Simple Question: Why Do You Watch YHM?

I just have a genuine question.. Why do you watch Yeh Hai Mohabattein?

I can't. I can't connect to Ishita - Raman or any character, I can't watch it for the actors coz it blocks me to liking them from real life - like these days I can't even tolerate the term YHM you mention it and I run away, I can't watch it for the coupling because IshRa is dead. They have killed Ishita and Raman as a couple. I'm not saying couples come without flaws but Ishita and Raman are now the poster children for dysfunctional. Literally. You have all the nonsense in the world and then when TRP falls you have them give a cutesy scene, them the IG fangirls run with edits to impress DT then come on india forums and bitch, then rest of the forum sits and criticises that little happy scene you'll get and I'm trying my best here to like them but I can't.

Once in a while I convince myself, like today after weeks, chalo it has been three weeks I'm going to see if I can start again. I come to IF to hunt for a good analysis post or a legit discussion like Gans thread and I can't find any. Instead I find people who break norms meant to maintain peace, I find people abusing their rights in the forum, I find trolls, I find bashers and so much hate.

So can someone please answer my question, why do you'll watch the show if you'll hate it so much?

Spare me the please stop moral policing lecture or the our life, our choice thing because I am genuinely inquisitive here. I want to do the same. I want to sit and watch a show and them spend hours bitching about the little and tiniest details but I can't bring myself to. I try watching or being updated like a 'TRP Aunty' but goodness me, it annoys me even more. I try sitting and writing something so I can reignite my love for the couple but I'd rather punch myself over because I feel so numb.

The actors are bored, I'm bored. The creatives have no clue, the audience doesn't care. So someone please, I beg you, please tell how you watch the show or how you can bring yourself to watch and obsess over something you clearly hate because I can't do that! I would love to do the latter but please tell me about the former if you must.

The daily soaps becomes a habit , part of people's daily routine , they become conditioned to watch it daily , day in day out ... That's why Sathiya , yeh rishta , diya baati are still running , in UK coronation street , east Enders are running for 50 years ( coronation street) it's part of people daily routine .
Here in the forum , I joined here very very very late , although using IF since last 5 years , but I could see the trend , a lot of members are very intelligent , with great writing skills , good humour and genuinely interested in YHM's USP , which was the story , the actors, the direction was not always great as even in the peak of good story line , it lacked the punch of smooth transition from one track to another . Then you have some very very dedicated fans from both sides ... who although not happy with the current track, is like Devdaas " kaun kambakht YHM Kay liyee dhaikta hai , hum toh dhaiktay hain Kay Divan ko dhaik sakain " !!!! I would add Ruhi as well as I do watch the episode on TV ( TRP AUNTY ) if there is Ishima and Ruhi scenes .
There was so much scope but unfortunately people incharge of the show think very little about the quality and believe that PUBLIC likes this kind of drama so give them that , they are not wrong , but I find it very disgusting that the creators think all the TRP AUNTIES have no brains ... it's another debate , let's leave it .

I watch yhm with no sound. Where I feel sound is needed I do it.

Kiara you're post is bang on darling. But I tell you one thing those same people will just say "Our choice" and continue with their rubbish! Criticism has been their forte ever since YHM's inception.

I come to the forum EVERYDAY (I feel incomplete without coming here) and I see SUCH negativity... I sit & think WHY do they watch the god damn show if they hate it but whenever I ask them they say ... "our choice DON'T dictate us"

I moved on from this show long time ago, still don;t understand how people manages to watch it day after day. it is a crappy show and you are right, ishra is dysfunctional to the point where they don't even deserve to be called a couple anymore. I like karan and divyanka but not enough to put up with this nonsense show.
