Yes you should watch ...those initial episodes..that will give you an in sight into the depth of their relationship...especially from his side...when she agreed to teach him , he was so happy...the way he helped her with the debate and their heart to heart talk about families was so endearing ...his eagerness to listen to her and about her family and his open confession about his side was so endearing...Muna and Pundit are close to him but the discussion that he has with Naina is so different from the ones that he has with his friends...with Naina he is able to share his inner most thoughts with out a problem...even their late night talk at Mt. Abu...is very heartwarming ...I just love it when they have this heart to heart talk...that discussion in the class during the debate track..there was a moment of silence ...which was disturbing to both of them but the way she was able to bring in a smile back on his face was the effect that she had on her...when Munna and Pandit talks abt family or his mom ..he normally walks off...but with Naina he slowly began sharing his pain too...he never walked off from her even during the bet phase...whenever in doubt of himself or when he thinks he needs some peace or encouraging he would go to her and ask her opinion ...the way he asked her about the mouthorgan during the Mt. Abu track...

There so many scenes like these where it clearly showed how connected he felt about their relationship...he wanted to be with her ...he didn't want her to hate him or go away from him..he wanted her to see him as her first priority in life... 😳

A guy who doesn't love her or was just doing this for a bet:
1. would have kissed Swati too...but he didn't...he was trying to get out of it even before Munna requested him if you notice during the script reading ...while with Naina, just one hint from Munna and Pandit, made him go to the extent of holding her hand and almost kissing it??? doesn't make sense. For Naina he feels a sense of ownership..as if she belong to him...as if only he has right to go close to her and touch her like that, and only he has a right to hurt her...
2. if you notice after that kiss scene, he was so angry because he felt that she doubted him and his intentions...He was not angry because she slapped him, he was angry because she misunderstood him...But even after all that, when he went to Munna and Pandit, he did not tell the real reason for his anger...He was not afraid of being judged by them, he was more protective of her indirectly...
3. After that scene when they came across each other on various occasions. Even after the fact that he decided he was not going to pursue her anymore after the thapad thing. As soon as he saw her at the pani puri stall, he went near her and fought with her. He went to the video store, he saw her, and he couldn't control his emotions. If he had decided not to pursue her, and if she was not at all interested in her, how come he was still paying attention to her. He was trying to show his haq on her indirectly.
4. at kamya's party...when he should have been focusing on movie, he was more focused on her. His sense of entitlement or possessiveness came in to place in the form of insecurity when he saw her enjoying there. He wanted her to pay attention to him and only him, not to some movie. Even when Kamya dropped drink on him, his first reaction was to look at Naina...why???
5. also they claimed that they never touched...but in the beginning he accidentally touched her in the library. When she was trying to teach him biology. And her hand started shaking. He did not apologize, rather he said jaise tum kaap rahi ho???
6. If you notice, even when he is not with her...he is talking about her, or thinking about her...whether its when nanaji is asking about the special girl, or munna pandit reminding him of bet...Just for a bet, you don't start thinking about someone to that extent.

There are many instances which i can share where i felt that he was not angry with her, and that he was actually possessive or presenting himself as having soul ownership of Naina. So much so that, he doesn't appreciate it, if she pays attention elsewhere or if she distances herself from him indirectly...
