Hi Guys,
I guess it is time for one of my looong posts...
Now that Sameer and Naina are at the turning point, a new phase, in their life, I just wanted to take a look their journey so far.
When we met Sameer, he was an arrogant boy, with a slight sense of entitlement, proud of his looks and charms, unaware of the realities of life. He was also an angry young boy, angry and frustrated at his family, a cynic who felt isolated from the world. Being so lonely, and having grown up in hostels, he made his friends his family. Hence the unwavering loyalty to his friends at any cost.
He had never seen love closely. This includes the love of friends too, not just the romantic love or familial love.
When he left Nainital, he did it to protect his undeserving friends. I say undeserving because, Munna and Pundit would have been with him, in the principle's office, not waiting outside to see if they will be punished or not. This is the second bond he formed in the new city. The first one was of course his Nanu. Having always stayed in hostel, he might not have spent enough time with Nanu either. Then he met Naina. She showed him another side of love. An unselfish and unwavering love. Breaking Naina's heart was the turning point for him.
The person who was always running from his problems, and from his mistakes, suddenly stopped running. With the help of Munna and Pandit, his Nanu, and the love of Naina, he became a man. He became responsible, calm, mature, and stopped putting blame on others, blame on his past, blame on his mother, blame on this world. Instead he took charge of his destiny.
When we met Naina, she was a naive, immature girl, full of fairy tale dreams. Being deprived of parental love, and listening to the taunts of her elders, she was always in her dreamland. She dreamt of a prince charming who will sweep off her feat and shower all the love she desperately yearns for. Her world was always black and white. Either a person is good or bad. A good person never make mistakes and those who makes mistakes are bad. Her world was pretty straightforward.
Then Sameer came into her world, and it was a chaos. She lied, she did things she never thought of. Yet, she lived in her fairy tale world, Sameer was her prince charming. And suddenly everything was pulled off her feat. Sameer was not a prince, but a boy, a normal person. She loved her brother to such an extent that she had put him in a pedestal. She did the same with Sameer too.
Slowly she came out of her dream world to realities of life. She learnt it is okay to have different ideologies, and that does not make a person right or wrong. The most important lesson for her to learn was that it is okay to make mistakes. That does not make the person bad. The examples of Sameer and Arjun was an eye opener for her. It is okay to love a person and still be aware of their faults. Suddenly Arjun, Rakesh, and Sameer became real persons.
Now, Naina is in love with the real Sameer, not a prince. She loves him despite all his faults. She loves her brother and father, and is aware that they too can commit mistakes. This is the kind of love that lasts.
We cannot suddenly become an adult at the age of 18. It is slow process.
Sameer is 17 years old, and at one point he had to grow up, and stop giving excuses for his mistakes, and irresponsibility. And he did.
Naina is a 16 year old, and one point she had to face real world, and come out of the idealistic, imaginary world she had created for herself. And she did.
Now, we get to see the results of these changes in the next phase of their relationship.
Love
Kshithi
