He is jealous of anyone who is successful... we have seen him cribbing in front of his brothers also... so basically he is the one who hasn't learnt to accept his failures in his life and move ahead...rather...he is still stuck up there where he wanted is dreams to be fulfilled...and now he wants all of them to come true through his son... and for this he is putting excessive pressure on him😔

Usko bas Sameer k Maheshwari hone se hi khujli h..qki Rakesh khud to succesful h nhi

But I still would curse those teachers for sowing these hatred seeds in Rakesh sir's mind!!

I agree. It all started bcause he thinks sameer ameerjada, trustee ka nawasaa etc etc.
Sameer parked his bike in Rakesh's place and his imaginary cabin was not built for Sameer as he thinks. Overall
Sameer's taqdeer is ulti with Rakesh. Kya karei.

Rakesh has a huge complex against rich and successful people majorly beacuse he isn't one of them. Had Sameer not been rich a few things would not have happened. (This is not wrt Rakesh alone)
1. Rakesh wouldn't treat him with that much hatred.
2. Taiji, Tauji would not give him as much importance as he gets as Maheshwari's grandson.
3. Pooja's MIL would not have made him so important and thought him worthy enough to be a possible alliance for her daughter.
All in all all these above characters are either awed or threatened (in Rakesh's case) because of Sameer's being from a affluent family.
The only people who support Sameer without caring for his wealth are Mundit, Naina, Preeti.
Strictly my POV.

Good point Manisha...
Rakesh is a failure in life in many ways. And believe me being a librarian is not a failure. He is failure because he compares himself with the world. His inferiority complex is so high, that he feels that whoever is above him monetarily are all wrong and spoiled people. He considers it as his right to insult people who are superior to him, but as he cannot insult them on the basis of money, so he starts finding fault in them and insults them for their lifestyle, nature or habits. He believes that all the rich people have attained money not by hardwork but just by some wrong ways.

His mind wants to blame people for his failures. It gives him a sort of satisfaction when he finds out fault in people, especially those who are rich. First I used to think that he has a moderate income job and hence when taiji insulted him she was wrong. But now I think he himself is responsible for his failures in life. He is busy taking out flaws in people rather than working on his development. He is not a happy guys at all. He has become so bitter that the only thing he is left with to give to people is bitterness.

He actually has a ridiculous mentality 😡

He targets Sameer bcoz he always has been the one who gave him his piece of mind... while now he is weak in front of him bcoz she is his weakness... so he is able to do so

I agree Manisha.

Rakesh's jealousy and anger is more towards Sameer as he is Maheshwariji's grandson.

But then Rakesh has always been this bitter and evil.
He looks down upon people below himself in stature, as unwanted insects, and he is extremely jealous of people who are more successful than him.

Basically he hates every person on this planet except his son.
Even his own daughter hardly has any importance in his life.

I feel he doesn't even love his son... He only loves himself... if you remember during his injury also... he wasn't worried for his health... he was angry that he can't play the match... is this his love for him... no..
He just sees Arjun as a way to show off in front of his brothers😡

Sameer's father, Rakesh has an inferiority complex. It doesn't help that both his siblings are successful in life and respected too. One is a reputed criminal lawyer and the other is a CA, while he is only a librarian with a meagre income. He is not inspired by their success but constantly curses his destiny! Low self esteem and no pride has also ensured that he is always looking towards his brothers to look after his kids needs. Low salary is only an excuse. So, to cover his flaws, he uses his temper and rudeness. He is sure that his son can help him become famous and pressurises him to succeed. Little does he realise that his daughter, Naina, is a better person with a very good intellect. He belongs to the breed of men who believe that women should manage the home only, as they are unable to handle anything else!

Rakesh knows that he can't compete with Nanaji. So the ire is turned on his grandson, Sameer. He has been insulted and remains frustrated due to Sameer's antics. But he has been unable to do anything! His behaviour towards Sameer backfired during the wedding function, as apologising to a teenager who he dislikes immensely, is very insulting! He would never be able to forget this insult, though it was entirely Rakesh's fault. His false ego would be tremendously hurt when Arjun and Naina stand upto him and decide to lead their own lives.

As a father, he wants Arjun to succeed, only because he considers Arjun to be the answers to all his problems. He wants to be rich and famous so everyone in the family respect him! But can respect be bought? It has to be earned, isn't it?

-Rekha

Well said Rekha... I'm very sure that even if he becomes rich bcoz of Arjun.. . Still his behaviour won't change with others... he still would continue to behave rudely with them
