I am an Iyer and follow the cooking style very well. The YHM team makes a mockery of everything Tamil. Vandhu becomes Chitti despite being Ishu's older sister(periamma is mother's older sister remember Mihika calling Madhu that?)
Medhu vada is made on a leaf with hole in the middle...yesterday Madhu ans aliya pick batter and drop in oil and it transforms itself into the doughnut
form...wish cooking was that easy.

Agreed😊
@bold: Maybe soft target.
I felt medhu vada assassination to be better than characters assassination 😉😆

I agree being a south Indian I can relate to this
And definitely our menu just doesn't comprise of idli/dosa/vadaa/sambar/rasam

At times I find amma's hindi v funny too I doubt if any Delhi based iyer talks in such an accent.
The traditions in the show look too forced at times they should better not show any than making a mockery out of it

I'm not sure of the vada recipe cause I'm not a South Indian so I won't comment on it but I've come to know of this mother's elder sis being periamma because I've got some Tamil friends in school. Aliya calling Vandita chitti did confuse me.

From past 3 years this YHM Iyer family has been eating only idli, vada, sambar and rasam. 😆
Cant blame the CVs...they are sooo busy coming up with a superb storyline...that they don't have time to research on what south Indians eat 👏

My foot...all that they do is copy from YHM 1.0 and phir bhi bloopers pe bloopers. Vandu is chitti sometimes and periamma someday...pagal log 😡 😡

Hahaha..that's the thought that struck me when I saw amma just put batter into hot oil without making a hole in it too..oh how I wish making medu vadai was this easy😆
Oh yhm is like a slapstick comedy when it comes to portraying tamil iyers. .I am an iyer too...😆..oh the pronunciations were debated like crazy in the initial days. .in fact we felt that only mihika Verma got most of the pronunciations right..and the one time raman gave a speech KP did try and get the tone and pauses right..in a conversational non comic way

But from what my punjabi friends tell me they make a mockery of punjabis too..I have not seen punjabis eating paranthas and pakoras all day too😆..nor do they dress the way toshi and simmi did pre leap. ..😆

11pm yhm did make attempts at some traditions like golu...varalakshmi puja., tamil new year etc..but 7 30 pm yhm has given up completely😆..except rare ones like the oil bath scene on Diwali. .

And chittI..periamna has been used interchangeably for vandu since forever. ..thank god they at least got thatha..paati right😛
