alone.
Mirror helps him to reflect upon his doings and to reflect upon that.
You explained well it with yesterday's moonlight too in a beautiful way. 👏

Love reading your posts and agree with your reflection analogy..It does reflect what Sameer's mindset is ..The first one..where he automatically said..he will visit Naina in the temple to wish her all the best for Hindi debate, then after the break up..The yellow night suit...

Amazing post as usual minu
Mirrors are like companions to human beings... They reflect our image... So we use the phrase' showing the mirror' often to make someone realize his truth... Mirrors do reflect our image the way we are... Sameer looking at his mirror image with disgust after his realization of mistake was due to this... He even hated his image at that time... Slowly by doing penance and by mending his mistakes he started loving his image again.
There is a proverb in my mother tongue 'changathi nannayal kannadi venda' wbich you don't need mirror, if you have a good friend ... True friends always tells you the truth like mirrors... This is where mundit comes to play in sameer's case... They made him realize what he should do, that is to apologize to naina instead of running away... In naina's case, swati played the role of the mirror where she tried to make her see sameer's intentions...
As u said, sameer's smile was visible in the mirror even in darkness... He is a wise and good person now and it reflected in his mirror image...
There's another proverb in malayalam 'mukham manassinte kannadiyanu' which means our face is the mirror of our minds... The face reflects the emotions going on in our minds... The same thing is reflected in our mirror images.

Minu, this is fabulous...!! 👏
Really enjoyed reading the symbolism, and your POV on Sameer's self introspections... I have to say, I never thought about it this way, but after reading this post I realize you are right.

All I can say is, Buddhists regard a mirror as "the soul in a state of purity."

And this is so correct, mirrors reflects the soul, the absolute truth... As you said, Sameer has seen his soul being reflected before... The first time he had misattributed the reflection of his heart to the bet but the second time he had successfully accepted the truth in his reflection...

This time he didn't just accept the present truth, but reflected back and adjusted / corrected his being to a self-determined potential by putting aside his own troubles and caring for his beloved first...

Hey Minu a great post...👏.I found the episode ethereal to be honest... I was looking at the various technical aspects...and for me the episode delivered superbly...both technically and content wise and i wrote a bit about it on Laizu's post regarding that..
@bold and underlined...After I read your post...I realised what made it so ethereal...the mirror...while I felt the peace within while watching it...thank you for enhancing my joy...😊 Your observations are spot on.

When technique and substance are wedded the marriage of content is a successful one 😊

Beautiful post.Gives so much insight into scenes which we see from surface.Thanks...still ppl complain abt pointing of bloopers, do they not go through these posts?
Anyways, your post reminded me a song
Aaine ke sau tukde Kar ke humne dekhe hain
Ek me bhi tanha the, sau me bhi akele hain

If you have time Can you elaborate above song in your way other than physical thing? I think there is more to this than just the physical aspect which is applicable to Sameer.
