Sumi nice take and your question about Raman meaning it yes, I think so too.
By looking from a birds' eye view the CVS created first leap situation and to make it complicated added Ruhi element in it by totally destroying her as a character and story as a whole.
All the players from first leap are in play now - Raman, Ishita and Ruhi, Nidhi, Romi, SI and Shagun with additional players pulled in for drama sake.
Ruhi:
First of all what is Ruhi as a daughter? I couldn't get her any more. I thought I did when she was lashing out at her mother. But after the way story progressed Ruhi not getting any counseling or schooling makes it hard to even gauge her as a character. And her parents allowing her to perform as Ruhan which really had a psychological consequence is beyond my understanding. She had been subjected to such mental and physical cruelty but as parents they let her continue that identity without proper guidance also.
So my conclusion about Ruhi is a psychologically damaged and emotionally vulnerable and unstable added to the teenage with an erratic behavior to make any sound decisions. A ticking time bomb.
So she not only hid her romantic involvement with Sohail from her parents, and crime like murder without getting disturbed and later more blackmail done by Sohail. If she trusted either one of her parents', they could've helped her out without her getting tangled further. But sadly she is her father's daughter when it comes to impulsiveness.
Raman:
To me this man never learns the lesson no matter what. Very emotional and impulsive and immature at times. The only difference from first leap to this current situation is a tone down less abusive husband. But the outcome is same. You are not Ruhi's mother and not my wife. Our paths are separate.
Did he mean it? I think he is. Because the reasonable Raman was lost long time ago. And what all we are left with an erratic man who looks to take an easy route without thinking who else will get affected by his outburst? So, no lessons learned I guess. So what about Pihu and Adi? Are they Ishita's kids or not? This same impulsive behavior made him lose Ishita 7 years ago depriving Pihu of her real mother and Ishita of her child and her growing years and Adi a mother and guide as well.
If we have to compare the sins of Ishita against sins of Raman both did wrong to each other.
Didn't Raman go behind Ishita with surrogacy despite her telling him not to. Didn't he deceptively obtain her signature and chose Shagun as a surrogate mother? And as soon as things go out of hand regarding Ruhi which was his plan without a backup plan to deal with Nidhi blamed Ishita and throw her out of his and kids' life. Where is fairness in this act of his? But yet again lot of us blamed Ishita for the loss of Ruhi.
When Ruhi was found where was Raman and what did he do to rescue Ruhi? If it is just him he would've never gotten the custody of Ruhi not the first time and not this second time. It is due to Ishita he got Ruhi. How can anyone forget his treatment towards Ruhi when she was a little girl. So all are forgotten and forgiven. If he has Ruhi and Adi with him today it is due to Ishita. Instead of counting his blessings he is ready to throw her to the wolves over and over again at any given opportunity.
There is something called "Closure" - the meaning of it is
closure. To attempt to 'move on' following the termination of a relationship with another individual.
There are some times one needs to look at a strenuous relationship and come to terms with it and need to move on. When things went south in Raman and Ishita relationship 7 years ago they never had a talk about the mistakes they did. Not only that despite Ishita trying to fix the wrongs she did she was constantly harassed and insulted and humiliated by Raman. Even when Ishita was brought back to get Ruhi back he had no remorse and never acknowledged the in justice he did towards Ishita, be it Pihu not knowing about her mother nor the unceremonious way he threw her out of his and his kids' life. So this is one loose thread called insecurity that has been haunting Ishita ever since. And without addressing any of these she stayed back and life just continued.
As usual Shagun threw a monkey wrench regarding Pihu so once again they both had to take a decision to stay separate to win her back. (Still lesson didn't synch in for Raman). His one kid at time policy is hurting his other kids and his wife here, but apparently he only has one track mind unfortunately.
Now the situation coupled with Ruhi's stupidity and her strong desire to hide things from her parents causing the catastrophic effect but here we are talking about Raman who takes the easy route to blame Ishita rather than looking at the situation logically.
Ishita:
Her super woman attitude and hiding things from Raman did not do any good for the family. The basic lack of trust and respect between her and Raman is a major disaster for their family and especially for kids. But the disregard for the consequences is what is confusing.
She must have remembered the situation that caused the separation 7 years ago. But this time she wanted to not to repeat that same mistake is commendable in Ishita. And at the same time she is roaring about her being Ruhi's mother whenever Raman is denying that. Part of me really feel sad for her. For her losing the confidence as a woman and her begging with Raman to explain the situation and his continuous anger and pushing her away is really heart breaking.
Yes, she didn't follow Raman's instructions. But that is not a crime. The fact is neither understood the importance of protecting and guiding Ruhi. Their attempts to understand her come too late. Their lenience with her without drawing the boundary lines caused the rest of the events go out of control. They both as parents lost control over Ruhi completely.
I still can see why Ishita took Ruhi to Sohail. Again this is part of that Closure. The similar thing happened with Ruhi and Nidhi when Shagun took Ruhi to Nidhi knowing she will be beaten and left her unguarded. Ishita by following them reached there to witness Nidhi trying to beat Ruhi, and told Ruhi to stand up and fight because that is the only way to overcome the fear of Nidhi. This is closure. after that Ruhi may not have any fears regarding Nidhi. Ishita expected the same thing will happen with Sohail and Ruhi too. She expected her to move on from another bad experience. If only Ruhi trusted Ishita just like Ishita trusted Ruhi and shared the murder information and the letter that Sohail gave to her things wouldn't have gone out of control.
So the lack of trust and respect is what playing a havoc in Raman and Ishita's life. But the extreme reaction from Raman towards Ishita only shows his callous nature and disrespect for Ishita as a mother and a wife and in general a woman. She made so many sacrifices for the sake of kids and Raman should respect or remember the good happened for the family because of Ishita too. Communicate, express disagreements but respect her as she is not only your wife but a mother to your kids who can put her life on line for them without batting an eye. And undermining her as a mother is only going to hurt all of you as a family. Kids are so insecure and part of what Ruhi did today and Adi hiding his breakup with Alia is that same insecurity. That it will affect and their mother will take the brunt of it.
My sincere request to makers as promised make it a mature story. A role of a mother and wife is not a job to hire and fire. It is a phase in the lives of every woman. You guys ridiculed every profession and every sensitive topic in the name of drama. But end that insensitivity and make this show as unique as ever.
