My Heart will live ON...

(VO):

Hospital in Pasadena, US. Just early morning, with what seemed like a regular day, we see a patient brought in the stretcher out of the ambulance. This is the hospital, where world's ideal and sharp minds work without pausing for even a minute to save lives, and one such specialist is of Indian origin, who is exceptionally rumored for being elite personalities in the realm of medicine. Yes, he is our Dr. Aman, the lead of the story - a renowned specialist, all around regarded in the doctor's facility, constantly upbeat and at pinnacle/zenith of his career.

The camera pans on his legs walking down the aisle of the hospital, and then on to the side face of the doctor.

His daily routine included walking from home and to the hospital. As a regular day, he takes the general course to his clinic. He strolls past the stretcher in which the patient is gotten, keeps strolling while at the same time checking his phone fretfully and intermittently as though he is expecting some earnest message. The camera pans for a moment that his left-hand fingers brush the fingers of the hand of the patient. He feels something for a moment, yet without giving careful consideration as he is as yet centered on his phone, expecting a message, walks away towards the cafeteria. Usually calm, composed Dr. Aman appears little frazzled. Cradling the phone back in his pocket, he imagines that it will be a long day, with such a large number of transplants arranged. Gracious well, S2D2 thinks Dr. Aman and heads to the cafeteria for his breakfast which included Granola bar and coffee.

In the passageway (aisle) of the hospital, he hears the sound of bangles jingling. Pondering who that might be, he turns but finds no one around. He supposes it must be his imagination, continues taking a gander at the phone once more.

Completing his breakfast, he is walking back to begin his day. Residents/Fellows past him and greet him with much regard. Their eyes demonstrate the huge regard they have for Dr. Aman. He hears again that same jingling sound. He turns around without realizing. This time, he sees beautiful, round, huge Kohl lined eyes, and at that point sees a strand of hair falling on her temple. She is holding a piece of paper in her left hand with a bracelet that was making that jingling sound while looking into/understanding the map of the doctor's facility. "May I be of any help?" offers Dr. Aman. Startled to hear the sound this near her, she all of a sudden pivots. To state, the young lady was amazed would be putting it mildly/would be an understatement. She nearly loses her balance. Taking care of herself at the last minute, she moves her hand to tuck the strand of hair lock behind her ear. "What a wonderful pair of eyes, - (simply like two drops of espresso in a cloud of milk), and that long, shiny/silky, plush hair thinks Dr. Aman. Umm...Well, I am searching for Dr. Rai...says the young lady, attempting to peruse his identification of the coat... "Dr. Aman R", taking Aman back to reality. Dr. Rai, huh? May I inquire as to the reason, questions Dr. Aman. BTW, I am Aman. Dr. Aman. Great morning Dr. Aman. My name is ..., the doctor is interrupted by a Fellow greeting him in transit. The resident turns to take a look at Dr. Aman, at that point turns back and proceeds on his stroll with a baffled look. "You were stating something, please go on", mentions Dr. Aman as he and the young lady keep on walking the path. "There is a transplant heart transplant today and need to talk about something with Dr. Rai about that Dr. Aman, do you know him? Still in trance, taking a closer look at the face, which caught his imagination, Dr. Aman is taken back to reality. "What is this? He thought it is not like he had not seen a pretty face previously, but rather what was that, that continued compelling him to not take eyes of that face, was something which he was unable to comprehend. "Sorry", Can I ask something? Said Aman. "Anytime", answers the young lady. "Have we met previously? I can't appear to place you, however your face looks very familiar. She answers "when we meet someone for the first minute, anybody is a stranger, not when we have been talking for quite a while. Aman, smiling says, "You said it right, yet haven't addressed my inquiry. The young lady mentions, "I have been informed that Dr. Rai is elite, simply best of the best. Is that true? "Elite, Best of the Best! Huh?" Smile now plays on Aman's lips and says, "Well I will leave that for your discretion. But so they say here at the clinic in regards to...His stops midsentence to turn around and notices that she is gone in a blaze of a moment, once more. "Hmm, What's with this girl?" thinks Aman, keeps strolling towards the OR, again getting the phone out to check if any message had come in. To his disappointment, there is none. It is so unlike her, he ponders.

Day goes by and it transforms into evening, just between the break, sipping coffee at the cafeteria, musings of her eyes, her face envelop Dr. Aman's thoughts. "Well, why am I thinking about this girl who I scarcely met? It was not like Dr. Aman did not have his share of relationships and friends who were girls. On the contrary, he was quite a charmer in the medical school, yet this girl had caught his imagination like nobody previously. She was an enigma to him. Whom did this young lady reminded him of and for what reason did that jingling of the bracelet charm on her wrist attract/enchant him, he essentially couldn't put his finger on. Oh well, time for another transplant at that point will be back home. Will watch some TV and get some rest these contemplations continued entering Aman's thoughts. Where are you dear? He kept asking himself, looking again at the phone screen.

