This gives the inner thought process Raman and Ishita go through when they about to marry (initial episodes of yhm).
This is my viewpoint on how Raman and Ishita feel based on respective heartbreaks in the past.
Here, Raman has not left to Mumbai suddenly after his divorce to Shagun. As much as he loves Adi, he loves Ruhi too. So he stays, be there for Ruhi till she is 1 year old. But then the mole starts to show on Ruhi's face similar to Shagun which reminds him of her. And he is gradually growing impatient, thus, he fears that he might hurt Ruhi in the process. And he then he leaves to Mumbai. So he stayed 5 years away from Ruhi and his family.

Raman and Ishita are sitting for their marraige lost in their own battle of thoughts.
Raman
Raman is not at all happy to marry again after what he has gone through in his first marriage. He is so so frustrated and in agony that he wants to run away from all this fuss. He is unable to take the sudden pain arose in his chest. He wants to shout and let his all pain out in the world but he cannot and he doesn't know what to do about it. Then he looks at Ruhi, his rooh, and all the pain vanishes, his resolve to take this huge step is back. He sees her smiling, running, playing and his heart warms at the sight. He knows one thing that he cannot lose Ruhi now, his sole reason to stay sane.
Earleir, Raman and Ruhi conversation
Raman goes to Ruhi and calls her
R - rooh
Ru - (happily) yes papa
R - you are happy na ?
Ru - yes papa. Very very very happy. I am going to get to stay with you and Ishima. so, very very happy.
R - (smiling) okay, go and have lunch, dadi is searching for you.
Ru - (with sad and fearful expression) papa, you will also stay with me na, you will not go back na ?
Raman feels like slapping himself for making his rooh, his angel go through this. He doesn't know how to comfort her. He has lost that in these 5 years of mechanical life.
R - (with choking voice) No rooh. Never ever. From now papa will always be with his rooh.
Ru - (jumping) yeyyy yeyyy.. I will go and tell Ishima. Bye papa.
Ruhi goes from there.
Raman wants to cry his heart out but he could not.
But with this interaction his resolve to marry Ishita and give his Ruhi what she deserves, grew stronger and stronger.
Ishita
Ishita is happy to marry (* please do not misjudge, read on to know more *). Ishita, even after being born and brought up in this modern society, has always dreamed of being married, willingly ready for the compromises that come with marraige. After 12 years of relationship with Subbu she used to already behave like a wife with him as she knew this was what she liked and loved to be. But when she came to know that she could not conceive, brought her down to earth from her dreamworld. Still she believed that Subbu would be there for her. She had hoped that they, together, will overcome this problem. And them came the horrifying shock. Subbu left her. 12 years of relation thrown in the pit in a matter of minutes. She was completely taken to ground zero. Her belief system was shattered. And after all this, here she was about to marry whom she felt nothing but disgust. But still she was happy.
The sole reason was Ruhi and just Ruhi. That is what she kept on saying to herself. But, deep within, she knew that her dream to become a bride, a wife was going to come true. Even though she hates the man she is marrying, but still somewhere she was happy to be a wife. And, Ishita being the curious one, had many unanswered questions. Is Raman really abusive (* in my other OS, link is mentioned above *)? Does he love Ruhi ? How will I stay in this loud punjabi family ? But when she looked at Ruhi, content and happy, she was sure that she need not worry about any of these. She will be there for Ruhi in every thick and thin of her life from now.
She also recalled earlier how Ruhi, in happy tone, said that papa has told her that she, Ishima and Papa are going to stay together.
This made her resolve more strong to give every possible happiness to Ruhi.
Both Raman and Ishita came out of her thoughts when they were asked to stand up for pheras.
They looked at each other and silently conveyed that no matter what, we will give the best to Ruhi.
