Hi Meher, lovely post as usual! Determination is precisely how I would describe his state of mind and actions with. You nailed it! 👏

Guys are generally not vocal about their feelings. However, when they do say things, they make sure that they fulfill that... the determination in Sam's words was a treat to watch through out...

His determination brought him here. Aage aage dekho where he will take their journey with this determination. He is not gonna step back.

Yes Meher , I agree with you . The best part is his determination to take his bride in the righteous way. Ask for her hand from her dad and make her his life partner. Such a pure and noble approach to win his love. It's a different thing , if it would end up the way he wants his marriage to be...
But the thought behind it is very respectable. Even if her family doesn't agree, I am sure he is the kind who will walk to her house and ask her if she is willing to lead a life with him. If she says yes, he will take her away right in front them. He is not the kind who will play dirty to win his ways. He is brave to take what belongs to him right in front of every one...and when it happens... Naina will be proud that she fell in love him.

As far as Naina is concerned all I can say is , in her ordinary life, love found its way to give her a fairytale to last a life time...with her man SAMEER!!

True that ...his determination is what keeps him going how he is convincing her and trying to take away her insecurities away both with words and actions is adorable...

All your posts till date are brilliant and wonderful to read... Just gives the perfect vibe of your mood and the feels of the scenes you describe...😳

As for Sameer yes he is completely determined to win back what was once willingly given to him but he lost it due to his own actions... He has spent so much time during the bet phase and after that to understand Naina that he is absolutely sure that somewhere deep down she still has that core of love that she had showered on him unconditionally... It has been buried deep under layers of hurt and anger... BUT... it exists...

He knows that his real Naina not only knew how to love but has also taught him to love...

He understands that if the reciprocation he feels for her love can be this strong, how much stronger her love had been...

He is sure that the love for her that has slowly seeped into his every cell will be his biggest strength is winning her love back...

He knows that since ONLY he had the capability to hurt her this much, he is the ONLY ONE who can heal that hurt...

He appreciates the fact walking on the path of love is not always easy, but if Naina had done that for him before then he can do it now for her...

He is aware that the hurt he has caused her is going to take time to heal, that is why he is peeling off layer after layer...

-- First he took all the venom she spewed at him in form of taunts giving her the release she needed

-- Then he took & is still taking all the abuse her family; especially her father is throwing at him giving her the relief to see him hurt / suffer and at the same time making her realize that she is still affected when he is hurt

-- Then he voiced it out to her that he is not going to forget all the moments he shared with her (even if it was under the pretext of bet) and neither will let her forget which gave her an assurance that those moments meant something to him as well

-- Then he gave her an anchor for her fear the wedding card to seal the deal that this time he genuinely means it when he says that he is here to stay and this time it's for the lifetime

After that he has been patiently hammering the chinks of hurt away and replacing each of them with a tender gesture of his love... and he is determined, devoted, dedicated to keep on doing this until he has carved his way to THAT CORE OF LOVE which he knows his Naina has in her heart...

Sameer ki sachchi aashiqui Naina ke dil ko chuke rahegi... Because he KNOWS he is fighting for the girl who has given MEANING to his LIFE and made him realize that he is capable of LOVING & BEING LOVED...

I have also been reflecting on where he gets it from and here are my thoughts:

Naina instilled belief in him - statements like "main tumhe bhi bahut manati hoon"..."dekho hai na tumhara dil acchha" and some more...this is a kid who has rarely been appreciated except for his looks and money. This is where she starts to bring the goodness out in him and also the desire to be good...saying sorry to his mom was a big deal for Sam who was so bitter and rude to her mostly.

Naina gave him unconditional love and care that he never received and somewhere doubted that he even deserved it. Hence the determination to become deseving of that love and care. His mother also told him that the problem is in him and he should figure out why he is incapable of loving anyone. Hence the determination to become capable of loving others.

What keeps him consistent with his determination despite all challenges (rejections and insults) is perhaps knowing deep within that she is in love with him as she said she would never be able to love anyone again and she would always see his face in the person before her...ah! Hurting yet comforting at the same time!!!

All In all great story and great characterisation. Kudos to the YUDKBH team!

@Bold, what you have highlighted here is extremely important.

First of all, he is trying to prove to himself that he deserves to be loved and has what it takes to see things through.

And though Naina is in denial or anger mode at the moment, he knows by her own confession that she will never get over him.