"Dr. A, Dr. A, Dr. Aman", this sound takes him back to the present time. It is the RN, who was reminding him about the upcoming heart transplant... ... There was a tag on the OR bed of the patient: "Name: XXX, DOB: XXX, Age: XXX... ... Just flipping past the record, he straightforwardly takes a cursory glance at the case points of interest. Cause of death: XXX, Time of Death: 8:49 a.m. He goes on his business, transplant happens with no issues, he holds the "heart" of the patient in his two hands... ... Suddenly, he hears a sound, "Sunoo na. "Teek se so jaana aaj raat, buhut thak gaye na". His hands, the hands of the most elite, the best of the best , indeed, Dr. Rai's, Dr. Aman Rai's hands trembled out of the blue for the FIRST Time EVER, holding the "heart" of the girl, the girl where his heart genuinely had a place, where he really felt alive, awakened, belonged and stirred with her. Yes, it was Muskaan who he had met in the corridor, her face, her eyes were capturing his thoughts the entire day... ... Yes, for the world he was successful, yet he truly became happy when he was messaging with Muskaan, his Muskaan ... ... His mind rewinds to the scene of his fingers brushing the girl's hand for the FIRST time on the stretcher, then in the aisle again with the bracelet in the left wrist, with his initial on her left wrist beneath the bracelet. Slowly it dawns upon him that it was the gift that he had sent for her on her 25 birthday...that was TODAY, indeed, it was March 21 and he was fretful regarding why she had not sent a "Good morning note' which she did religiously since the day they had met for the first time and had yet answered to his "Many, many Happy returns Dear message. Suddenly he froze acknowledging what had happened. He was holding the heart of the patient who's TOD, Time of Death read: 8:49 a.m.". Reality unfolded upon him now that the name of the patient, he had found in the file, which escaped his attention prior, the same doctor who was known for being precise and methodical Muskaan, DOB: March 21, Age: 25. TOD: 8: 49 a.m. These letter sets, letters/numbers all seemed all scrambled up. Time of the death kept playing in his mind. He understood that she had come to visit him, to give him a surprise. Destiny had another plans stored for her and she lost her life, comes to understand that it was the EXACT SAME Time that he had messaged her, wishing her on her special day, understands that it was her, his Muskaan, whom he had strolled past this early morning, while walking to the hospital and had mumbled to himself, yet one more day, yet another accident. Yet, even after her death, she came to meet him. It was him who took time to recognize her. That is why he never felt like stranger with his Muskaan even for a second. My Muskaan!! I am not a stranger when we have been "talking since so long, she had mentioned. Now he understood the true meaning of what she implied there. "Dr. Aman, we have to move the heart now for it to be given another little girl to save life". The voice jolted him back to reality. Collecting himself, he finished the formality and changed from his scrub, walked back grimly home, totally unaware of surroundings, feeling total numbness.

VO: As is commonly said, time does not wait for anyone, and only thing CONSTANT is CHANGE. Day changes into night, week changes into another. Aman, the perfect doctor, ideal human being to the world is going through the motions of work, investing energy with family. In many, numerous weeks, it is another Saturday... ... the Saturday which Muskaan used to love so much and always wanted to meet and spend that special day with him for the first time.

Aman is alone for the very first time in his room, with music playing in the backdrop and his eyes shut, with a glass of drink on his side table. Unknowingly, first drop of tear courses through his eyes and stops on his cheek... ... In his recliner, he feels the arm wrapped around him, and somebody whispering in his ears, "Mere Aman ke aankhon mein aansoon bilkul ache nahin lagthe"... ... delicately wipes those tears with her lips. He realizes that it is Muskaan, Aman's Muskaan. Small smile plays on his lips now. With her hair falling on his shoulders, she gradually comes before him, and looking eagerly/intently in his eyes, cups his face in her hands, and gently says, Sunoo na, Wherever you are, I am always there, am your shadow, even if I want, I cannot walk away from you... I will still live due to you, my doc, my stubborn doc. My heart will live on, in the heart of that little girl whom you saved and inside of you...Aman, please never be weak ...I am so proud of you and your profession ... I am here within you!!!"...and he feels her hand on his HEART and gradually another tear courses through his cheek. He opens his eyes as he feels a delicate/tender hand set under his hand, on his heart... ... it is the little hand of the little girl, whose now has Muskaan' s heart thumping/beating within her... ... ..Her parents remaining at the passageway of the room, quietly saying thanks to him for the life he has given to their daughter. He turns to the side, discovering Muskaan still there, endeavoring to signal him to smile, and demonstrating him that she is always there with him, inside him, for all eternity. Their first tune as yet playing in the background "Muje pyaar karne waale, tu jaahan hain main vahan hoon...Humne milna hi tha hum dum, kissi raha bhi hum nikalthe... She gestures to him that sign - which said Muskaan ke Aman and Aman ki Muskaan...Aman touches his wet cheek and still feels fragrance of his Muskaan...

VO: Some love stories are beyond/past the realms/domains of science. Bodies go into the obscure, yet souls live on, hearts live on, the TRUE love lives ON... ... ..

Payal - Update the title of your post with "OS" or "Story" - so people know it's actually a story to read and not just a simple post... 😊 I think since the forum is so active and the numerous posts over weekend, this one is lost in that...

Thanks thought about it, but since the story did not have happy ending so to speak, could not use our leads.
