Ok toh generally main spoiler padhti hu nahi taaki excitement khatam na ho jaaye, so aj pehli jab pata chala k Sameer's mother will not agree to recognize him, I was like how rude she is!! Kaisi ma hai woh? Par ab jab episode dekha toh pata chala k situation kuch aur hi tha..
Definitely yahan halat played the main antagonist role, sab kuch aise achanak present hua k galat fami hona natural hai. Ab question hai k iss mein Sameer k ma ka kya dosh hai? Situation hi kuch aisi thi...

But in my opinion unki galti hai. Unki sabse badi galti yeh hai ki woh kabhi kuch bol hi nahi paayi. Baat sirf aj ki nahi, humesha unke husband Jo bhi kehte hai wohi woh maanti hai, wohi karti hai chahe woh dil se raji ho ya na ho.. unhone Sameer ko dil se toh pyaar Kia par kabhi sab k saamne Garv se dikha nahi paaye, kabhi sameer ko samajhne ki kosish nahi ki, kabhi apni dil ki baat hi nahi bol paaye, yeh nahi keh paaye k woh kya chahti hai.. aur aisa kar k woh khud se jyada Sameer k saath injustice kar rahe hai.. and yehi hai sabse badi galti

Agreed.

And there was this look of sudden realisation on Sameer's face as he walked away... that she has made her choice and from now on - no expectations.

It's sad but true that Sameer's Mom is at fault. The client even said that parents of such boys just give them birth and leave them to live still his mom couldn't go against her hubby and take a stand! Cannot even give her a benefit of doubt anymore.

Really no words for the step father. He always gave everything else more weightage over sameer.

Well said dwipanita...

Don't know what her past is.,..but she has always given much more preference to her family than Sameer. If she would have taken a stand she wouldn't have even agreed on keeping Sameer in a boarding school since a young age..
She always has been shown to take things on face value and never thought of gong in depth...never understood him during the exam paper cheating case...she understood only the things projected to her,..

I haven't seen the episode yet...but what I get to understand about Sameer's mom is that firstly the show is based in the 90's...
Now in those days remarriages were definitely not very common...
We all know that this is her second marriage...
We don't know if she was a widow or a divorcee anyhow she re married a person of very high class and status...
Ab uss Time mein phirse aisa ghar milna would have been a very big thing...

Well we have all seen time and again tooo that be it high society or middle class men have been more dominant in the house.. the wife most of the times can't go against the husband.. and this being in the 90's definitely it would have been very difficult... (a few days ago I was watching K3G again after a long time and noticed this point now after so many years how dominant was Amitabh's character over his wife as well where she couldn't even tell him that she wanted to attend her caretaker's daughter's Nikaah... and he uttered his famous dialogue keh diya bas keh diya) this was just a reference to context..

We all know the step father is a perfect step father to Sameer...
And he is displaying two faces...one of the concerned father in front of his wife and the other one a cruel selfish and egoist man.

So in a way the wife is thinking that my husband thinks so much about my son but it is my son who is at fault and that compels her to shut up most of the times..
The truth we know but she is unaware of what is happening behind her..
and then there is direct comparison for her son in the form of step or second son ... we don't know..

So sameer is right in his place but mom I don't know she is right or wrong but definitely bound and blinded by some fake concerns...

Her fault is that she isn't able to take a stand for her son when he needs her the most...she being his mother has some duties towards him and she has failed in fulfilling them everytime
I feel sad for sameer that he has a mom like her

I've been thinking on these lines too, but couldn't say it better than you have described- somehow I've always felt she is concerned for Sameer n trusts him, but is very much in control of her new husband- we don't know her limitations as well...n yes his step-father definitely is a hypocrite, n she believes he really cares for Sameer- infact he wants him to turn out a failure. Remember the cricket match of the headboy competetion- his mom wanted to wait till Sam hits his winning six, but her husband dragged her away saying Rohan is hurt n in the end nothing had happened to Rohan. Infact Sam was hurt too. N then even in paper cheating case- she says she doesn't believe Sam can do this- again that wretched man convinces her that Sam is a khota sikka. Maybe she is blinded by the concern her husband shows towards Sameer, n she reciprocates the same towards Rohan. But in reality, she fails to understand that her own son is being ignored.

Agreed that her husband hates Sameer
But what I want to know is if Vishaka knows he hates his stepson ?

She must have figured by now isn t it. If not, then she is living in a delusion.

If she clearly understands where her husband stands regarding Sameer, couldn't she have made an agreement with him in a way that she could have given a little time to Sameer ?

If he had not agreed to her request, she would have known the kind of man he is.

Yes, times were different in the 90s. But Vishaka could have worked out a solution which could have made Sameer feel a little more loved.

Here we have to remember that she need not depend on her present husband for any kind of financial support for Sameer.
Her father is a wealthy man and he can easily take care of physical comforts for Sameer.
Only her little love was all Sameer needed.
