PART 9

They bid bye to each other and went back home. Ishu was smiling all the way, while Raman was feeling guilty for separating Ishu from her parents, but the thought of Mr Iyer brought his anger back to him. They reached their home, Ishu went to make dinner while Raman was lost in his thoughts.

Ishu *asked her while coming out of kitchen with their dinner*: Raman kya soch rahe ho? Bhook nahi hai kya?? Chalo mein khaana lagathi hum..

He nodded his head and sat on his place. Seeing his still lost in thoughts, Ishu sat on his lap and caressed his hair.

Ishu: Kya soch rahe ho??

He smiled at her and shook his head as if stating nothing.

Ishu: Toh khanna khavo naa..

Raman: But my hands are busy naa.. *he said showing his hands which were inside her tees caressing her bare tummy* you feed me..

Ishu blushed and smiled at his antics and began feeding him, in between eating herself. After completing dinner, he helped her clean the dishes and picked her back to their room.

Both were lost in themselves, she was laying with her head resting on his shoulder while he was caressing her hair slowly and both slipped into a deep calm slumber.

Days passed, all was going smoothly. One day Ishita called Raman and asked him to come home early.

So he was waiting for an auto as his bike was in servicing station, that's when he saw a car stop near him. It was Mr Iyer inside, seeing him Raman's eye turned red. He came out of the car and smirked at him.

Mr Iyer: Damad jii.. aap aise sadak par?? *he mocked Raman* How is my daughter.. ohh sorry.. your wife??

Raman *gritting his teeth in anger*: Meri biwi bohot khush hai.. you don't need to worry..

Mr Iyer: Oh toh isiliye she is trying to come back to me..

Raman glared at him in anger.

Mr Iyer: Kya..?? You don't know, tumhari biwi daily meri biwi ko call karti hai.. But what can she do, after all her husband is a middle class worker.. usse iss zindagi ka adaat nahi haina.. don't worry she will soon adjust.. *he spoke dusting imaginary dust from Raman's shirt*.. I told you naa, she is my daughter, and she will miss me, after all she is my princess.

With that he went, Raman rushed home in anger. As soon as he entered, she hugged him and pecked his cheek smiling fully. But he had no time to notice all that.

Raman: Ishita.. do you miss your parents??

She looked at him for a moment and snuggled more into him seeking his warmth.

Raman: Ishitaa.. I asked you something..

Ishu: You won't get angry naa??

Raman: No.. bolo..

Ishu: Pakka..

Raman: Haan.. pakka.. ghusaa nahi karungaa.. abh bolo, do you miss your parents??

Ishu: Yaa.. I miss them sometimes.. everybody does..

Raman: So you are not happy with me.. *he asked distancing her from himself*

Ishu *pulling Raman close*: When did I say that.. don't create new dimensions to my answer Raman..

Raman: Oh.. so I'm misunderstanding.. ya right, sab sahi kehathe hai.. biwi is always right.. but in your house it's your appa na who is always right.. then why can't you be like your amma in that..

Ishu: Raman stop it.. why are you dragging them in between us..

Raman: Mein nahi.. it's you who is thinking about them.. tum layi unhe hamari beech..

Ishu: Raman you are not in your right mind.. we will talk later.. *she said trying to end the conversation in between her cry*

Raman: Oh so now I'm not normal.. kya kya suna pad raha hai tumhari appa ki chakar mein.. I'm going..

Ishu hugged him from behind to prevent him from going out. He just pushed her and stormed out in anger not caring to turn back.

After sometime, RiNe and MiMi came there and was shocked to see the sight in front of them. Ishu was lying unconsciously surrounded in a pool of blood. Mihika screamed in horror and rushed to Ishu. Mihir picked Ishu in his arms, soon she was taken to hospital.

HOSPITAL - EMERGENCY WARD

Doctor came out of the room, they all rushed to him.

Mihika: Doctor, Ishu.. how is she??

Doctor: Sorry.. we couldn't save the baby..

Bala *Mihika's brother*: Baby??

Doctor: Yes.. Mrs Bhalla was 6 weeks pregnant..

Mihika and Rinki closed their mouth in shock and cried bitterly.

Doctor: Where is her husband? We need his sign in a few papers..

Neil: I will call him now..

Bala: No need to call that man.. I'm her brother, I will sign the consent paper..

Doctor: Sorry Mr Iyer, but we need the patient's husband's or father's signature..

Bala: Ok Miku call periappa.. I won't allow that Raman near my sister..

Raman who came home saw the blood and was shocked. He cried being scared and rushed outside to the security, who told him that Ishita was taken to the nearby hospital.

Raman rushed to the hospital.

Raman: Mrs Ishita Bhalla.. *he asked the receptionist who directed him the room no.*

He ran to the room not caring about anyone coming opposite him. He reached there and saw a nurse who came outside her room.

Raman: Sister.. my wife.. Ishita.. how is she??

Nurse looked at him for a second, she felt pity for him and said, "Sorry to say, but your wife just had a miscarriage.."

He was shocked, he didn't how to react. He remembered how happy she was and asked him to come home early.. He sat down on the floor crying hiding his face. How will he face her? He killed his baby??

With baby steps he entered the room, his heart bleed seeing her state. She was sitting still not reacting to anything. All were worried seeing her like this. He cried his heart out not knowing what to do. He slowly walked towards her only to be slapped by Bala.

Bala: Itna hone ke baad bhi tumhara himaat kaise huyi Ishu ke paas aane ki.. Just get lost before I do something worse..

Raman looked at Mihika with pleading eyes.

Mihika: Don't look at me, I'm already feeling guilty for helping you get married to my sister. You are the worst mistake in my Ishu's life.. Don't ever show your face to Ishu..

Raman glanced at his wife who was still sitting like a rock staring at nothing particular. His heart ached seeing her condition, but he knew he is responsible for this. So he walked out silently not wanting to hurt her further. Tears were falling continuously off his eyes, he didn't bother to wipe it off.

Mihir, Rinki and Neil saw his condition and felt bad for him but didn't bother to stop him because this time he went over board. He should get his punishment for the same.

Don't think I'm exaggerating things. This happened for real in my neighbourhood.

"Anger is the most dangerous emotion and it will affect only our loved ones."
