His loss is not his mistake.. i rather found him a victim of circumstances...

He was definitely a victim of the circumstances...I wish his Mom realises that and doesn't repeat this in future...I wish Sameer gets his Mom and her love soon...

When i saw Sameer, i thought of Naina and her pledge. All wasted
At least she could have watched him, but on the second thought good that she didn't bcos she would be more shattered as she was now.
All was not well in the end, but i do wanna say that Sameer wanted to win, but fate and set of conditions were not in his favour and all went wrong.
Hope he will realise Naina's plight and stop blaming her.

Once for all, his mother easily goes against him, only Nanu feels for him the most !

samir wanted to prove his point only to his mom .. no one else, not the world, and when she was walking out, winning lost its meaning to him.

he was not proving point to his step dad, all that matters is his mom.

Everytime she shoves love on him, he will be so happy, but then she does something which breaks him again.

He actually didn't loose, from where I see, winning never mattered, if she didn't see it, so he gave up ..

he is 16-17 year old teenager, who has a step dad, even teen's of today will have issue with step dad, and this is in 90's .. so we have to see the psychology of the boy here.

And additionally, we do not know the back story of his parents, may be he does miss his dad a lot.

He is teenager who is lost due lack of parental care and attention.

Naina is going to fill that gap for him, that is when he will develop feelings for Naina.

Quite agree with you points especially parts in bold.

Sameer is the man-child and more of child less of man like most teenagers are. Mom means the world but he can't/won't admit it. And, like a child, he is hungry for love, so much that even when Naina - who honestly is not much to him at this time - wishes her own brother and feels happy for him, he feels hurt and angry, like a lonely child who just cannot share his toy - 'mine'.

He is such a lost boy and acting all Peter Panish.

Even Naina in a similar boat with no mother and just-in-name father, but presence of his loving uncle and not-overtly-loving but still caring aunt and sibling like cousins has provided her much stable upbringing.

Sameer has long way to go and many matches to loose before he can win.

I felt bad for Naina as she desperately wanted him to win...and Sameer lost because of his circumstances and his Mom😡
Hope he gets to know about her feelings soon😊

That moment of his heartbreak made him lose his confidence and concentration
