Aditya Raman Bhalla.

He was introduced as the 12 year old "bad" kid who was only shown to disrespect his father he had been instigated against for years. He was Raman's weakness for over a year. He was the one who asked his father for an apology from Ishita, he drove at the age of 12 running over his stepmother's mother. He made mistakes in his childhood as a result of being misled by his mother and Ashok who he called dad though none of them could be his parent.

He began to make bigger mistake. He was taught to hate by his mother. He was told that his stepmother took his mother's spot, her rights and her husband. So he wished for his broken family to get back wanting to remove the woman who he felt didn't belong.

However in the process, he began to love the woman who was his father's wife and his sister's mother. He began to long for the same love that his Ishita aunty gave others. But before he could receive the love he always wished for and was deprived off, he started to feel like maybe he never deserved to be loved. He felt like he was the cause of the problems his family faced and he wished to end that. He wanted to end his life as a result of the loneliness from his broken family and seeing his sister being taken away for him to get a family.

Though we never got to see how he overcome his feels of worthlessness, we were shown how he got a family, how he got parents that truly loved him and would do anything to give him the bet upbringing they could even at the cost of argument between them. And maybe it was that upbringing that his parents tried to provide him even with the many difficult times their family went through that he has become the mature young man he is today.

He had matured young due to the many circumstances that came his way in his childhood, but he has taken them positively to become how he is today. He knows that pain of a broken family, he has lost his sister and mother yet kept himself together for his family. He misses the two family members he lost, but chooses not to blame anyone. His biological mother spends all her time with his youngest sister who remains a memory of the two women he lost, yet doesn't say anything. His Ishima's family doesn't interact with his family, yet he wants to bring the families together and tries to do anything he can. He takes care of his younger sister who isn't aware of what's she lost the day she came into the world.

And today he becomes the support for his father. He sees the man who lost everything, his father who lost everything he himself also lost, and the man who tried to give him everything yet was left with nothing without himself. He helped the man who he once couldn't bear. He took the responsibility of helping his dad and acted as the stern father as him scolding him as he didn't want to hear him expressing his defeated state, the one he used to cause at one point in time. He misses his Ishima, he misses his sister, he misses his big happy family and he does everything he can possibly do to get their family together and keep the small family that is together from falling apart. He follows what his parents taught him, he cares for others like his Ishima did, he silently does everything in his ability for others like his father He is Aditya Raman Bhalla.

As of now, after numerous illogical tracks, horribly butchered characters and an unnecessary leap, there is one character I can see has grown. A character who isn't a main lead, who is often kept on the side, and spent a huge portion of his childhood at camp yet took the spotlight for me. Aditya Raman Bhalla is the one character I applaud the creatives for. He has grown from a mislead teenager who had made mistakes to learned from those mistake to become a responsible young man today. So thank you for this one real character in the present day Yeh Hai Mohabbatein that I have gone from not being really fond of to loving him for what he has become. šŸ‘

Amazing write up, Prabh!

Of all the YHM characters - Adi is the most endearing to me. He had the best and almost realistic character growth amongst anyone else in the show.

To me, Adi is the strengths of Ishita and Raman. He has features of both of them that show the impact of their dedication and love to him.

Adi is the perfect parallel to Mihir. They both support good, care for others, and are fiercely loyal.

Both GA and this new actor have done a good job as Adi thus far.

Good to see such a meaningful write up about the not-so meaningful show from you! 😃 ā¤ļø

Excellent write up about Adi character Prabh.
I don't know how the new Adi is as I have not watched the show after leap but your character in depth analysis was very well done.

Wow what a brilliant write up.
Yes adi has come a long way. Has both the qualities of Raman and ishita. Today he became the father , Mother and a friend to raman, his dad who was completely broken. What a transformation.

Yeah, true, but if it weren't for the leap, I am sure that his character would have become pretty messed up as well, like when they introduced the Vinnie girl

Life's experiences shapes or breaks us. Ruhi as a child was loved by those around and exuded great confidence. Now the same Ruhi in the clutches of Nidhi has lost her identity the affection and care and ablity to guage others. She has been drugged insensitive...she is hurting and is willing to hurt.
Adi was salvaged from a messy childhood and given an identity which he is now living up to. A character who embodies the care and affection of his Ishima who is now a mere memory.
Pihu receives affection... her papa dotes on her that lives a reminder of them he lost. She is obsessed with her serials and the lack of firm upbringing is evident.
Each of Raman's kids represents what they lost and how that shapes who they are today. Raman by saying the old Raman is dead is reduced to represent hate as he lost the two that taught him to love.
Very interesting characterisation despite the contrived twist and turns in the plot to top the chart.

Well written post

Yes I liked Adi character even when it was negative , because I can't hate any character , above all it is kid character. When cv turned this character into positive , we didn't witness much of it .

Now , he is matured , caring young boy.
Finally cv has done justice to this character atleast.
