Yes that is the whole point identity of Sameer has a lot to do with his hairstyle...so making it short would be to play with that identity and ofcourse so many times Naina has said she loves his hair...

I also see this hair cut as a change in the story line...if you remember Naina also was forced to cut her hair because of Sameer ...and here the issue started with trying to reach Naina...which lands him in so much of trouble resulting in the hair cut...

Cutting of hair also symbolizes change in outlook...or a need to change in outlook...in real life when people need a change most of them start with a new hairstyle...

So after the haircut we might see a different Sameer..not sure what it is...but lets wait and watch...

As far as his shirtless image on screen ...if something of that order happens...then GOD BLESS NAINA 😉
